- Hey guys! Today I'm here to share the story of why I decided to go to dental school AFTER going to pharmacy school - my official origins story. I wanted to share my story incase some of you guys are out there feeling stuck or confused in your career direction and wanted help finding more clarity. In addition I answer my FAQs of why I didn't do medical school instead, why I finished pharmacy school first, how I could afford going to dental school after pharmacy school, and more!

Thank you for this insightful video, I'm a pharmacist at cross roads of what to do now I've graduated pharmacy school, i feel like i could do more and like you pointed out, i love being a creative and working with my hands while problem solving.... Hopefully, i make a good decision that impacts my life and not just settling for what i have...

I'm glad that I saw your video. I actually wanted to study pharmacy but I got accepted into dental medicine and I was down in the dumps honestly. I was glad that I was even accepted because the exams I took to enter the university were difficult as fuck. I was thinking about switching from dental medicine to pharmacy but I might reconsider it

@@justaquickpinch I get stressed for the smallest things and that's what worried me more about dentistry. Because I'll be responsible of other people. But I like the profession because of my own dentist. I had switched a few until finally finding the right one. I know that a lot of people are afraid of dentists and if I become one I want to show them that there's nothing to be afraid of. And about pharmacy, I think I preferred it to dentistry because the work in a pharmacy won't be as stressful from what I've been told by acquaintances. Thanks for replying!
It was interesting hearing your story. I am also going to pharmacy school this year, but I am also thinking about changing to dental school. I just got some question. Has pharmacy school made it easier for you in dental school and also does your degree make it easier to find a job? Is it worth it to take both degrees, I think both are quite interesting however I would go with dental if I had to choose. Sorry for the long comment, I am just out of high school and wanted to reflect a bit on my future.

Great video, so positive!! How was/were the dental school interviews ? Did they ask about pharmacy school and reasoning for the switch?
Interviews were so much fun, probably the best part of the whole process! It's all just about being yourself and seeing if you're a good fit for the school - i actually met so many of my current classmates at Tufts at my interview/interviews at other schools too! They asked and most places were pretty supportive and encouraging, though one place GRILLED me about it - though in hindsight i think the interviewer was just trying to see how I handled criticism under pressure haha

I was got the same issue like u and I’m senior year and I have to make a decision for me and I’m very confused between pharmacy and dental and I don’t know which one is good for me please can you tell me which major is good for me

Wow, what I’ve noticed, too, is that most of the clinical teaching staff use their egos to fuel their desire to continue their profession. I don’t think any of those people are truly passionate about being a human computer about those reactions and details of drugs. It’s a title driven concentration in my opinion, and I’m intrigued at where it will go.
I have Org Chem 2 & MicroBio left (pharmacy pre-reqs), do you know how many more classes Dental school would require me to do? Just late night thinking..
Hahah oh I totally feel you on that late night thinking 😂 so for me at least pharmacy prereqs covered all the ones I needed for dental school except physics I and II so I had to take those over the summer. It also depends on the specific dental school you apply to so check their website first!
Go to medical school after dental school!
