Maybe cultural as many Asian women have been trained to be silent or soft spoken and to not voice strong opinions. Playing in a band is a very different situation & she can let loose more.
OK, where have I seen this woman before? Oh, right, with the Shake 'em Up Jazz Band, here on RUclips. An Asian woman with an obviously Japanese name and accent playing trombone in New Orleans? And, at 7:41 she's flashing us a Hawaiian shaka sign? My head is about to explode. So many questions, but answers aren't really needed. Jazz has spread from New Orleans to the world and back again. Ms. Kikuchi has apparently come to N.O. to be part of the jazz community there and I hope she has been heartily welcomed. She certainly deserves to be.
beautiful blues Haruka
It takes a lot to keep up with this lady, and these three can!!!!!!!
Wondeful music, wonderful played! I am still a fan of New Orleans music.
Nice! Lovely guitar!
Quite a drummer, too!
Terrific musicians!
she is good, and a very wonderful human being. guitar guy pretty good too.
Nice soloes, well done, Love this group. Video shows everyone nicely.
Haruka, MARAVILHOSA!
I am surprised how fragile her voice is : she can blow the trombone like a compressor ...
