When I run the ssh key gen in the root, it says too many arguments. The P was caps but I was using small letters. That's why it was giving error.

(too many arguments) it's probably because you must have typed the command wrongly by using a lower case letter where its an uppercase or you added an extra space while typing the commands. carefully look at the command, and you should see the mistake, its's ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -P betty -f ~/.ssh/school

im having a problem when loggin into my server it says bad passphrase even when i typed in betty in small letters as the password

a lot could possibly be wrong
but it looks like you might have added a few extra white spaces or characters in the process of copying (transfering) the SSH KEY.
Carefully copy the SSH KEY again, this should fix it
If the error persists after trying the above, please send me a mail let's debug it together

Sorry to hear you're facing SSH access issues! The video link I shared above should guide you through the steps to resolve the 'SSH Permission Denied (Public Key)' problem. If you've already generated and added your SSH keys but are still getting access denied, it might be worth double-checking the following:
1. Ensure that you've CORRECTLY added and saved your public key to your intranet's Profile under the Technical information section.
2. Make sure your private key is stored in the correct location on your local machine.
3. Confirm that your new servers are showing "Running" and not "Pending" when connecting to the servers.
If you've CAREFULLY checked all these and are still having issues, please let me know the specific error message you're receiving, and I'll do my best to assist you further.

how do you specify the number of bytes as task 1 requires that the Number of bits in the created key to be created 4096 , when i tried to enter "ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -p betty -f ~/.ssh/school" it said too many arguments, i just have to enter it one by one and there was no option to specify the size.. so my checks weren't checking

I understand that you are trying to specify the number of bytes for Task 1, where the created key requires 4096 bits.
but it seems like you might have accidentally included a lower case "-p" argument, which resulted in the "too many arguments" error.
To specify the key size while generating the RSA key pair, you can use the following command:
ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -P betty -f ~/.ssh/school
Then use the command below as the content of your Task 1:
ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -P betty -f school
