I was level 11 and killed him with zero damage taken. Took me 12-13 mins to kill him off. Though it took me 10-15 tries to get hold of his attack pattern
I loved this game. This boss was fairly hard, I didn't know about this quest until later when I went back to explore more> I was level 21, and he was level 20 so The higher you are the harder he gets too. After about 8 tries I got him, I HATE that spin move!!!

I did this about 7 years ago with just the normal weapons and I've never raged so hard trying to defeat a boss. I was so under leveled and unprepared but I beat him. Probably died over 60 times trying. Just wanted to see 7 years from then if people we also struggling like I was. Keep the struggle gamers.

@murnavid Have you played dark souls? The game encourages exploration. The player is meant to encounter this boss, realize that it's too hard for how unequipped they are, and come back when they are prepared. It doesnt hold the players hand like a baby. You understand?

You can also go to Vulgrim, make a quick respec and get the shield ability that gives you around 500 resistance for 8 seconds. Always keep two armor sets at all time with you, defense and resistance, in case you find a element attack type of enemies. Anyway i went after him after finishing the Dead City, lvl 18 and geared, it was a bit of an overkill.
brief tactic. dodge two attacks the 3rd will see his axe stuck in the ground. attack him with all you got- the grapple closes the distance quick if you use it. then his shield goes in the ground roll away. dodge his ram and whirlwind then repeat. it's a case of hit when you can but avoid his attacks at all costs!
Two things to help people with dodging and timing attacks. 1) His big single hit that immobilizes him for a few seconds, he will always hit his hammer to his shield. 2) His spin move, prior to him doing it he will always bring his hammer above his head and tap his head.
yoo man great vid, and btw, trying using the dodge attack when ur coming in him, the scythe spins dealing lots of damage and chacne of crit, and trying getting flipsaw, its so useful
Manufactured, you should really go to the crucible on the bottom left corner of your map, after 5 waves of enemies you can either take the loot which is pretty awesome of go deeper into the crucible. Although you don't gain experience, you get awesome l00t
-face palms- -_- I should have known I would need a weapon from one of the 4 bosses but Achidna's fangs help to, they sap health with each hit and also the Lich Spines damage him too, since the Lord of Bones used them to depose him( had to get to level 18 to beat him)
Did him right when I enter the Dead realm, Apocaliptic.Took me like 5 tries to get adopted the fight was ridiculously long. He's so much easier than Bheithir, u can dodge all his moves easily,cirle around him and kite him to the edge b4 he whirlwind (WW) that's it. His rotation is pretty easy to get: WW - big smash - small smash - shield charge - WW, he doesn't do a skill twice between 2 WWs. So try to lure him to the edge using his own Block skill (yep u get to his side but he charged forward)

Arcane is the way to go against him! Fought him @ level 21 twice and died pretty fast. Did a respec to focus on necromancer, and won on next attempt. He barely touched me, key is to stay as far away as possible, and let your ghouls and crows do all the work. I'm starting to be a believer of necromancer.
use the black demise scythes or a possessed weapon with a high critical hit, if the talons are the best you have, ( random weapons each time) by all means use it... recommend completing the city of the dead before you attempt this guy. other than that great walkthrough for argul
Currently lvl 14 and I had trouble with him so I'm here but I was able to get him down 3/4 while below lvl 15. All you gotta do is not get hit by the one shot AT ALL. Gonna try to wait till I hit 15 so i can use those flame scythes
To beat this boss it just takes a lot of patient and once you got the attack pattern its your pretty much good to go as long as you don't loose focus also use your minions I find them very useful for this guy if you are to challenge him at a very low level like I did.

And @ the comment that said "1000 Weapon damage, nice!" My scythes do over 2k a hit, and my hammer does 2k-7k a hit, both have 20%+ Lifesteal and 20%+ Wrath Steal, and 30% crit, I also have a 30% crit amulet, and all my armor has crit damage.

I died twice to this boss.After that believe me i killed him with perfect health(Normal Difficulty). You just have to figure out right techniques.Teleport-slash was really helpful,use it when he tries immobilizing blow
I beat him at level 13 then I was extremely disappointed when I learned that I couldn't use his weapon until 7 levels later I beat him with flaming ghouls and amazing positioning I managed to get him in one corner and me in the other corner when ever he used his spin attack took like 8 tries and 1 hour

When he is about to do that attack that freezes you get close to him and use teleport slash to get behind him and then button mash away. very helpful if you are low level. if you are low on wrath potions just strafe around him and shoot him with your gun to gain some wrath back quickly. i still dont understand what arcane does.

first u need to finish up in the forge lands finishing the guardian so he free up ur path to the tree from there u go to the lands beyond ( kingdom of the dead )
Does the AOE of his Freezing heavy attack increase with game difficulty? I have been stuck on this boss when I started Nightmare difficulty, and I finished the game about 3 times. I swear, I am nowhere near the attack when he does it, but it still freezes me.
I went to fight this guy at level 15 with fire equipment...worst choice i made but eventually i got the timing down for his attacks and only used 2 potions and alot of ghouls to distract his twister move
This was the first boss I found from this side-quest and i got killed so many times , it was funny i got 1-hit killed by that atack over and over again till i finaly could dodge all atack whitout getting hit , and i was only lvl 11
My lv10 possessed gaunlets actually much stronger than BHeithirs talon, it deals like 800 dmg per hit that helps me finish this king early. He is kind of dumb, I only have to run around toying with him, no need to dodge :)

U Can Punish Him More With The Ded Grab Tbh. After The Shield Bash And The 2 hit Combo U Can Max Do 3 Hit Combo's And After That He Parry's You But Eazy Dodge ^^
I just beat him in deathinitive dificulty, gotta say he has the most bullshit hit in this game, the heavy hammer hit me without fail if i was in any angle in front of him (for example he hit the hammer in the floor, i was in his shield side and somehow still got hit) and the same attack just killed me instantly, level 22 with good armor, the insane damage and frostburn outpaced the healing potion, just saved myself at the last moment with reaper form
Of course I also had def out the f***ing wazoo and his fire practically did crap... And how do u kill the invisible monster outside the skeleton key door?
No. Applying think of the mechanics of the fight, it just doesn't work. I beat him lvl 16, and was an effort, you cannot put out the DPS to down him in that time at lvl 13. XD
i was level 12 when I killed him... you just need to dodge, once you have that down you could basically just fight him all day. I didn't get hit at all on the attempt that I killed him.
This tutorial sucks... you didnt tell us where to find the key or that it's a key that you have to go out of your way for. You dont unlock all doors by "completing the dungeon" you have to find the key to the elevator at the bottom of the spiral staircase.

Deathinitive edition and same difficulty, have beaten the third part of the game and found the angel key, idk why does he do so MUCH damage

When he raises his arm for the freeze strike, teleport slash, then harvester blade. That way you keep generating wrath for the next teleport slash.
actually if u don't feel like dodging his mace attacks normally, u can use the scythe dash to get behind him when he does it. Works every time :)

@Hilo629 after completeing the Forge Land's main questline, you are transported to the Kingdom of the Dead. After that just look at the map.
Tip for that ice smash , teleport slash and you can dodge it pretty easy.

The safest way to defeat this guy for me is using the arm blade charged attack, which is a ranged one. I used the ghouls as distractions as well :)
