I need to revisit this problem on my 595. With the brush off, I try to turn the spindle and it seems like it should work. Then install an the brush starts to turn but soon stops. The replacement brush seems much bigger than the original so I'm thinking of trimming it.
Thank you - I came looking because mine is doing the same - it's so frustrating until it falls out again I put some hot glue in it and screwed it back in - I only burnt my finger twice haha

Is this what causes the really loud noise?
I'm not sure the noise you're talking about. The larger hole causes the corner brush to rotate and fall off.
