The aim of my channel is to share my favorite video game music as creatively as possible.
In order to do this, I record the soundtrack during my gameplay while using various tools such as mods or plugins to remove or lower the voices or ambient noises. Then I enhance the quality using Adobe Audition. Once this is done, I work on a background picture using assets that I edit myself from the same game in order to create a unique visual to accompany the video, and I also add some effects with Vegas Pro. Those videos have educational and entertainment value because it helps people to find the names of music in video games, which are not mentioned in the games. It also gathers the community and allows the fandom to have a place to talk about my videos, the music and characters in the comment section, especially when the Zelda universe is full of theories.

Her theme is like the inverse of Urbosa's. Urbosa's begins strong, but then mellows out to show that she has a sympathetic side, meanwhile Riju's begins kind of meek, but then reveals itself to be totally badass

One detail I love about Riju is that the stance she takes when you charge her lightning attack is the classic fighting stance of the Gerudo thieves you fight in Ocarina of Time. Such a great callback.

Total badass, my favorite champion decendent from botw and now shes just epic. With a theme that feels powerful and regal, it feels like she rules these dunes and its perfect.

The middle-eastern/persian touch is waaay better than the spanish shenanigans of Ocarina of Time, I know the gerudo music is pretty cool in Ocarina, but as a huge Prince of Persia fan, I prefer this one
erm akshually ☝️🤓 the reason they went with a spanish theme in ocarina is dude to deep cultural ties from the umayyad caliphate when they had ceased the iberian peninsula. after the reconquista of the peninsula from the muslims (and several antisemitic killings) many arabic words and middle eastern cultural traditions still remained and had their own sprawling communities within there

@@kito5606 I am portuguese, so I am aware. Still, as you said, the muslim influences are not significant in Iberia, not even us and the spaniards associates their culture (of course, prejudice plays a factor, especially among the spaniards). From the "outside", other western european countries, the americas, etc.. they don't associate hispanic culture with middle-eastern culture, it's like a niche of a niche so to speak. Now when you mix up the "arabian nights", which is basically a junction of iranian culture, indian, arabic, etc.. that is literally the Prince of Persia flavor (or to be even more mainstream, that's how Disney adapted Aladdin), this is way more recognizable for westerners

I went to a Zelda live orchestra yesterday, Riju’s theme was the only one they played of all the champions and sages.
That little piano motif of Urbosa’s theme at the end…❤ Urbosa would be so proud.
To see Riju all grown up and become the leader her people expect and need her to be made her my favorite Chanpion/Sage. I actually said out loud, "I'm so proud of you."

While her accent did surprise me, as I was somewhat hoping they kept some of her accent from AoC, I adore Riju so much, our girl has become a proper chief

I Like how Riju uses the same fighting style as the Gerudos from OOT

In botw, she was the only town leader to go and physically help you fight the divine beasts
Not to be annoying, but is kinda untrue.
Sidon carries you on his back and you must protect him from the ice attacks.
While Teba doesn't carry you, he is the obly one who is injured during the attacks on the beasts.
And Yunobo was the only thing that could held back Vah Rudania.
@@franciscoleolopez6050 Riju is the chief of her town and people. She is the leader. SIdon isn't king of the Zora(yet), Teba isn' the village elder, and Yubono isn't the boss(yet). That's what I meant by leaders.

Her theme sounds like it came straight from the mummy in the best way!!!! All throughout i felt like i was walking through the city of hamunaptra in the lightning temple complete with gibdos! I got so much chills
Riju is easily the coolest sage
How is possible to already feel nostalgic. Damn it. This was the first sage I went to. I felt most familiar with her and most bonded. By far the best, most developed sage. Best temple. Best music. Best side quests.
My god that's a whole Egyptian move trailer there, where it's more peaceful and about beauty than just adventure and discovery

By far the best theme in the game, although all the music in this game I enjoyed! The Lightning temple was definitely my favourite in terms of puzzle solving and the music was just awesome. Felt a bit like being in arbiter's grounds in twilight princess, in terms of temple scale. The Fire temple was quite fun as well and a close second for favourites temples in this game! The Water and Wind Temples however, were a bit disappointing in my opinion. But overall they have definitely improved things from BOTW!
I do miss following a linear storytelling plot though. I know you get an awesome story from what you collect with the tears/memories, but its not quite the same. I do prefer a good qualilty story to follow and sink some hrs into rather than quantity in terms of there being just far too much to explore in these sandbox style games!
This is tied with Tulin for me as my favorite

Nintendo, you’re making it really hard for me to view the Gerudo from the ‘Amazonian’ angle, you’re pushing it more toward Middle Eastern, but more specifically, Egyptian.
I always thought the Gerudo being desert people always meant they were inspired by the Middle East and Egypt. Especially with Urbosa’s theme in the previous game and the stone ruins present everywhere in the desert.
They were always meant to be middle eastern love.
As I said in another comment thread:
The Gerudo seem to be moreso based on just "desert" cultures as a whole with an Amazonian twist rather than any one specific irl culture. I've noticed Persian, Egyptian, Arabic, Mongol and even Sub-Saharan African references built into them over the years.
@@tcg2717I think they’re supposed to be a mixture between various cultures between both middle eastern and sub-Saharan African kid. They aren’t just one culture since they’re fictional. Similar to how the Zonai are mostly based on various Mesoamerican cultures like Aztecs and Mayans as well as ancient Chinese culture. The symbols in graved on the walls in the opening of the game look like ancient Chinese characters

This pretty much says Urbosa can’t be her mother, since her mother was alive after the calamity.
Nope, she is NOT Urbosas daughter…! Biggest evidence is that it’s stated in the book „Create a champion“, wich also happens to be cannon, that Riju is 12 years old in Breath of the Wild. And since the calamity is 100 years ago, it’s simply impossible that she’s her daughter.
Furthermore Riju always speaks of her mother and Urbosa as separate individuals.
And last but not least thanks to Tears of the Kingdom we now know, that Gerudos age normally, because there are a lot of new Gerudo children and the „former“ children are now taller and seem to be preteens.

Question. I know that Age of Calamity is kind of in a grey zone, regarding the canon. But the Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, Teba and Tulin all did show up to help AOC-Hyrule.
Does that mean that the Sages in TOTK all have the experiences of their time in AOC?
Probably not since AoC canonically had a bad end (so Breath of the Wild can happen in the first place). Maybe in an au.
@@sodapop2581 ? But Age of Calamity didn't have a bad ending. Yes, the Calamity still happened, but it was put down before any of the Champions or the King could be killed. Even the Yiga got rehabilitated and went over to the side of Hyrule. And then at the end, Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, Teba and Tulin all get sent back to their own time.
Well, maybe, nothing in TotK denies that the sages were once sent back in the past to help the Champions. (In fact, perhaps Sidon's insecurity could've been trigged because, while he technically saved Mipha in another timeline, the Mipha he knew is still dead.

How on Earth are they gonna be in shape 100 years later to fight him, especially Link 💀
And let’s not forget the Master Sword will break once he resurrects. So, if Zelda is alive 100 years after AoC she might be able to go back in time and stuff, to regenerate it. But if she’s not, bye bye to the Master Sword and they’re one weapon able to stop Ganondorf.
So, in my point of view, the AoC timeline is doomed…

Hey isnt it wierd how in the english dub, Riju has a british voice, when the Gerudo are technically supposed to be middle eastern?
Not even ganondorf has a middle eastern accent so it doesnt throw me off too much
The Gerudo are based off Egyptians (at least, they resemble ancient Egyptians more than any middle eastern country to me), so I’d assume she should have their accent (whatever that sounds like).
@@Hewasnumber1 the gerudo pull from many cultures and religions not just one much like there's both Japanese and medieval architecture in Hyrule. Gerudo originally had the crescent moon and star a symbol of Islam, but the ost to gerudo valley boasted a Spanish guitar something presumably not found in Egypt or the middle east. I feel like Aonuma combined different elements from different cultures.

@@ghost19101 According to BotW's art book, Gerudo kids grow faster (which is why Riju is designed to look a bit older than 12 in BotW). Bolson's daughter doesn't have a confirmed age, but considering that, she's likely a few years younger than she physically looks.
