Ross. It’s such a joy to watch your thought process and then the process of putting it all together .I’m sure there is many hours of pondering and planning but the long term benefits of all these modifications will be worth it.Thanks for your content and keep up the great work.
Great vision to change the helm and incorporating the winches and ensuring clear way for the lines. Lots of work to come in the helm. Keep up the great work.
I'm just amazed at how good you guys are at thinking ahead. Big boat builders have a bunch of design engineers on computers spending days figuring out all the details and you guys are just doing it on the fly and making it look beautiful!!!! Been watching from the beginning and I see you do this time and time again. Looking at how you want to use the boat and adjusting things to work best for you in your head and then implementing those ideas real time. Just incredible. Cant wait to see you enjoying the boat on the water.
Hi, I am a French guy, my English is disastrous but I still decided to make a comment. I’ve been watching your videos since and wow, it’s a real titan’s job. The design of the rear access steps is incredible and you have barely finished them as you tackle the modification of your cockpit which will be, I have no doubt, also incredible. Congratulations and I’ll go back to see the rest of your videos. Again sorry for my terrible English
Great work Ross looking good. Your work really demonstrates just how great GRP is, even without a mold you can construct just about anything you can imagine. 👍
Good to see you on your feet again Janet. And that’s why they call it a fibreglass boat lol. Non stop fibreglass. Lol but love seeing it all get done Roscoe! Great job and videoing as well. Nice and clear. ❤
The sugar scoops look great but you are a much braver man than I for cutting into the helm station. I know it’ll look great and work great when you’re finished but cutting up such nice work to get there?!! Keep up the good work.
Sitting here in the dark after the hurricane that just blew thru Fl, and get a notice that Ross has dropped a video, you bet I'm watching. Thanks for a good time time!!
I really am in awe of your skills! You, and now Janet, who is quite an artisan herself, now, have consistently turned out something that will satisfy for a lifetime. Every time you look at that helm position for hours on end while on watch, you will recall all the effort that went into it! I am so impressed with your redesign of the wheel. I know that stainless can be labor intensive to maintain looking good, but switching to cardboard is just brilliant! It will be so much lighter and more easily stored when not needed at the helm position! And I would never have considered reinforcing the instrument panel, after the cutaway mods, with the "blue structural engineering tape". Now, even seagulls can land and walk around on it without the panel flexing! I look forward to seeing the design for the cat-kayak dinghy you will build as your tender to Double Bias! And this must be a milestone in passing the halfway point to completion! Only 4 more years to go!
Too funny Brian. If this half way, I am walking off the job man.The cardboard and masking tape is the very fabric of my creations and I won't have them besmirched.lol.Cheers mate.Ross
Hello Janet, hello Ross. You are really inspiring, seeing your support for each other. Building a boat like this I not only time consuming and costly, it requires all the love a couple can give. I’m not sure if I can imagine your both individual efforts on this journey. Therefore you have my greatest respect. Best Regards Roman
Fantastic customization of the helm station! The smooth routing and transitions of the lines is going to make for such enjoyable operation. I am thinking you will be smiling every time you use the clutches and winches!
Ross you've got amazing design skill and to be able to visualize these add ons and then follow through with your ideas is amazing to me. I couldn't cut away at something I had worked so hard to complete ,maybe that's why you are going to end up with a boat that's not only state of art but a boat everyone is going to wish they had. Janet is such a great partner to support all the changes and support you 100%. You are a blessed man.
Looks like when your on Holliday your still working on your boat 👍 I do the same with trim and cabinets everywhere I go, the work and redesign to the cat that you 2 have done is mind blowing, great work 👍.
Ross stop making holes in your new boat… 🤣😂. That said brilliant idea. Love the sugar scoop modifications. You did well, well thought out and beautifully implemented 👍🏼
Well well well.. I've caught up! I used the last couple of weeks binge watching this series.. I've done a TINY bit of fiberglass work, so I have a small idea of how hard it is to master.. So watching you knowledge and expertise here was really cool.. Hell of a job Ross and fam.. Keep it up, its really coming together now!
Suggestion: leave clearance at the bottom of the console for kick/toe space as you would have with kitchen cabinetry. Regards another Ross who has been appreciating the sharing of your journey.
I do believe in you Ross and I love what you are doing. It's been an amazing journey so far and I am sure that you and Janet will end up with an incredible boat. The best thing is that it is going to be exactly how you want it. It will be quite a day when she finally gets lowered into the water! Be safe and stay Healthy!
Wow Ross & Janet - I've been away for a little bit and was amazed at the progress you guys have made - Absolutely love what you have been able to achieve. Janet occasionally my wife Helen says the same things about some of the work i do on the Sea Kayak - I had procrastinated for over 2 months on how to strengthen and replace a rudder system on my sea kayak. IN the end she said take it up the road to my mates house to "do it". Funny what 2 months of thinking did - it merely took us 20 minutes of work to implement what in the end was a simple solution to the problem (Which at the start seemed monumental). We then took the boats to Cape Otway and were greeted by a few humpback breaching and happily swimming around us - it was like being at JB, only with water temps of 13 degrees 🤣. Love to all Bewsy ♥. Go Cats 🏆(ps Nephew played in the AFL winning team - yey)
Yessir. The scoops look awesome! Fair dinkum Ross! Let’s see how the helm station turns out. Interesting mod at this point sir! Fair winds with the Mono too! I sail a Catalina 270 for the record.
When Ross says he is going to modify something that requires him to cut a hole in his boat, you can bet hard money it's going to be good. So far it's been brilliant! Regards, Solomon
Don't sweat the music. While I appreciate a well edited video with spot-on musical choices, I also recognize the incredible amount of extra effort that requires. I think most of us are here to follow your composite work, the lack of a soundtrack makes it no less fascinating. The helm station is going to be spectacular!
Great work guys. It looks amazing. Every mod improves function so is worth all the stress, planning and hard work. Will the roof still be structurally sound? That cut removed a lot of structure and is close to the window. No need for music. I sing my own while watching. Today was “ the first cut is the deepest “. Lol Looking forward to seeing you all soon. Loved Lexis cameo today. She is such a darling. ❤❤
Makes perfect sense to customize the boat. IMO it's going to pay off big time when you're cruising it. You're lucky that the missus is so understanding, again i say. If i'd try to stretch some goals like that i'd get bonked, i still do for taking my time. :))
When you think about the sail winches, you said you want one motorized and one manual crank wind. Make sure that you have room for both of these to have motors. I say that, because down the road you'll want the second one electric also. But overall - it's looking great!
The hatch in the stairs is turning out brilliantly. The vision is coming clear and wow very nice obviously a ton of work but it's paying off. Stay safe
Regarding the music, Ross - we love to see the progress of your build! If we would listen to music, there are other channels/videos with this. For now, just keep focusing on your beautiful build!
Wow, I am so looking forward to seeing this sailor sail past me in Moreton bay one day! What an amazing effort the team here have done and love the new camera angles!
Your design skills are just killer. You have some background and you’ve seen a few examples sure but you just have an eye for ergonomics! I would love to sail a boat designed by you (someone else can build it I think you’ve got enough build for now!😜). A+ all day!
You obviously need your own house band. How do you feel about Trombone based polka style epic saga rock operas? Our hit single "Fred the baker makes a trek to get more flour, except it rains and also there was a dragon" has sold quite well, with 3 copies so far, 2 of which we think weren't accidental misclicks!
Hi Ross, I was thinking about your electric window problem, I don't know how you would do it, but I would modify a sunroof from a car, they can withstand the pressure from petrol pressure washers so waves should be no problem as long as you modify it correctly, with your skills that should be a breeze, best wishes to you both.
For something like background music, you could look at what Epidemic Music offers. There's a monthly subscription fee, but there's both proper music, and sound effects too. Something to consider.
Great intro by Janet and Lexi!!! Wow, that helm in the picture was laid out nicely and your decision to modify yours is a fantastic idea! All the mods you’re making are incredible, and I wonder.....did you plan your holiday to have a good look at that model? Anyway, in the long run you’ll have one hell of a total custom build that nobody, absolutely nobody will ever have!!!
I prefer the voice overs telling us real facts and reasons, anyway we wouldn't hear the music over the sander, multi tool and angle grinder !! Looks a great station for a short handed crew.
youtube audio copyrights are a garbage fire. Someone has been copyrighting sound effects, so if you have a siren or the wrong wind noise you can get a strike. I'd just give up and go with the happy Ross babbling noises :)
Just Hum while doing the work we will guess the tune am sure you will not get a copy infringement :) You might get free tomato's lol :) Great work by the both of you.
Those transoms are looking amazing. Similar to a modern 50’ cat. Sorry to hear about people stealing your revenue, i enjoy the music more than the sound of a sander or grinder .😉
Bonjour, je ne comprend pas du tout ce que tu dis, car je ne parle pas votre langue, mais je me régale de regarder vos vidéos et la construction de votre bateau.A ma connaissance nous n'avons pas de personnes qui effectuent la même chose en France.
Thank you Jojo, I am happy to hear from you and am sorry I cannot speak French.Janet has spoken French in her past but cannot speak fluent French. Please enjoy our videos.Rossco.
If it was anyone but you Ross, I would say what an idiot to cut into the glass. However, after watching you for all of your build videos, I am sure it will work into a great looking mod.
Map Surface, too? Please be careful with Cabosil, fumed silica. It's silicosis in a cup. P.S. for corners, you can fluff up the matte/cloth by rubbing it between your hands to break up the starch that holds it together. Where I worked, they used an old electric dryer for that purpose, on the large pieces.
Hello from Ontario Canada, While some music is nice during time lapse and I’m ok if it’s your own original music, I think a voice over can add relative information to the video while cutting down on the time spent actually talking about it during the working process. This in theory should allow more productivity… but let Janet do the voiceovers, it’s time she got to do some easier work for a change, while you get busy Ross! Lol Of course that’s a bit of a joke. Looking good 👍. Poor Janet can't even take a day off to do a bit of gardening and you cut another big hole in her boat. Then she puts on a brave face and does the intro. What a fantastic lady she deserves better. Only messing great work guys
Looking amazing! I notice you are going with Garmin, we are looking at a new suit of electronics on our boat. So I am wondering if you had a specific reason for Garmin as opposed to say B&G?
I BELIEVE! I BELIEVE! You've not let me down yet mate!
We don’t need any music just to watch you doing a labor of love 👍cheers from California
Ross. It’s such a joy to watch your thought process and then the process of putting it all together .I’m sure there is many hours of pondering and planning but the long term benefits of all these modifications will be worth it.Thanks for your content and keep up the great work.
Keep up your good work! Thnx for letting us follow your efforts!
Thanks Mats,we really appreciate you watching and commenting.Great stuff.Ross

In Rosco we Trust!!! I belive in your modifications and cutting holes in the boat.
No music is totally good. You are an excellent narrator. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s working !
Voice overs 💯 agree are the way to go. Love your channel and all you and Janet have accomplished thus far. ❤️ ✌️

The time lapse with your over comments is a great combo and can be just as good or better than music as long as it doesn't slow your work.
So cool to see those shapes start to look so great and so close to being done! You get an 'atta boy!'
Thanks Mike.Lots coming up as we begin to integrate everything and install systems that will make the boat complete.Rossco
Sitting here in the dark after the hurricane that just blew thru Fl, and get a notice that Ross has dropped a video, you bet I'm watching. Thanks for a good time time!!
Ohh mate glad to hear you are safe. What a beast it was, hope you have sustained no damage. All the best.Ross
Same here, we’re blessed to be safe and able to watch. The destruction is unspeakable.

@@LifeOnTheHulls Glad you laughed. You could use it!
The best episode you have edited, No music is the way to go

Just beautiful work Mate!
Great episode this week 👍
I miss your videos being longer, loving the modifications . She’s going to be a beautiful boat when she’s finished.
I do and I don’t. Tho I think they have always varied. I generally can carve out 15-20 mins. But 30… well sometimes that’s more than I have
Awesome work! Looks amazing.
They are looking better every day and both of you keep the good work up .
looking great keep up the great work
Ross stop making holes in your new boat… 🤣😂. That said brilliant idea. Love the sugar scoop modifications. You did well, well thought out and beautifully implemented 👍🏼
Thanks Ash, it is a mission for sure mate.Ross
We have faith in ya my friend!
I am so looking forward to you two enjoying your hard work. Inspiring stuff guys and just keep smash it. Well done!

I really liked having your narration instead of the music. But whatever you choose, I’ll watch.
Excellent work Ross like the helm and winch design Function is key when you get out on the water 👍
Thanks Tom.I honestly feel if we can operate the whole sail plan from one place it will make for safer sailing.Ross
So glad to hear that I won't hear any music!!!
Great video as always!
We believe, we believe. And the bell on the Christmas tree rings... another Angle just got their wings...😁

Scoops really starting to take shape now mate. Keep up the good work. May be hard but its worth it. BZ
love to see you sailing
New title....Catamaran Chop Shop.
It's not a nice feeling cutting into a deck but she's looking the part and all the better for your signature on it👍

All the custom touches are making this yacht what it’s keep this great work going mate
Its really coming together
Everybody subscribe! Ross has been working for several years now to keep us entertained with fiberglass cruising Cat building videos.
Don't sweat the music. While I appreciate a well edited video with spot-on musical choices, I also recognize the incredible amount of extra effort that requires. I think most of us are here to follow your composite work, the lack of a soundtrack makes it no less fascinating. The helm station is going to be spectacular!
Great intro. you said it like I think about it;
Nice work mate good luck with that helm station get it right its the spot where all the business happens
great job
Really like the time lapse as you describe what you're thinking
Ross is just having fun!
I know I would. It’s not about the boat, it’s the journey.

Haha,I can see you riding your vesper singing that mate.Looking forward to seeing you.It has been too long.
Those sugar scoops are starting to look pretty good. Try to keep all your new holes above the waterline though! 😉
Makes perfect sense to customize the boat. IMO it's going to pay off big time when you're cruising it. You're lucky that the missus is so understanding, again i say. If i'd try to stretch some goals like that i'd get bonked, i still do for taking my time. :))
lovely work as usual 💯💙

Those sugar shovels (too big to be scoops) are looking great
great work 😊
Nice work 👍

The stern will be amazing, as will the helm. Great work Russ!
Your boat is coming along so nicely!! Well done to you two!!
Happy dog!
Ross sing to the grinder and vac that be a treat
Good one people
great video
Wonderful stuff
Thanks Mark.Plenty more to come buddy. Ross
going for the CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) approach. It's the best route!
Wow, I am so looking forward to seeing this sailor sail past me in Moreton bay one day! What an amazing effort the team here have done and love the new camera angles!
great work!

shifting time lapse works
youra custom builder legend
Look grate
Thanks Danny
I would name her Janet !
Building a boat wasn't difficult enough for you hey Rossco 😆 you need to cut it up, do more work and do it your way 👍
Magnifico☆☆☆☆☆☆
If it was anyone but you Ross, I would say what an idiot to cut into the glass. However, after watching you for all of your build videos, I am sure it will work into a great looking mod.
Come to Rumble where life is freer.
Keep up the great work . I'm sure I must have missed your mention of what or why your old buddy from accros the road has vanished ?

Hello from Ontario Canada,
While some music is nice during time lapse and I’m ok if it’s your own original music, I think a voice over can add relative information to the video while cutting down on the time spent actually talking about it during the working process. This in theory should allow more productivity… but let Janet do the voiceovers, it’s time she got to do some easier work for a change, while you get busy Ross! Lol
Of course that’s a bit of a joke.
Keep doing what you do, I love it.
Cheers
Aaron
Looking good 👍.
Poor Janet can't even take a day off to do a bit of gardening and you cut another big hole in her boat.
Then she puts on a brave face and does the intro.
What a fantastic lady she deserves better.
Only messing great work guys
Looking amazing! I notice you are going with Garmin, we are looking at a new suit of electronics on our boat. So I am wondering if you had a specific reason for Garmin as opposed to say B&G?
