these plates magnetic on both sides or only on back? Is it possible to use magnet on front or it will damage painting? On plate you shown I could distinguish layers of paint (?)
@@VitaliiThe Only the back is magnetic. Well done for spotting the layers. That's only because it's a limited edition displate. The normal ones don't have layers

I finally was accepted to Displate! It took months and a few different emails but I finally made it. It took my unique collection that I have been creating for months to get in! I know I could go crazy and just upload all kinds of stuff but I think I will keep it to the collection that got me in for now... - Heidi
That's amazing congratulations 🎉👏 What type of designs did you submit for the application? Just to give others a hint what might work
@@PhilipAnders I don't think the design mattered as much as the presentation and quantity as mentioned more below.
They should do something unique and different. I got lucky that I started on this collection months before even knowing about Displate and should have sent my first two requests with these but I didn't...
My first two requests had 16 works and were all over the place with no cohesive theme at all. I think 8 was better and a theme/collection that all had something in common even if the backgrounds were different.
Watercolor background with a digital graphic (same 3 over and over) added to the watercolor backgrounds. It's all in one theme. Making a new one for the collection now because I got on Displate and have one more upload for the day.
One thing I think may have helped the most is that I had 8 total images in my portfolio and mentioned that was only part of the set.
Turns out 8 images minimum is what they want for each collection to start and also have a collection that has a cohesive theme seems to matter a great deal.
I think that, as well as my art, is what swung the vote in my favor. :)

@@PhilipAnders So just to give an update I have already had 3 sales in just a couple of weeks! It's awesome. :) I hope it stays like this all the time but I think it is more because of Christmas. I have noticed major increases everywhere I have my designs. - Heidi
@@BlackCat_2 Amazing good job!! Christmas helps a lot but if you keep uploading quality designs daily sales can definitely become the norm ;)
@@PhilipAnders Well I don't know about daily... maybe weekly :) I don't want to flood it with everything I have created since 2006 like I did with Redbubble. I want to keep Displate more for what I think are my best creations and my photographs that I take. Thanks for the "amazing good job" comment. :) - Heidi

I applied about two months ago and I had a portfolio of about a dozen different designs. About 2/3 of them used the same type of design style, and then the other 1/3 were of a different design style. I'm not sure if that helped or not, but I think it showed that I could easily create collections of different artworks that would go together. So when I applied I simply created a page on my squarespace website, sent an email that said I design under a particular pseudonym and provided a link to the webpage. It was a short yet professional sounding email, but I provided the info they wanted and they got back to me pretty quick... saying they thought my artwork was "interesting"... which I think is so funny, because they probably say that to everybody they accept.

I upscaled a midjourney image with topaz ai but the pixel/inch which I believe is the same as dpi, is 72. If I change it to 300 in Photoshop it makes the file size 1.5 GB

it would have to be in a 5:7 Aspect Ratio to fit the Displate Dimensions. Upscaling the Ai Art is a must, I'd recommend replicate.com/nightmareai/real-esrgan

what do you mean by a commercial license, like the one I have with midjourney? How can I get the midjourney to properly create the proper aspect ratiofor displate creation 1:1.4
if you mean license for star wars etc, you'd have to get that from the brand directly and it's very expensive. But non branded midjourney designs you can sell if you have got a subscription. --ar 5:7 would recreate the 1:1.4 aspect ratio

Yes it is normally, amazon merch also asks for RBG though. Don't ask me why

Hard to say as they don't give you a total count. But there is definitely a few hundred to 1k designs if I had to guess

Can I sell blue willow or playground ai art in displate?
I asked Displate if they allow Ai Art and they said yes. The quality has to be good enough though

don't use blue willow the quality is not as good so I don't think they will accept them

how do you get the AI art work to be accepted on displate as they don't like it if you change the image so upscaling may mean the it gets declined
who doesn't like if you change the image? Upscaling is a necessity as the plain files are just to blurry for displates. I have had some ai submissions rejected and some accepted so far. Couldn't tell you what the exact reasons are
I have upscaled for displate but the is a gap around the picture i don't think it will fill the full metal print do I just need to change the size of the image

@@PhilipAnders I used a AI Image from midjournrey but when I resize it the image does not look right so I did a size that is over those measurements that looks right but when I upload to displate it does not cover the full print so I can see the black background but it does not match the background of the image you get like a boarder around the image I hope that makes sense
I just want my AI image to cover the full metal print but not sure how to do that I can di it easy when it just a vector image but when the image looks like a photograph or is a photograph I struggle
