My favorite, the original Fleetwood Mac with Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer (slide guitar a la Elmore James). Danny Kirwan (blond kid) was an amazing guitarist who played alongside Peter. His vibrato is legendary. He was an excellent songwriter and vocalist also. Their album "Then Play On" is one of my favorites. Some favorite songs (there are lots more) are: "Albatross", "Underway", "Although the Sun is Shining", "Woman of 1000 Years", "Man of the World", "Dragonfly", "The Green Manalishi", "Something Inside of Me", "Oh Well", "Sands of Time", "Earl Grey" and "Rattlesnake Shake."
Peter Green actually founded Fleetwood Mac given his nature the band name comprised from Mick Fleetwood and John Mcvie was not important! Green lead guitarist also wrote Green Manalishi successfully covered by Judas Priest
a lot of footage of Danny Kirwan on guitar but Pete Green is the one playing the solos. Peter Green founded Fleetwood Mac and along with Jeremy Spencer. Danny Kirwan was brought in later as Pete green became more reclusive before his complete mental breakdown bought on by a bad LSD Trip in Germany. You need to see "Oh Well"
This was fun to see. I was in class with John McFie (bass player and the Mac in the band's name.) for 2 years back in 1957 and '58, and I could still see his same face in this video. He was a very quiet, little boy at that time and I am sure none of us would ever have imagined that he would have gone on to be such a guitarist and acquire such fame! BTW I found an old class picture with him in it and I was amazed to see that we were 47 kids in the class. Good job we were all so well behaved at that time!
Just to add to the comments here, the guitar PG is playing in the video is "Greeny", probably the most famous guitar in the world. You can tell by the fact that the neck pickup is the wrong way round. I saw Fleetwood Mac live at about this time, I also saw PG with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. And I have a Gibson Les Paul with the Peter Green mod, purchased in the same shop in London where he bought his guitars.
Green was a huge influence on Carlos Santana. This is a good example of how Santana modeled his early style after Green and how he revered Green through the years. Another obvious influence is the looooooooong drawn out notes in the Green instrumental The Supernatural, which he did as a member of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. The unique tone of Green's guitar came from one of the pickups being wired backwards, causing it to be slightly out of phase with the other one.
Actually Peter Green wrote this and Carlos covered it and made it mainstream popular.
My favourite Blues guitarist of all time ever Peter Green.

As you probably guessed the video is just a montage of the band, but the audio is live. Glad you enjoyed.
The original and only Fleetwood Mac for me.

Peter Green Fleetwood Mac era is a complete trip. They should have renamed the band after his departure.
My feelings exactly
It was many many years before I knew that Carlos hadn’t written this.
I wouldn't have known!
