I am old school that way. Never used any password manager whatsoever. I have a pdf with all the passwords written in different sequences and zipped with an relatable password. This is how I manage since 2012
Can you explain the process in detail i want to give it a try. Currently I'm using a mixing method for password which is easy to remember but doesn't work on all sites because many have limits for password length.
I think this is the best way to protect yourself, because if your phone gets stolen it can't be broken because usually the attempt to change your password will be the move
It always helps to have a small notebook and physically write down your important passwords, such as the master password to any password managers. For more security, use grid pages so you can write each individual character in it's own box and develop a simple formula that you then memorize in order to scramble the characters and unscramble them accordingly.
That's good actually!! It's very important that you store your passwords somewhere safe or at least remember those. I, everyday encounter such people who say I don't remember my google account's password!
@@dhairyavyas3217It’s because the user is often prompted to make or set some kind of long form code that they don't remember because of forgetting to store it somewhere ie, notes app or notebook and then guessing what it is until they reach the max amount of attemps to be lockedout until technical support gets involved.
Oh come on, there should be prior intimation while setting up Samsung pass that its gonna ask previous phones password. Would you remember a password set a year ago? And the you format your phone and try to get into pass and it asked a year old password? Since now you know this you will try to remember the previous phones password. It should have something to recover. Obviously this is a master password, you are supposed to remember at least 1. But they should have some recovery way or finger print etc.
This is similar to Google emails when u reset the phone. It asks to send you verification if it's really you even if you aren't signed in into any phone. But it gives an option of a cell number after some time of trying...
What does the little white arrow on the far right of the "Galaxy s24 Ultra" section? Almost looks like it's a drop down menu to select a different phone... Hopefully

Fortunately, I decided to uninstall Samsung Wallet and then clear data for Samsung pass. I setup Samsung pass and all the credentials was back. Setup Samsung Wallet, got everything back.
my mom is having a problem like this except her problem is more involved. I bought her a new Samsung phone and I transferred all of her data over using Smart Switch but on her old phone she wasn't actually even using Samsung Pass so I wanted to enable it on the new phone. The problem is she doesn't remember the password for her Samsung account and her recovery email was hacked a while back so she doesn't have access to that email anymore. My mom is 70yrs old and has a real problem remembering all the passwords for her struff, that is the reason why i wanted to enable Samsung Pass but we have no idea how to do it now.
This info here should be expected because of the "encryption turn on." With that said, concerning Samsung pass: if at any time you change your Samsung account ID email to a new one, You’ll lose all save information in Samsung pass without any warning.
Forgetting your password for something and not being able to get into that something later seems like a personal problem and not a Samsung galaxy phone problem lol.
He didn't forget his password... it asks him to enter his previous password. Who even saves old passwords once you create a new one? The company should notify the user when they click "change my password," for example, with a pop-up notification: "Please save your old password, as in some cases, you will need to enter your old password to verify that it is really you." Back or Change my password I'm on many, many websites, and I haven't seen this method of security anywhere! Once you change your password and create a new password, you will never use your previous password again. This is why people don't save previous passwords once they create a new one.
it is asking for the previous device pin, password, etc. those still are required to be input every reboot. maybe you haven't used this phone for months?
why not on your S23U transfer all of your passwords to Google's password manager then reset Samsung Pass on your S24U and then just transfer the saved passwords from Google Password manager to Samsung Pass? When i switch to the S25U in two weeks from my Pixel 8 Pro i'm going to keep my passwords on both Google and Samsung Pass.
I have exactly the same problem yesterday. when asked for my previous Phone Pattern I used the same pattern but the Samsung Pass return wrong pattern. i lost all my passkeys stored in the Samsung pass that I have been using in the past 5 years.
This problem seems only from ui 7 since it has knox matrix. I have never had this problem on ui 6. Now you can manually send all samsung pass data from s23 ultra to s24. Go to samsung pass settings and export the data. And restore them to the new phone.
I did face this issue last month when I did a reset after One UI 7 Beta. I formatted the handset once again, and it worked perfectly. Let me know if it worked for you.
That is actually secure way. That's the reason our phones asks for unlock password when left idle for more days or when phone is restarted. That way password is recalled multiple times. No?
This is not a problem, it's the intended design. Let me clarify. If you lose your phone, you wouldn't want a thief to easily access your saved passwords, would you? 😅 That's why it's essential to remember your phone's password or the password for your password manager app, which securely stores your saved passwords.
The application works great...this is the reason that is made. Security. If you setup a device , you must setup with consecration for accounts and passwords. If type different random passwords with no sense to you, the result is to forgets the passwords. Or write down all the passwords to another password app or in secure place. 😉
Do one thing, there is an export option in samsung pass, export all your data in samsung pass in 23U which will create a file in the internal storage, then click on can't remember option in your s24U which will delete all the data as you said. Then transfer that exported backup file from your 23U to your 24U then import it using your Samsung pass in the 24U
Man, the purpose of password manager is exactly this: you cannot unlock it then your password data is gone for good. It would be unsecure otherwise. What Samsung did here is the only correct way.
I have never used Samsung pass, i have all my important information for the apps and passwords for my email accounts in a Samsung note and locked that with a password word ill never forget, not saying that could case a issue but i update when I need to edit the note and it gets replaced on my many Samsung devices. As I wont forget the password is think it is my version of safe because this could be printed very quickly to have a physical note that could be placed in my safe with main note password, if they were to get in my safe i would probably be more concerned about staying alive.
