If you do not have gear enough to tank like in this video just reset the map to good starting positions and do the elio portal confusion on them to seperate them and kill 1 by 1 (or 2 max) . Open portal 1 turn - they run to the open portal, close 1 turn - they run to you , must be placed at the correct distance and the map starting positions should be long distant one, cha + king playa scepter is real good. 3ap weapon dmg x 2 + 3x tribulation(or lightening fist if there is just 1 in aoe) . If you do not have 12 ap use abyssal , one of them will usually start cc with you. This is what worked for me after trying multiple setups with cha and agi. Good luck getting done with this crappy questline folks.
That's similar to what I had to do for this fight. I needed to reset the map several time for a good position, which is why the first few turns they couldn't reach me. I didn't have enough damage to attack the gloots from across the map so I settled for a tank approach. The gear I used in the video isn't optimal as its a cha/power set, I believe a full chance set for long range damage or full chance + res for tanking might work much better. Such a nasty questline!
