If you’re going to do darker anywhere in that room the floor is where you should do it! It’ll still feel bright if the only dark thing is on the floor.

Thanks for explaining the financials of running your business. Always good and practical information to know. You have great lighting in your office, so maybe some plants, pictures on the wall, draperies on the windows, a neutral color rug to go with the desk you have, if that is the desk you will be using. I like to keep my spaces simple, easy to navigate. Don't overthink, just go with your gut instinct. The office in your former house was nice, neutral color and it worked well in my opinion. Get it working for you now, and you can always change it later on. And you have a basement full of furniture possibilities. Maybe repurpose a piece that you have. Just my thoughts.

What about facing the window and having the accent wall/book shelves opposite the window. That way you’ll be able to have curtains and get natural light for filming

Maybe you're having challenges designing your office because it may be the wrong room for it. Suggestion: sit in other rooms in your house and see if any of them speak to you. Good luck!

I was soooo afraid to trust someone with my finances and even now I still very much so have my hands in things. but finding my CPA was the best thing I did! she really breaks it all down for me and helps me to understand what's going on, why I have to pay certain taxes, etc. soooo helpful!

For your office instead of shiplap do a strong wallpaper pick one color from it for the walls and a different color for the curtains. Desk in the middle and maybe a cozy chair with a c-table in the corner between the doors.

I like the floating desk in front of the accent wall, i know it does not feel like it makes sense but with a rug and decor it'll look really nice.

Look at Pottery Barn modular office cabinets! That how I think I am going to do my office. Also consider putting the desk againt the wall and use a butcher block as a top! I can do a quick hand drawing for you if you'd like!

Maybe I would wait with the office rug until you get the built-in. This will also slightly change the dimensions and feel of the room.
And maybe you will decide to „extend“ the build in book case by an L shaped desk that’s like coming „out of“ the book case, going along the wall and turning around at the kitchen door to face the other door, kind of framing the window area. Then you would have to rethink the rug situation completely.

Oh my gosh! I hope your enjoy stomp!! I saw it years ago and loved it!!! Also, thank you for the money talk, I love learning about it. It would be so cool if you could retire in 5 years and then do whatever you want and it will all be extra (though I will be sad to see you leave whenever you do retire from RUclips).

Walking the dogs together simulates their pack behavior and helps them bond. You can also see who runs the show because that individual walks in front...hopefully that's you 🤣😉
It doesn’t really matter if you walk in front of the dogs or not as long as they are responsive to commands and not pulling. Walking dogs is meant to be for their enrichment, not a test of who’s boss. In a pack, the one with the most endurance would naturally lead, and when they tire they would fall back and another would take over. It’s a bit more complicated than “I’m boss so I walk in front”
Office design: spin the desk so that the bookshelf is behind you, and then you can put a small couch or loveseat facing the dining room against the desk. That way, the dogs (or your future kids!) can hang while you work on stuff, and you have several different layers of backdrop to film from which are all naturally going to stay mostly in order (for when you have those future kids). Plus, cord management? Don't know her.
sadly there isn't that much room for the couch!! it's farrrrr smaller than my last bedroom but that's kinda what I'm thinking with the desk/bookcase as well!
The house is coming along beautifully. Sounds like fancy has a sand thorn in her paw. You can’t see them. I can only see them in my dog’s paw when I pore peroxide on it and it bubbles up. Hope she is better now.

Pick a color scheme first, that will set the mood in your office space. Plan a to do list for just that area. I hope Fancy is okay. Please update us. Love you, this video is just chill though feeling the stress of not accomplishing much is too real. I hope you get better and cross off all the things on your list.

I could even see like a floral accent wall with the floating book shelves and maybe a cream carpet or sage coloured carpet? it would tie into the earthy tones of the wood stain and your beautiful trees out the window.
If your office is hot maybe a ceiling fan would help?
My dog has random limping moments too and he's 10. I've been giving him some arthritis type chewables for pups and it helps for sure, but I think age is age, sadly. I'm feeling it too lol
