Synopsis: Because her younger brother, Du Jiahao (played by Han Dong), was brutally killed by water monkeys in Shangshui town, Du Qingling (played by Wang Zhen'er), a female medical examiner of the Republic of China, went to Shangshui Town alone to find out the truth. In the remote and secluded village, the "curses" of water monkeys taking revenge have come true one after another. Du Qingling is brave and resolute. She picked up a gun and bravely rushed into the forbidden area of the water monster, Dark Forest. It seemed that all the causes and results have been predestined.

Wow really good movie. Scary, atmospheric and sadly tragic all at the same time. Acting was fab and the lead actress played her role very well. Thank you Youku, I love these Chinese movies :)
Thankyou from my heart for this beautiful movie. Everything from the lead actress, the boy actor and the actor who played " water monkey" was incredibly brilliant delivered. I have never heard of this movie and I am glad I stumbled by chance to watch it. She loved her brother so much and for her to ask his forgiveness and found peace within herself and him was truly an ending that I learned of forgiveness of oneself and ask for forgiveness to those who I may have unintentionally cause pain and hurt from my past. Not every beautiful person is good but every good person is beautiful. In my mind, he is a beautiful person. And thankyou again for the English subtitles, it really does help to understand and enjoyed more. 😘🤗❤

I couldn’t hold my tears.... I didn’t expect this kind of tragic ending.. It broke my heart thinking about that boy’s life whom they treated as a monster. It would be great if he was still alive & his sis would take him to the city & treat him as well ....

The movie has a good plot and excellent twist ! I almost cried at the ending.. it was super sad to know that this monster is Dc.Du little brother got abused by the gangster and turns out like bad to others eyes. Overall the story is touching.
