I don’t mean to bother you but I’m Just a young mexican that smokes weed on my RUclips channel, tryna make it out the hood. I also ate McDonalds inside Walmart
This is such a cool concept, really shows how fashion can be used on a personal level to express yourself. The collaboration on pieces feels like a conversation between two people without words being spoken.
I love how Thebe actively participates on the actual making of the garment, he sews, cuts the fabric, creates the crown. This is magic and fashion happening together.
I love how Piccioli added a pink touch to the ensemble, in the same colour as his original gown, to represent the collaboration and union of the two creative minds.
I really hope Vogue continues doing this series. I absolutely love this idea of intercultural dialogue through the clothing and deconstruction and up cycling clothes. Some suggestions for the future: First Nations and other Indigenous designers, India, South America, Arab swapping with European and Western designers
I love that the pieces look like a pair of friends going out for dinner. One more classic and structured and the other more forward-thinking and full of drama, they pair and reflect but are each their own statement.
Thebe’s piece took my breath away when they revealed it. Wow. Also - I’m not sure why Vogue didn’t show the artists’ reactions, I would have loved to see PPP’s response.
What Thebe Magugu is doing for African luxury is not spoken about enough! What an incredible concept. Bringing two worlds together. Both looks were absolutely incredible. Designers are truly the magicians of our time because how??? 🤯🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Yes just like Thebe said, upcycling is totally the future especially considering fabric waste contamination. A lot of small business owners like myself are doing just this, so its great that also big brands and designers are giving it a try.
I love Thebe's thoughts and statements regarding the upcycling and reworking of garments, and Pierpaolo's statements regarding culture, and how the culture of two designers can meet and merge due to this project. Super cool video, would love to see more.
Yes, I agree. Not sure that fast fashion will be impacted by this practice. The fast fashion consumer does not purchase garments fashioned by haute couture designers. Maybe I am missing something. Open to other perspectives.
When Thebes said he was going to reconstruct the dress, I almost cried. Like how could you do that to a Valentino dress. When I saw the final product, again I almost cried. It was sooooo beautiful 🥹🥹🥹. To be fair though, Pierpaolo also did an amazing job. That cape was stunning!! Such creative minds. I can never
Two gorgeous looks! I love seeing smaller designers collaborate with huge houses. I’d love to see a whole collection some day!!! I hope these looks make it to the red carpet
This is getting me so emotional...such a great idea ...how they all give each other space and respect...and it is also testament to the fact that talent is universal ..opportunity and resources Are not ...we know pierpaolo and his talent is familiar and worth every bit of respect ...and comes with its own challenges...but Thebe you held your own... you presented a look worthy of admiration and consideration in any environment. Bravo Vogue!
Icredible how they matched the fuschia pink to the one of the dresses' and I love how they meshed their logos. Also, the fact that the models are African and Italian is amazing.
this series is absolutely amazing. i love the conversation that is created with the two new pieces. at the end of the day, it is the human connection that really sparks inspiration and creativity between the two creative forces at play. more of this please!
There's something magical when two designers reinterpret connect and try to understand the other pov and bright that into his own. Both creations are gorgeous 💕
Thebe knocked this out of the park! I thought the trench would be my fav piece but really those pants come in so close at 2nd. this is genius. and I loved what he said about the nuance of African fashion. here for this.
Of the content that I come across online, this has to be among the best. It’s rare to see something so intriguing and compelling that really adds to a cultural conversation in a productive way. Congrats Vogue on making this happen!
I love this series. It perfectly embraces the concept of sustainability in fashion and shows how a garment can be reutilised and reinterpreted by two different people. I agree with others, the reveal to each designer should be shown 😊
Please a lot more of this. I think Vogue is in the right direction of keeping the collaboration between the opposing classical couture and modern contemporary designers. Im hoping next we get more avant garde designer like Iris Van Herpen and Glen Martens, or the de la Renta duo and Jeremy Scott for contemporary or Schiaparelli’s Daniel Roseberry for couture to name a few.
This is.. incredible. This highlights the language of fashion. The incredible talent and vision of both. It is funny how Thebe said they would do the opposite when it seems PP made RTW and Thebe brought his own look into couture.
GAGGING. I had goosebumps. They're so beautiful! I can't lie, though. As much as I liked the cape the suit was HOT. That color, the fabric, the print. All perfection. I feel like they both had elements of Roman catholicism which was cool. Great collaboration! More episodes of these please, Vogue! I've been wondering if this was a one-time deal.
I want more of this! the works they created are both so stunning and so much love must go into constructing a personal design that you know will get torn apart and reconstructed on the other end.
If you love this series, you would definitely love the RUclips series about several producers flipping the same sample. It has the same kind of creative and inspiring energy!
Wow, what Valentino did was amazing. Definitely took that piece to another dimension yet stayed true to the cultural roots of the designer. Absolutely spectacular 👏
Thebe.. l NEED to see more of your creations!! The House of Valentino did a beautiful remix, but my heart SANK a little, knowing that EXQUISITE Green Suit was going to be taken apart.. even if l knew the assignment. LOVED the Cape, too.
What a Beautiful expression of creativity and respect. The larger message of both designers being pure to their universe while connecting to each others interpretation is what made it more magical. Beyond 💓!
But then also...I'm not the only one who wanted to see the outfits arrive at the original designers ,to see their reaction, and hear their opinion on what the other designer did.......they both did a wonderful job
I wish I saw the reaction of each designer after the reveal
me too!
I was waiting for that!
I don’t mean to bother you but I’m Just a young mexican that smokes weed on my RUclips channel, tryna make it out the hood. I also ate McDonalds inside Walmart
i don’t think we speak enough about how talented Thebe Magugu is. this was insane.
the Dye Mater nailing the exact shade of pink was incredible, plus the African model confidence and smile while wearing the new outfit
i agree. really loved his reworked version
YOU JUST WOKE AND SAYING IT COS SHE BLACK
Agree
This is such a cool concept, really shows how fashion can be used on a personal level to express yourself. The collaboration on pieces feels like a conversation between two people without words being spoken.
So beautifully articulated!
Exactly 💯
I love how Thebe actively participates on the actual making of the garment, he sews, cuts the fabric, creates the crown. This is magic and fashion happening together.
the comment i was looking for, the difference of craftmanshift
I was looking for this as well
😑👀😑👀.. here ⚘.
I love how Pierpaolo puts the garment on a model first. He really wants to see how it sits and moves.
This is great but oh boy did Vogue miss a trick not showing the reveal of each look to the other designer!
right????
I was waiting for that moment
I thought the same and then I thought perhaps there reactions weren't exactly complimentary, not sure
Yes, absolutely
Totally agree. I think that would’ve been the best part!
YEEEEESSS i was waiting on this
I love that the pieces look like a pair of friends going out for dinner.
They never do .I don't know why?
I love Thebe Magugu and as a South African I’m super proud and love the recognition.
Well, Europe is running out of ideas so... they lean on Africa once again.
Amen, it's a brilliant way to begin cancelling fast fashion.
Though I agree, the idea of "upcycling" a Valentino couture gown is kinda funny.
I love Thebe's thoughts and statements regarding the upcycling and reworking of garments, and Pierpaolo's statements regarding culture, and how the culture of two designers can meet and merge due to this project. Super cool video, would love to see more.
Thebe is a visionary! Hands down perfection, always in awe of his craft. Pairing him with PP was a wholesome moment 🤍
I think designers redesigning each other's previous designs, is a great idea, and a fantastic way to help reduce fast fashion.
Yes, I agree. Not sure that fast fashion will be impacted by this practice. The fast fashion consumer does not purchase garments fashioned by haute couture designers. Maybe I am missing something. Open to other perspectives.
He really turned that Valentino pink gown into something fresh and uniquely Thebe!
Yes he did!! I had to take a double look. 😂
The results were gorgeous and it was great to watch the process on both ends.
I wish it showed the reaction of each designer seeing their reworked piece! I think that would have been the cherry on top of a really cool concept!
I’m so proud of Thebe and how far he’s come. He truly is one of South Africa’s shining stars.
I love this series so much! One small request: I think it would be amazing to have a side-by-side of the pieces before and after the transformation.
I can never
I love the cape and the original fuchsia gown. The pleating around the bodice was gorgeous.
The concept of these pieces are just amazing and an honourable mention to the combination of their logos!!
Boy both these pieces started stunning and the transcended to something equally as beautiful. What a lovely concept.
Halala!! South Africa's very own🇿🇦
So proud to see Thebe shine on the global stage.
Yes!!!
Two gorgeous looks! I love seeing smaller designers collaborate with huge houses. I’d love to see a whole collection some day!!! I hope these looks make it to the red carpet

The way he works the way he talks the way he designs is him being him self❤️
this is hands down my fave vogue series plssssss more more more
This has potential to be a great series. I really hope they do more of these.
But the designers should reveal the looks to each other in the future
Mom!!!! We (SA) made it to Vogue!!!
So proud of Thebe. His design gave me goosebumps.
this series is absolutely amazing. i love the conversation that is created with the two new pieces. at the end of the day, it is the human connection that really sparks inspiration and creativity between the two creative forces at play. more of this please!
Immensely proud of Thebe!
Thank you for being so inspiring and for representing South Africa
We need people to FEEL!
This is an incredible idea. Please do a million more of these.
the both designs turned out so so good with their own touch to it!
nobody is going to talk about the difference of the amount of people working on each piece, and this was supposed to be upcycle
🎯🎯🎯
There's something magical when two designers reinterpret connect and try to understand the other pov and bright that into his own. Both creations are gorgeous 💕
Thebe Magugu knocked the ball out of the park his redesign was beyond amazing!
Pierpaolo is without a doubt one of the most remarkable artistic directors of this generation
Thebe knocked this out of the park! I thought the trench would be my fav piece but really those pants come in so close at 2nd. this is genius. and I loved what he said about the nuance of African fashion.
here for this.
only one thing is missing, original designers react to the transformed worked, but overall this is really cool !!
I agree with others, the reveal to each designer should be shown 😊
omg thebe's look absolutely HIT
by far the best of these collaborations I've seen so far
Loved everything Thebe and his team were wearing in intro. Final results of both were lovely. Great project.
So happy to see Thebe Magugu here 😍🤩🔥
Love the series! Thebe killed it, beautiful full look and tailoring ❤️
Valentino's final look is superb.
Two brilliant minds in fashion , this is very beautiful , another series please
This is.. incredible. This highlights the language of fashion. The incredible talent and vision of both. It is funny how Thebe said they would do the opposite when it seems PP made RTW and Thebe brought his own look into couture.
The fascia dress was fabulous, but I loved, loved, loved Thebe's original pants suit outfit🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 Both finished pieces were to die for!!
I want this two obra maestra be worn in the next met gala!!!
BOTH RECREATIONS ARE AMAZING!
*I would love to see the reaction of each designer to the other piece!*
I love this. It should be made into a series.
I want more of this! the works they created are both so stunning and so much love must go into constructing a personal design that you know will get torn apart and reconstructed on the other end.
More of theese PLEASE!!! This is incredible!!!
Stunning! The fashion speaks for itself by the individuality and creativity.
My gosh--both pieces are incredible. That pink though....LOVE!!
If you love this series, you would definitely love the RUclips series about several producers flipping the same sample. It has the same kind of creative and inspiring energy!
These designer swap videos give ME LIFEEEEE more please!!!!
I would love a full collaborative collection between the two. The mash up logo Thebe designed for the hat is perfect
This is my introduction to Thebe Magugu. Thank you so much, Vogue.
Wow! when I saw the transformed designs I just burst with awe and tears. Magnificent!
a pairing made in fashion's heaven
Wow, what Valentino did was amazing. Definitely took that piece to another dimension yet stayed true to the cultural roots of the designer. Absolutely spectacular 👏
I would have loved to see the designer react to the new creations in person. Really enjoy this concept, love seeing the transformation.
Why am I only 1:58 in and weeping at the level of respect shown for another person’s piece of art.
Thebe representing South Africa!!! SO proud of you!!! ❤️🇿🇦🇿🇦
Both are so elegant😍😍
So amazing!!! Loved seeing each person's interpretation and upcycling. Gorgeous!!! In love with Thebe Magugu. What an awesome collaboration.
Thebe.. l NEED to see more of your creations!!
The House of Valentino did a beautiful remix, but my heart SANK a little, knowing that EXQUISITE Green Suit was going to be taken apart.. even if l knew the assignment.
LOVED the Cape, too.
This is the content that we want Vogue, thank you !
What a Beautiful expression of creativity and respect. The larger message of both designers being pure to their universe while connecting to each others interpretation is what made it more magical. Beyond 💓!
Please keep doing this series!!!
this is great concept. more of this please.
Thebe killed it, it was very passionate for the lack of better term.
The dress was the most amazing cloth in the that color I have seen in my life.
Simply brilliant idea to let two designers collaborate ❤️ bravo Vogue 👍
Two powerful in creativity designers, it's an explosion of creativity! Beautiful and exciting result!
All 4 were stunning, starting garments and the end results
But then also...I'm not the only one who wanted to see the outfits arrive at the original designers ,to see their reaction, and hear their opinion on what the other designer did.......they both did a wonderful job
This was sublime to watch! What an awesome idea. Love love love. Just magical for me.
So beautiful, one of my favourites in this series. So emotional.
These were such beautiful pieces to begin with and the transformations were equally beautiful. Loved it 💗
I am so proud to have taught you and you have always had talent and a heart of beauty that shows in all your designs
I was stunned when I saw the two pieces all done. Bravo!
I LOVE THIS SERIES!
And both creations turn out to be magnifique!
BRAVO!
I loved everything! The before styles are beautiful already but the redo was more fantastic! They are both brilliant!
Both designers created amazing looks! ❤️
11:38 this model is working it out
Wooow!!! Both designers elevated each look.
Collaboration is so underrated. Brilliant ❤
This series is some of the best content Vogue has ever created! Please keep it up.
This series is so awesome. I love the diversity
