Fantastic! Some awesome hints that other videos did not have, such as putting the solder below the project. Thanks!
Some really awesome tips in this video. I'm fairly comfortable with soldering already but I've definitely learnt some things to make my life easier. Thank you Kim!
Glad you found it useful Laura :)
Yup
Super descriptive & informative video. Thank you. 🥰
Nice job keep it up
Such great videos, thank you. I'm having big issues with getting a tight join, not sure why, but there's a very slight gap, then I file it, but the gap just moves. Would you e able to show how to get airtight joints. I can't find anything about this online. Thank you 😊
Hi Ange, yes when I get a little time I will be adding more tutorial videos here instagram.com/makeitwithkim/
Thank you, very helpful. Should there be bicarb of soda in the quenching water?
It's not standard practice over here in the UK but I do use a bicarb mix when making hollow forms where there is a greater chance of pickle getting trapped inside. Otherwise, just water.
@@kimthomson400 perfect, thank you 😊
Thank you so much for this video! Does this method also work for soldering paste?
Yes however solder paste has flux incorporated in it, so you can leave out that step!
@@kernowcraft thank you very much for your response, I'm having a lot of trouble with getting my solder paste to flow from the top, so I will definitely do the method you have recommended from the bottom. Thank you again!
May be a silly question but is that the same mineral as the borax laundry powder? Curious
I would like to solder copper washers and need a good torch. I've looked at the gosystem nozle that your company sells. But not sure which gas bottle from the gosystem would be compatible with the nozle. can it be butan propane mix 2350? Is that the gas you are using? Thank you for your hard work and sharing your expiriance and knowledge with us newbies 🤗🙂
Yes that is the one! There is more information within our product description: www.kernowcraft.com/products/metal-clay/item/go-gas-multi-torch-c113
Where did you get the strainer? im looking everywhere i cant find anything like it
ive only seen stainless steel ones
can i use gold solder to solder between my silver ring gap thingy
Hi thank you for your tutorial. Really detailed thank you. Could you do a short one re the pickle as I see your using a baby bottle warmer. Which I think is genius, especially for small work benches. As I’m trying to set mine up. Many thanks 🤗🥒🥒🥒
Hi I've had a few people ask me to do a studio tour showing my set up which will include my high tec pickle warmer 😂 I'll try and get it done soon.
Hey thanks for helping now I’d like to know which canister is comparable to the Go System MT2055H ( fine flame blow lamp head?). If I can’t find an compatible it would stop me from purchasing the head! In the USA I’ve found ( disposable gas canisters6”l
Ultra gas sievert. 2202-83)
Need to know if the head connections are compatible?
Thnx again
Michele Rannells
Can I purchase from you from the USA?
Mr
