You don't have to swap the port if you use the one for lead for everything. Lewd vapor just fills the gaps and makes it REALLY hard to get off. The insert for lead has holes for a wrench! If you keep a 500, handload and it's affordable.
@@CultOfArms 😄 Sleep is the only thing that will restore my vitality! 😴😆 Also, I don't like the fact that it can kill 2 people with 1 shot. That's a little scary for me. 😬 But I appreciate your honest review!
I think only you can answer that question for yourself. I do not own a 44 magnum because I chose to go with S&W500. Though I have owned one in the past and I may own one again in the future.
@@CultOfArms generally speaking revolvers made prior to 2001 had no internal lock. Long story short a certain political group made it a nearly a requirement for new manufactured revolvers to have the lock. A few reason folks don't like em are as follows(opinions I've heard): not traditional, safety is not practical, additional complexities may cause issues with reliability(not realy an issue anymore, was more prevalent with certain air weight revolvers), they look ugly, I don't want the government to be involved with guns. You hear more complaints from the older generation, most new gun owners don't care/don't notice. It's kinda like where some people like veggies and some don't. It's all personal taste. The SW 500 is not meant for self defense against humans, no big bore firearm is meant for defense against humans. It is meant for handgun hunting big game animals.
40 and larger is big bore. If you really want to carry 500 mag for self defense, you can just load them with snake shot or hand load 300 grains at 800fps. Rough equivalent to a 357.

I have this gun and the there is some black oily substance oozing out of the black rubber handle in the back, not sure why.
Sounds like the gun needs to be taken apart and cleaned!
@@CultOfArms I believe its part of the handle and the handle doesn't come off
