They’re way more famous in Mexico than in their own country...
This album was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. It didn't win that, but it did win for best Alternative album. So I'd say they get a lot of respect, but I agree they should be more popular. I'd say their first 2 albums were quite popular, but their 3rd was a little more esoteric and then they took a long break before their 4th album so a lot of casual fans forgot about them.
