I'm surprised that I didn't fully wear this video out as a seven year old kid back in 1988. I would watch this, and Blood Sweat & Gears with Sergeant Slaughter almost religiously.
@750Bruteforce Thank you! Truck pullers are an awesome group of people & we had a lot of fun! To this day, I can still hear the sound - more like the roar - of those engines on the super-modifides. There's nothing like it! I'd love a re-do!
@1Teresa I hear you, the truck/tractor pull was always my favorite event. Me an an dad loved them all especially Big Ben an the banter brothers 6 engine tractor.
@750Bruteforce I think I remember the brothers! I like tractor pulling, but love the truck pulling! It sounds like you have some good memories of them too!
I have been looking for this for years. My dad rented this vhs for him and I to watch and I have been wanting to see it again. Thanks Robbie Williams and thank you RUclips.
Glad Im not the only person who played this tape til it unraveled when they were a kid. Lots of amazing memories brought back from this. Thanks for uploading... though kind of a bummer some of the songs had to be muted (especially the 1812 Overture... thought was public domain by now).
Hammerhead547 never going to happen someone at the monster jam office destroyed 75% of the video archives. They don't care about the history of monster trucks and indoor motorsports
That sucks, Personally I can't stand watching modern Monster Jam events because I find them boring and lacking in personality which I guess explains why they'd prefer that everyone forgot about the days when monster trucks weren't just giant sandrails with plastic bodies on them.
@@stefandwoodham Why? These vehicles had personality and were legit feats of engineering. Today's monster jam is a dull lifeless parade of giant sand rails with big tires that "compete" in fixed events for a "championship" that has no real meaning or value.
God what I would give for HD remasters of this stuff. I’m 21 and I grew up watching this on my dad’s VHS player, before being introduced to Hot Wheels and other racing or automotive related things. I miss this. I really do. I lost interest in Monster Jam about 8 years ago because Tom Meents who was the most creative driver imo, stopped racing as much. But man. Finding this gem on RUclips really made my day so much better. Thank you for keeping this here.
Watching this started it for me. Had to rent/buy every vid that had monsters, muddin, and pullin I could find. Since I didn t have cable, it was rare for me to catch ESPN shows unless my aunt taped them for me. Then I had to go to the live events. Living 2 hrs from Nashville, TN. I didn t get to see many live monster truck events. Did get to see local pulling events in Lafayette, TN. Fast forward 30 yrs and I m still going to events when I can. Thanks for posting the catalyst for a 30+ yr passion.
Gracias por compartir me trajo muchos recuerdos tenia este vhs de niño.... amaba este cassette , lo perdi por prestarlo .. y hoy despues de unos largos años lo vuelvo a ver....
I know the original owner of Heavy metal monster van at 19:50 he is the owner of personal touch auto body in the Bronx New York if you go to his website there is about a 20 min video about the truck from when it was sitting on 35 inch tires up to when it was sitting on 73s great little video and a little history lesson about an unpopular truck that is now gone
+Forehead Jones no sir the van had no interior whatsoever just a half ass roll cage and some tube steel welded where the dog house would of been for the motor it ran a 460 ford pushing 500 hp not a competitive truck but it did look good the rear doors had amazing airbrush art check out that website personal touch auto body
Oh the memories! I had this tape when I was a kid. Does anyone know the song that starts at 8:38 to 10:37...? I would be very grateful. Thank you for the memories. :-)
My favorite part was always 26:42-28:41. Wish someone could tell me what that soundtrack is through that time line. Loved watching that old Pontiac crash into the cars and see a fire flash under the front end.
Are you talking about Star Trax the tank ? I remember seeing it in action at a few pulls in the late 80s/early 90s in TN. Even got to climb up behind the levers for a bit. If only...😁 Great memories.
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays from 4:56 to 6:32? I have been trying to find out forever and everyone I ask has no clue. I still have this VHS tape, always was one of my favorites when I was a kid.
Holy crap. I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid.
I'm surprised that I didn't fully wear this video out as a seven year old kid back in 1988. I would watch this, and Blood Sweat & Gears with Sergeant Slaughter almost religiously.
My Dad John Hansen's in here for a nano second driving his 2wd Why Not Chevy Blazer. See him at 10 mins 10 seconds in. These were the good 'ol days!
I wish my dad/ family had a pulling team. Your childhood rocked!!!

@1Teresa I do remember the Why Not truck. Being from Tennessee I remember the funny car Tennessee Thunder. It's in the video red funny car.
Dude!I haven’t seen this vhs classic in ages..Ordered from a book club fundraiser at school in 5th grade.
I have been looking for this for years. My dad rented this vhs for him and I to watch and I have been wanting to see it again. Thanks Robbie Williams and thank you RUclips.

This video will live on. At 39 I still love it.
It would be so nice if the USHRA would re-release these videos on remastered DVD.

Hammerhead547 that's why I'm now into mega trucks and mud racing again
No....this needs to be forgotten

Why?
These vehicles had personality and were legit feats of engineering.
Today's monster jam is a dull lifeless parade of giant sand rails with big tires that "compete" in fixed events for a "championship" that has no real meaning or value.
Dude!!! I used to watch this over and over as a kid. Thank you!!!
One of the greatest all time monster truck tapes.
Mistertbones had this as a kid in the eighties. Loved this tape.
It must be..had no idea it was that popular

+Wild n the young If I remember right it was a full custom van. It had tons of work just in the body and interior.

That was Rolin' Thunder.
Heavy Metal is Not Rollin Thunder.
I have this whole thing on VHS. Right on.
Wish they'd re release these ol vhs tapes on blu ray...
Whoa I spent so long thinking the song at 28:14 was Right Now by Van Halen, my whole life is a lie.
back when monster trucks were trucks, and not a fiberglass shell on a standardized framework
Jesus Christ, where has time gone.
I remeber this but wheres the version with the music "big Shot" for the bigfoot segment?

There was a reissue of this original tape with different soundtrack that didn't flow to the video footage at all.
oh okay
Actually there is a motorock vol 2 it's motocross based though
Blood, Sweat & Gears would be considered pt 2 of this as they were released a few months apart in 1986.
Greta Thunberg would have a heart attack watching this!!! 🤣🤣🤣
At 22:40, what was the name of the track vehicle?
19:58 king kong
Who signs Slipin and slidin on here? Thank you
np83rc c Willie and The Poor Boys are the one's who sang Slipin and slidin on here. Intresting fact, Paul Rodgers from Bad Company sang this version.
Hey, thank you for responding. Best version of song I think
np83rc c Anytime! And yes I agree, this is my favorite version of it.
+Nathan McDonald that's actually awesome
