They sell you a truck but you can only haul their loads then they don't give you enough work to pay off the truck and you end up giving it up. Old scam, midwest dist. Used to do that
That is true for most lease deals. But, I have leased 3 trucks and paid them all off. Of the 20 years I have spent at my carrier I have been in a lease 7 years. The problem is not the lease. The problem is who the carrier leases to.
The problem is knowing what carriers are good to work for alot of reveiws can be bots and wouldnt even know until you work for them for about 3-4 months
99.99 % of these company leases are crap. I did find a good one years ago with arctic express in hillard ohio and actually made good money. Got a new truck with only 37 miles on it . Paid it off in 3 years and averaged around $1900.00 a week take home after everything. Know a lot of guys that lost there butt. For some reason I did good with them we got 78% of the line haul plus fuel. Of course I had a the same great dispatcher for the entire 16 years I was with them. Had a Friend Chuck Alexander who also did the same with them.
Like CR England. I made that mistake twice. First time I owed them money second time I made great money for a month then pay check was $0 nope not gonna happen
Man ya truck drivers tryna make it a one size fits all approach…everyone’s life situation is different. I do lease walk away cuz it fits my lifestyle. work around YOUR LIFE NOT others
Just finished CDL school, been looking around, and even just outta school, almost all companies that will take a new driver tell me about the lease program. Thank goodness I know better.
Sir I could not agree with you more! I bought my truck straight out with financing from the bank. And still went out of business because of the breakdowns.
Lease-Purchase programs have always been a scam. I've seen some that want $1,000 a week for 10yrs. That's half a million dollars for a truck that only between $110K-$150K brand new depending on what your getting.
Not sure if owners get the same guff but if I drove a truck seems owning your own rigs the only way. Fuel costs maintenance sucks but you wouldn’t have to deal with the bs others do I feel
Pulled wrenches for 27yrs. Some of the working conditions for drivers are absolutely ridiculous. Some guys told me things that were flat illegal. Being forced to go overloaded and strongly encouraged to lie about service hours or else.
The lease program is a way that companies finance their fleets. People go and sign on to lease a truck from the company, get lots of work to begin with. But as the truck is getting close to being paid off, they cut the trips and income to the point where the driver has to give up the truck. The company pays out the rest to the finance company and owns the truck. But the driver paid for 95 % of it. Years ago there was a company I worked for that did that exact thing. Good thing for me I only did city work.
Works to get a truck or learn if you want to take the next step or become a company driver again. On my 3rd truck. Had my own company and all that. Moving back to a single truck operation.
I fell for it, at first I made a killing, but once the truck broke down I stayed in the whole after that, and once I got back ahead they kept finding ways to take money, so yeah I walked away and the enjoyment I had from driving went away so I walked away from the industry. Every once in awhile I will help out a friend of mine but I have never been back in a truck full time.
Your going to see more experienced drivers at mega carriers again.. like the 90s ,2000s...no one wants to own a truck anymore especially with D.E.F ..(NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS ) before you even hit 100k miles on new trucks...most of Chicago companies have become absolute Garbage ...very few left with some integrity..
I was thinking of doing a lease purchase with MN89, but the more I thought about it, the more research i did, and the more RUclips videos like this I saw, I decided to take a position with a regular carrier. Sure! I Wont make the money those walk-away lease purchase companies promise, but at least I will NOT have the expenses nor the problem of feeding myself.
He ain't lying folks!!! It's true it's real and been a Big deal for many yrs now. They just keep tweaking the wording slightly to make it appear more beneficial to you. But you end up NEVER being able to own the truck AND you work yourself into the ground and end up paying THEM to do it!
True,,,what cracked me up is u see a lease driver, and they think their owner operators😅😅😅,,all they are doing is paying the bank note for the company, and paying the up keep
How do I stay away from a crap carrier if I’m a rookie nobody want to hire me but a crap carrier does I’ve been thinking of going Schneider are they a crap carrier?

They’re already telling you to walk away. Just do it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m hollering
You know your going to get shanked when during orientation all you hear about is their "leasing" program
You are a true professional and an asset to the trucking industry I love your videos and your podcasts
My advice is to always get your own experience everyone doesn’t have the same goal
Thank you. Save your money, buy your own rig.
The problem is knowing what carriers are good to work for alot of reveiws can be bots and wouldnt even know until you work for them for about 3-4 months
I like seeing your messages and you really know what u r talking about keep posting
I can definitely agree with that! I always thought those were not the way to go..... for me anyway.
say what yall want. But I take home over 3000 a week with a walk away lease. it takes money to make money
But every company driver you talk to thats leasing a company truck makes a million dollars a load!!..
To hear them tell it.
It works well if your carrier allows you to use the load board. ...If they don't have a load board don't even try it.
The whole country today is about shift of liability if we have shift liability some folks get bigger and some folks get smaller.

They should call them run away leases, because it goes down hill from day one.
Stevens transport got me on a lease purchase. It cost me more the operate than I was able to net.
Fleece purchase programs

Is anyone familiar with Warren Transport lease program? Is it good bad or ok?
What most of the drivers don't understand how much a walj away lease cost. They lease payments maybe walk away but all the expenses are not walk away.
So sorry to hear this. I thought that was actually a good option to make money 😢
Without about partner logistics ?

So how do I get a truck
Hay I know a guy who here drivers in North Dakota and won't pay them
I know a lot of people who did walk away lease and they own their truck now
They're called walk away because the driver just walks away after being screwed without any lube.
OMG THIS IS SO SAD INDEED, BUT IT HAPPENS SADLY 😥
Those guys aren’t Owner Operators, they’re Maintenance Operators, they maintain a truck they will never own. Lol

If you can't go to your bank and borrow the money for a truck because your credit isn't good enough, you have no business buying a truck.
