Excellent video, Skyler! The angles and commentary were perfect. Whale of a fire, huh? Stay out of the collapse zone, ok and stay safe out there, my friend.
@10:45 - I don't know what that man was pounding on, but it doesn't matter - he had very little protection, so he was not safe there, with all that glass falling - look what it did to that hose. I'm surprised he was not ordered to move. Edit: @12:50, it seems that he was being warned and that he did move away.
Are you kidding me, a firefighter (boss?) smoking a cigarette at a working fire????? Good job as usual Skyler, but I couldn't watch the rest after I saw that cigarette! Thank God FDNY has more discipline. Hope all residents are OK! 😡
Smoking a cigarette isn’t the worst act in history. But just a handful of decades ago, smoking was considered a normal activity in most every setting. From flying intercontinental jumbo jets to the delivery room of major hospitals, it was a common sight. Smoking marijuana is now more socially accepted than cigarettes in clown world.
Typical fire for mt Vernon I remember years ago back in the 70s I think we got called in on the 4th alarm fire was at 1st st and 1st Ave at least 6 buildings was nothing stopping it till it ran out of buildings cause of balloon construction
Kind of looks like the out of town chiefs are working from a different game book. They need to working with the IC. A lot of face to face, this leaves the troops in the dark....
I appreciate the work you all do covering these jobs. I have 36 years in the fire service. I understand low manpower. It does seem like little to nonwater is flowing from handlines while elevated master streams are being set up. Of course. My only view is from you camera. Be safe.
The old building , fire in the basement or lower , goes apes$ hit up inside runs . Never know where it will show the Devils face . that sure was a hand full of a fire to deal with.
Over the years of watching youtube fires like this. As an old F/F. It's just best NOT to say what I was thinking...as I bit my lip. Thankful not to live there.
Totally unprofessional Chief. Is your smoking habit that bad that you can't wait a few hours. That was the first thing I noticed. I said it once and I've got to say iy again cause I just cant believe what I saw. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL 😢
The glow of the flames along with the water behind them, makes it look like lava spewing up. Destructive and beautiful.
That was complete fire destruction. You and JJ do a great job following these.
Thanks
@@SkylerFire Was this arson it seems like it had too big of a headstart before the fd even got there
Great training video. Aerial operation, water supply, collapse zone, radio communicate, rtc
Thanks for watching
Great video Skyler. It’s nice to get out of the city now and then and see how other departments up there operate.
I try but you know sometimes it’s not so close and traffic and such but when I can I do. Thanks so much!
indeed
Excellent video, Skyler! The angles and commentary were perfect. Whale of a fire, huh? Stay out of the collapse zone, ok and stay safe out there, my friend.
Thx
Great job Sir. Always love your graphics at the start, your radio comms and your narration. Thanks for the work..
Thanks so much!
This is a "Great job"? HAHAHAHA 🤣
Great coverage Skyler. So sorry for the people who lost everything. Stay safe out there..🤗🤗
Thanks for watching
Thank you for everything you do.
Good job man thank you God bless the family's and the heroes
Thanks for watching
Great video. Audio from you is excellent. Stay safe
Thanks
That Mount Vernon Firefighter front centre should NOY be smoking
Bless the person on #2 side who had a table by wind with a lamp on it, never even had smoke damage !
For a long time Ladder 62 seems it was just there to display its pretty blue lights. I'm sure they had their reasons.

People are losing their homes and businesses and the only thing that you're worried about is someone smoking a cigarette. Ok,Karen.
yup remember the gas station, thankfully no gas fumes or gas leaking or whole block could have been a KABOOM
great work and comms Skyler 👍
Very true! Thanks for watching
I always think, tip the broken hose spray towards the building!😂
when you start playing " wack-a-mole" at the windows you miss about 25% of the time...
Skyler: That Building was Interconnected if The Fire is Through out The Whole Building fr. end to end
Great coverage Skyler but, tough to watch!

oh wow!
No wonder it burnt so badly takes 20 min to get water on fire.
How long still no water on fire
So sad. Praying everyone is okay
Thanks
One stubborn fire
Great video Skyler, seems Mt. Vernon and mutual aid seems to be having issues be safe
Thanks for watching
good call on the collapse zone.... their backs are against a lot of green not much room to move fast if needed....
Yeah I am no one to say anything but I was very concerned about the members safety at that point.
Ten minutes and still no water. Anyone can drive a truck and pull hose 😢😂

I hear water works well
Takes awhile when you have very low manpower

Don't they have a fire helicopter that they could use to help put this out?
Pressure or that water drop is very dangerous
Its getting ahead of them need more water
Yeah it was going
Отличная работа наших братьев пожарных из Нью-Йорка, большой привет от пожарных Москвы!!!
Thanks
Our block fire was definitely arson.
Did just see the fire person doing drugs (cigarettes) at a fire ground in front of humans? Time he retires. Just makes you want to puke

Oh dear, that's a bad one. I'm so sad that people have lost their homes and livelihoods.
big fire needs big water... leave the 1 3/4,s on the truck.....
So tragic :(
Got into the cockloft!!! Gone

Is Mt Vernon a career department?
Yes
Another one of the worst fires I’ve ever seen. My heart goes out to the occupants and their families
Thanks for watching

The chief at the command board no protective gear cigarette in his mouth totally unprofessional painful to watch
Not a Chief.
Might be a chief's aid or another member assigned to that duty
@@Samanthareneeheart1 deputy Fire Commish I believe

That is called old school. The cigarette is filter and the lack of turnout gear is so other firefighters have the newest and best stuff😅😅
