I would erase the very first definition of case study, "a case study is like an in-depth and extended example used to illustrate a particular argument". What is true about doing case study research is that, yes, it is an in-depth method when studying a particular object within a greater subject, but it is not, in my opinion, supposed to be used to illustrate an argument. If you study something in-depth to (verify or) illustrate an argument, then your whole research project is not at all scientific and objective driven. Objectivity, although nearly impossible, should always be set in the mind of the researcher to make sure that your research isn't illegitimate or biased research.
So they should just analyse the sources they got and after them get the conclusions... there shouldn't be demonstrating any arguments like which are made previously
