Team 1 here - we had a lovely leisurely day, no running at all, reasonable connections (as the central line shat itself behind us) - a very enjoyable day out!
Show offs haha
A video from nick Badley brightens my dark days. Thank you.
10:35: from this list we can deduce that team 13 caught 12 and 11, all arriving 1 train after 8. Before 8 by 11 trains was 9, and on the preceding train 7, who had the most prisoners, having taken all of teams 6-3. 2 arrived 2 trains before them, and 1 did spectacularly well to arrive 11 trains earlier.
Close. The start times were as close to every 10 minutes as we could get, but the Piccadilly Line had a few delays at the start, and the actual start time was what counted. So teams 8, 11, 12 and 13 all finished on the same train; teams 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 all finished on the same train (as you can see in the video - Nick and Omari were team 6); team 2 were indeed not far in front of them (not sure how many trains but it was about 8 minutes), and team 1 were much earlier after having an excellent run.
(The graph is mine btw. You do not want to know how long it took me to sit with the spreadsheet and work it all out after the fact 😂)
@@bigdmcc1 : Hammersmith branch runs every 5 minutes.
Team 4 here - it was great to be a part of this and meet Nick (and many others)! There was lots of running involved but it was a great day out!
5:29 surprised you didn't have to run at Ealing Common, that change used to be on my commute and you either saw a train as you came south through the junction or had to run over the bridge to avoid a 10 minute wait.
I've just subscribed. This video and challenge has been really fun to watch! Thanks for putting this together, I really enjoyed it!!
Well done, I'm exhausted watching this!
It was definitely exhausting that's for sure 😅
Incredibly cool challenge! This surely needs to replace the tube challenge in most cases!!
The effort you must have put into editing what must have been 00's of clips to make these 2 videos must have been epic...but you pulled it off! Very well presented. And yeah...today's yeah count... 16 ! Yeah! xxx
Nowhere near as enjoyable as the "Pointless Journeys" series.
It just reminded me of the stress of a Multiple Change Commute, within a given time frame.
Great video, and good job on the editing too. Interesting challenge, not sure if I could do that in one go.
Well done all on the challenge, more of the same please soon Nick and Omari, this ws great to watch
Brilliant video Nick, you've certainly done lots of running in this challenge. I'll admit getting 7th place in this is not a bad result at all, your team did pretty well until it went wrong lol.
Great part 2 of the challenge Nick
Great Video Nick, like how you tried to trick them even know they didn't fall for it. It a great fun challenge but will admit not a fan of the running.
It was definitely very tiring!
Nice to see you teaming up with TechandTrains101. Shame that Geoff Marshall couldn’t come because he was doing other things. But what a great challenge to do. Keep up the good work as always Nick. 😊
considering the delays at Holborn and West Ham (particularly West Ham) your efforts were fairly competitive with teams further up the leaderboard... I see it as quite possible that if the delay at West Ham hadn't happened you might have made it past the central line section before the events that suspended service on that part of the route
Love these series.
Seemed like such fun. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. You dealt with some real adversities with the H&C and Central lines pulling a part suspended on you
This tube challenge must be exhausting as hell! But glad you delivered this challenge just for fun. Earned a sub!
So, at Kings Cross/St Pancras you can choose to go via Euston or direct? @3:09 map.
No, you had to go via Euston, but you could use the Victoria Line from Kings Cross to Warren Street instead of changing at Euston. (The rules specified the stations and the order, not the lines you have to use.)
def a brilliant challange but i couldnt do all that running tho brilliant video
6:30 This is the spot where my own Tube Challenge unravelled a little. Well a lot actually and I had barely started.
When I arrived at Rayners Lane after a walk/jog from North Harrow there was a Met line train waiting for me. However instead of rejigging the plan, I chose to panic and go back to Rayners Lane for a Piccadilly. Only to get off the Piccadilly line train!
I then discovered there wasn't anymore so I did what I should have done and got a Metropolitan train. I then made my situation worse by not getting a c2c at Upminster, meaning that I had bled too much time in the morning.
The result being when I finally arrived at Cockfosters it was 10:20pm so I decided to call it there. It was a brilliant day though
Well done on completing at least
stuck underground, lovely
Great video Nick!
This is freaking crazyyyy
How does one participate in a snake challenge. Potentially this or next year?
I love this your so funny on these challenges it’d be great if you did more lmao
Well done Nick
This isn't on subject with the video but has anyone else noticed that the DLR has been alot more bumpy recently?
Yes and very wobly from side to side, it's very annoying
@itvnews-daytimeonDanTV I thought I noticed it was wobbling more thanks for the confirmation
This looks so fun
I've never heard of this particular challenge before. Do you all get together to agree a route or what? Is it always the same route?
Also I'm guessing you had to exit stations two or three times to avoid maximum fares due to the maximum allowed journey time. Completing the whole thing in 6 to 7 hours, I'm guessing you could do it as three, possibly four "journeys". It would be cool to work out the cheapest way to do it. For sure you would not hit the daily cap if you planned your exit/entry strategy well.
The Jubilee line engine sounds like an F1 train (Class 465)
Mornington Crescent!
Did you let TfL know you were doing this challenge with the running around could it cause a security concern?
Try doing 20 hours on the tube… 7 hours won’t see too bad anymore
This should be an Olympic sport
great video what type of camera do u use for filming
Sony ZV-1 :)
You will not be able to do this challenge if Sadiq Khan gets rid of the travelcard.
You can, but you would have to do it using the contactless daily cap instead.
Indeed, it was our main incentive to do the challenge!
@@RJSRdg : But then you would have to keep going up to the surface to touch out then back in again to avoid the fine for spending too long in the system.
@@ccityplanner1217 well there were several times (like the 23 minute wsiting time st west ham) where that could be done
Badger badger badger badger.......
Looks like great fun. With the withdrawal of the all zone day railcard, will this challenge be possible without incurring a penalty charge by being 'inside' the system for so many hours without tapping out?
What's the difference between the snake challenge and tube challenge
The Tube Challenge is all 272 stations in the quickest time possible via any route you want. The Snake Challenge is a pre set route over any given distance covering the required stations within, in the quickest time, and whilst trying to catch the teams in front but not be caught by the teams behind.
@@LynxEE20 thank you
Good video nick
What happened to the DNF team
I'm sure this is all jolly good fun, but spare a thought for other users of the network maybe.
"Thank you to my supporters on Patreon and my subscribers. I was going to say something after that but I forgot."
How about - "You are the rattle to my snake"?
Yes!!
This is probably the nerdiest video ive seen in a while.
What happened to team 10?
Yeah, I was wondering that as well!
They weren't feeling very well, so they retired :(
So… what happened with team 10?
They started feeling unwell, so decided to retire
More snaking
Kinda spoiled it when nearly all the teams caught up with each other.
Next time, it could be made more interesting by having it timed, and half the teams doing the challenge in the opposite direction.
There were 2 factors to going in the same direction
1) Starting at Heathrow T5 gave teams a consistent 10 minute gap to start
2) Getting caught/catching teams is fun :)
What happened to team 10?
idk
more snaking
So, yeah…. Yeah …… yeah , so …….so…… So ummm…… so, yeah. Thankyou! Goodbye 🫡
