Ordered one but why make the spod reel with 330yd 0.35 spool capacity? Everyone is using braids for spoding these days.

I have the older one. Only bought it last year. I just ordered a second before they disappear. I don't spod much but plan to use them for deadbaiting for pike. Which is a messy business. And casting big deadbaits plus the lead puts a lot of strain on a reel.
They might be old tech but they are built like a tank! New isn't always best. I bought some hi-tech Diawa Cast-izm 25 QDA's. Lovely reels but the old agricultural Emblem Spods will outlast them without a doubt.
