Sounds very interesting. I think I'll get the four against darkness game, and if I enjoy it I'll pick this up as well. The Hireling system seems good.

It vaguely reminds me of how they handled hirelings in might and magic X, wherein it's kind of more an 'add on' than an entirely new character.

I own 7 of the books and play regularly
It's really a fun game when you have some time to kill
The "expansions" some are actual modules, very well done.
      Favorite open and paper game

It would be nice to have a wilderness/overworld adventure rules too. I really like the system, but too much dungeon delving can get boring.

Yeah. I totally dig that. There are a few variant adventures for this system that supposedly have a sort of wilderness thing, but I haven't checked them out enough to really see whether that's the case. What I'd love is a system with like, a procedurally generated dungeon, procedurally generated wilderness, and maybe procedurally generated town or stronghold stuff. I've seen a few that do that but they're usually super abstract and limited

@@rpgcrawler Hmmmm, sound like a job for the system I've been working. 😊

Curious if you know, can you use 3 clues to make a XP roll in 4AB like you can in 4AD?
4AB obviously has some additional leveling mechanics such as training and spells as a substitute and the additional secretes included in 4AB now cost 4 clues.
But can you use still use clues for an XP roll?
    Thanks

I'm not the authority on this, but from my reading, everything in 4AD still applies, so it seems that the use of clues still holds, unless they've changed something in a later update. At least that's the way I'd been playing it.
