    I had car accident 4 months ago and shattered tibia and acetabulum and still stand or walk. Might need new hip down the line. Thank you for this video

    I'm glad it's all over for you, and it all went well , l hope to get my knee done soon. l need full knee cap .Was it woodend or ARI .

      Thanks Caroline. It did go well, I had my op in Woodend. For me with maybe one exception, all the staff were great. It was just the say that they sent Michelle away without explaining what was going to happen that was a bit upsetting. More so for Chelle than me I was too nervous to spot it at the time. The other three people on my ward had knees done. One went home the same day the other two were still in when I left. I think that a knee is more involved than a hip. The guy next to me had two hips done at the same time last year. He wasn’t worse off than that but he was able to compare the two operations. He didn’t enjoy any of them. Hopefully you get yours done soon so that you can get some summer enjoyment.

    Did he make you go to the dentist to make sure you don’t have any infection in your mouth?

      Hi, no I didn’t have to go through that. My father in law however has been sent to the dentist before he can get his hip done.

    Did they ask you if you want epidural or fill anaesthesia

    • @AlanAndChelle
      @AlanAndChelle  2 месяца назад

      They only offered be the epidural. The only choice I was given was to be awake or to be given a sedative. I said that I didn't want a sedative as that can prolong your stay in hospital. In the end they did sedate me, all I remember was the surgeons first cut. Then they woke me up a couple of hours later. I highly recommend that course, I had no felling of sickness and recovery very quickly from the epidural. If fact the whole process, for me was a pretty smooth affair and as stress free as it could be.
