      Mm hm! I love my lil' Frosty baby so much. She is basically free roaming, I have opened up the gate door so she can come out whenever she likes as long as I am in the same room so I can keep an eye on her. She no longer really likes going out to the living room area and prefers to just stay in my room so kinda free roaming but kinda not? HAHA I don't even know

    I remember the first week I got my bunny I was so stressed. He was only 2 months old and would escape his xpen and poop and pee everywhere. Within 2 weeks he was littered trained and free roamed. I was also becoming accustomed to having a bunny and feeling less stressed. Now, he’s my bff❤ he loves to lick and receive head rubs. Couldn’t have asked for a better bun🐰

    Awe that is one cute bunny! I was dying when you said a night in the cage or bucket 😂. If I can suggest something. Give her way more hay from the feeder which she can eat while only in her litter box, this will make litter training so much easier too. For our free roam bunny We use the tidy cat breeze litter box (without any litter) and bunny pees right through the grates onto the pads beneath (we have some of the pine pellets from small pet select in the draw with the pee pad to soak up any smell). And only the bunny 💩 remains in the box portion and we scoop that a couple times a day and wipe it down with half vinegar half water mixture each day also. We hung a diy hay bag so she's eating the hay while in the box and only in the box. We made it out of a canvas bag and hung it on the wall next to our bunny's litter box. The way your bunny has to be in the hay feeder to eat her hay but is not in the box will end up with her probably doing her business in her hay feeder box since she's so small and can't reach the hay from her litter box. We found the hay bag works well to keep our bunny from being able to get in the hay to do any business.
    Also we started with our bunny in a puppy pen that we had for our dog. Once she got the litter box down in that space, which was about a day or so, then we let her free roam.
    And Lennon the bunny is where we learned how to set up things before we brought our bunny home from the shelter. So definitely recommend her channel to get tips and tricks.
    Your family looks so happy about the bunny! So awesome. Good luck!

    • @SydneyliangYT
      @SydneyliangYT  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! HAHA I didn't know what to do...if my friend hadn't let me borrow the cage, she probably would've really ended up in a bucket😅 Yes she gets unlimited hay that I place in her littler box. I have this box that she seems to be most comfortable with (I've tried a lot and she seems to like this one the most?) and I put the bedding on one half while the hay on the other half. I tried hanging hay holder, different styled hay feeders (cause as you said, she always ends up in the hole in her previous feeder thing and she relieves herself in there so I took it away) but she doesn't seem to understand how to use hay feeders whether they're on the ground or hanging...she shoves her entire face into it trying to choose certain pieces of hay and I'm afraid the other pieces would poke her eyeballs! Do u think that's alright if I just keep it in the litter box itself? That's so amazing that your bunny got litter training down so quick! My Frosty baby free roams around my room (since she is no longer as comfortable venturing out past my room) and doesn't use the restroom but once she's back into her cage her poops just go everywhere (which many people have said gets fixed when she's old enough to be spayed!) Thank you so much for all your help and if you have any more suggestions feel free to let me know, I appreciate it!💖

    • @melissab7777
      @melissab7777 2 года назад

      @@SydneyliangYT oh yes many folks just pile the hay in the litter box on one side and bunny will relieve themselves in the other side. Lennon the bunny shows her litter set up and she does that with the hay actually in the litter box. So if that works for your bun then sounds good! 👌🏼
      Maybe add another litter box or 2 while she is learning the ropes also. Though it may not fully click until she’s spayed but ya never know. She may be a quick study! Haha
      Enjoy your bun! Merry Christmas 🎄

      @@SydneyliangYT hi yes! its normal at first but one of the reasons could be is that she is hungry, bored or frustrated. Make sure she has hay 24/7 since bunnies tend to eat all time with no specific times. Make sure she eats her pellets and veggies as well :) it is totally normal at first since I have experienced this with my bunnies the first time i got them but they eventually stopped! also, another solution is you can order from amazon and buy a rabbit bitter spray. You can spray the specific spots she tends to chew on and that will work as well :)

      @@SydneyliangYT hi , some people get cameras so that they can watch their bunnies when they are out. So long as she’s not being too destructive, then she will probably happily sleep and eat if left for 8 to 12 hours. Playtime is usually for a few hours at dawn and dusk. Bored, lonely bunnies are extremely destructive and so just check her behaviour and give her plenty of toys and hide her food so she can forage like it’s a game 🌸💕🥬🤩😊

    Hello! you're asking for tips and I always have a lot of tips because I love talking about rabbits. Also I'm not sure how much of this you still have since this was like 4 weeks ago but if you're still looking for tips here you go!!
    I would recommend taking the blue plastic off of the pee pads if she chews it she can't digest plastic. I also saw some yarn she could get to, I would put it high up if she decided to get into it one day it could end badly. Even if she never shows interest, its always best to be safe!
    I just read that she is under 6 months, so make sure that you are feeding her alfalfa hay instead of any other kind, babies under 6 months need a lot of calcium which they can only get from alfalfa! Once she's 6 months you can give her timothy or another safe hay
    I also looked at some of your comments on here and I saw you asking if your carpet would get crusty with sprays, I'm not too sure about that but I would just recommend putting it somewhere she can't get to it. The sprays that are at the pet stores usually aren't safe, you can mix apple cider vinegar and water together in a spray bottle and that can work as a safe spray!
    Once rabbits hits about 6+ months of age it is 100% necessary to get them spayed/neutered, this can help with a lot of things including health, female rabbits have a 75% chance of getting uterine cancer by the age of 5 if they don't get spayed. It can help all rabbits from getting other health issues in later life. If you plan to get another bunny in the future, make sure they are both spayed/neutered (and completely healed from it) before trying to bond them! even if the other rabbit you get is also a female, its way safer to have them both fixed when living together
    You also asked someone if carboard is safe for them to eat and yes! cardboard is 100% safe for rabbits to chew on and digest. I saw some loofa at 10:06 (the green toy) and I would avoid those as much as possible! loofa expands when its wet, so its not very safe for them to digest
    Oh yes and try to not have anything scented around her such as candles, incense, perfumes ect. because rabbits have sensitive respiratory systems
    Last thing I will put here is to look up "RHDV2 rabbits" its a very contagious rabbit virus that has been going around recently, humans can't contract it and there is a vaccine that you might want to think about getting for her if its in your area!
    I think in a comment you said you checked out lennon the bunny already, I got most of my information from her and 101Rabbits! I would just suggest a lot of research and be as safe as possible, there is a lot of unsafe items out there and I like to be the safest and I can be!. I will stop this here because this comment is getting a bit long I'm sorry I tried to shorten it as much as I could 😭 I hope this helped a little! If you have any other questions I would be happy to answer them though :)

    • @SydneyliangYT
      @SydneyliangYT  2 года назад

      Aw! First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to help me out I really appreciate it! Yes I got a giant bag of alfalfa hay for her before I even got her😂 but I am a bit confused on how much pellets I should give her. She has access to unlimited hay everyday but when I ask around/google it, people give me different ratios for her pellets. And yes I will definitely move the yarn so she can't even get the chance to eat it, thank you for pointing that out!
      A lot of people have told me to get her spayed, is there anything more that I need to know about the process?
      I will take out all the loofa things! I had no idea they did that. They had come in a set of bunny toys I had bought for her so I assumed it was safe😅 Mm hm! I heard about the virus, can they still get it if she doesn't leave my house?
      Thank you so much for the suggestions and tips! Yes Lennon the Bunny has come up so many times😂 No worries at all, I appreciate everything you have shared with me and for taking the time to look into other comments/be so observant with things!💖

      @@SydneyliangYT So for the babies diets are different from adult rabbits, they need more pellets so about 1/4 cups of alfalfa pellets every 3 pounds of body weight abouts 2 times a day, and a little bit of veggies. Once she hits about 6 months of age, you can switch over to regular pellets if you still decide to feed pellets, I give my adult rabbit 1/4 cups of pellets just once a day, but if you see her gaining any weight you can cut down on them a bit if needed!
      Yes there is a little bit more to know about spaying. Lennon the bunny has a video on almost everything you want to know, she has two videos on spaying one is called "How to Care for your Bunny after Spay/Neuter Surgery!" and the other is called "EVERYTHING ABOUT SPAYING & NEUTERING YOUR RABBIT" I would recommend watching those because it has so much information about pretty much everything you need to know!
      Yes unfortunately the virus is very contagious, even though humans don't get the virus, we can still carry the germs on our clothes and spread it and give it to our rabbits, so rabbits can still get the virus even if they don't directly go into contact with another rabbit that has it. It might be hard to find a vet that has the vaccine I'm still looking for a vet around me that has one
      Yes ofc! I didn't wanna write things you already knew about since that probably wouldn't be any help. But if you search up "Lennon the bunny" and then your questions there is almost always a video for it! Some other youtubers that have a few rabbit videos are also 'AlyssaNPets' and 'Victoria Raechel' they have helped me a lot with rabbit care! :) I hope this helped! 💗

    I'm just afraid she will get stuck in her hay box.... I put the hay inside my girl's litter box and it works perfectly. She eats and poop while at it lmao. And no, she won't eat soiled hay so no need to worry... Your litter box is big enough to have bedding on one side and hay on the other .... And careful with the blue part of the pad my bunny likes to eat it so I usually cut it off or fold it in so she can't get to it . Congratulations and good luck 😍

    I think you should take some help to understand how to take care of a bunny, please don’t let her be in pain, I hope you will take good care of her.
    Also feed her coriander, parsley, green lettuce, dill leaves.
    Don’t keep her in a box and shut it.
    Also keep her away from wires because bunnies tend to chew wires.
    Also remember, you should give her unlimited hay, preferably Timothy hay

    • @SydneyliangYT
      @SydneyliangYT  2 года назад

      Yes I've done my research! She gets some parsley and other leaves every few days and the box was just a temporary solution so she wasn't locked up in the cage for her first night. She has her x-pen thing now and has been having a great time! And of course I give her unlimited hay but she's still eating Alfalfa hay since she's still a lil' baby. Thank you so much! Anything else you know feel free to let me know :)

    That is definitely too small of an enclosure. She will be better potty trained when she is spayed. For now, use large reusable pee pads to cover the bottom of the enclosure. She will also need a friend. Look into local rescues for that. You’re going to pay at least a couple hundreds dollars to get her spayed, but rescues already have all of that done and their adoption fees are usually around $100. Your bunny’s life span could double if you get her spayed. Females commonly die of cancer when they’re not spayed.

    • @SydneyliangYT
      @SydneyliangYT  2 года назад

      Oh really? Her enclosure is going to be bigger when she learns how to use her litter box better. The person I had gotten her from told me to start with a smaller enclosure so she could learn to use the litter box! And I do plan on looking into getting her spayed in the future! She just turned 2 month6s old today and when I googled it earlier, they said to wait until at least 4 months! Is four months too late? And thank you for all of the advice!!

    • @alyssadehart1692
      @alyssadehart1692 2 года назад +1

      @@SydneyliangYT They should be 6 months old to be spayed. Her litter box skills likely won’t be perfect until she’s spayed, so I can’t imagine her living in a tiny enclosure for 4 more months. You also probably want to find the vet soon, so you can make sure you have an appointment schedule and the funds ready. Sometimes they’re booked up for a few months.

      Ok that's good to know! Don't worry her cage is now bigger and she's only in there when I'm not home or I'm going to bed, other than that she's free roaming!
