This video Explained. Fire is seen as a cleansing in many cultures hence me setting myself on fire in the video, I was cleansing myself of trying so hard to change my life. The mask was me casting off youtubes bitterness, my fight and struggle to keep going my affronted positive attitude on my videos when deep inside I was torn with frustration, anger and loss at my failure. In the video when I cast off the mask and was cleansed, I climbed up a steep mountain representing my struggles, the water on the head represented a baptism, another cleansing, or fire, water and wind. When I leaped from the rocks this was my way of suicide or ending my struggles, it also represented my father who took his life by jumping into the sea, the lyrics talk about father and son. The music from radio head "it's going to be a glorious death' represented my hope to be free from the constant shackles or feeling my life so far has been a waste. To be honest I will be lost without RUclips, it has take up nearly all my free time, weekends and pushed me to go places just to film, so the boots really are off the ground. I feel better but do feel a sense of emptiness. If you have a youtube channel, I hope and wish you all the success in the world, it's not easy, I know first hand. I simply don't have the talent, the looks or personality to make it to 10k subs or even get more than 500 views a video, for a channel with 6.5k subs... and paying for youtube ads, its clear.. epic failure. But on a brighter note thankyou all for the kind and supportive comments, it really has made my day and I have come back a few times to read them, puts a smile on my face. Thanks again Andy.

Many followed you from the start including me for emtb for beginners, you showed me where to ride, how to ride and more. I owe so much to your channel and so do many others. I found a video of yours ages ago and saved it then subscribed. It had a nice feel and it appealed to me. I didn’t realise it then it was video game one, but your editing, motion and graphic design skills are very, very advanced.

Ah thanks Tori, the term flogging a dead horse comes to mind. 6.5k subs but average views are 500 and view times of less than 2 mins. I just dont have the personality, looks, or ability to create good content people will watch. I am heartbroken, I gave it my all. I see you channel has exploded and 1000's of views you get must make you proud.. keep going. you have the magic sauce x I will be lost without youtube it took over my life somewhat.

I just found your channel so came late to the party! YT is tough place to crack and this is a niche audience. As a product person, all I can say is build something good and people will eventually come. But you won’t necessarily make the money you want/ need for a while, if ever at all.

Well I can't say I didn't try or give it my all but unfortunately the content I produce just doesn't resonate with my audience I've tried everything to increase the quality. I just don't have the personality or the ability to be able to create videos that have high enough quality for people to find them interesting. Heart breaking for me, but at the end of the day you have to realize when you're flogging a dead horse Iv put so much effort in it almost takes over your life for the will to succeed. RUclips won't give me a chance most if my videos are not found or listed or notified. I enjoy free speech that has alot to do with it. Best produced mtb I think I’ve ever seen tbh….I don’t follow many mtb channels but I’m one of the few who does appreciate a solid production and see effort. I’ll be blunt, nobody knows the secret sauce to being a successful youtuber…speaking as someone who used to hire RUclipsrs and pay them 5 figures monthly I can say that it makes no sense, the ones who produced the better material would at times get beat off ones without anything…..sometimes a bedroom wall beat a studio and the dryest personality outdid the ones with loads!! I’ve also seen channels go for years suddenly just click for no reason….its very bizarre So don’t take it personally, or I’m not x,y,z it’s nonsense on a positive! Because no-one knows and you just can’t guarantee it, and given your a media professional (hazard a guess) who knows seo and still can’t churn the numbers then there you go… And mtb is very niche….I don’t see many producers and I bet the ones to try only 5% earn anything decent to sustain things
I make £16 on average from youtube. And it costs me software, music, time and travel. Not sustainable and with youtube not caring when i spoke to them the end was never far away. Thanks Carl. I will probably sell all my camera kit and try recoop some money.
Enjoyed a lot of your videos over the past few years from the MTB to what it is now. Unfortunately this is reality, being able to support yourself or earn big money through RUclips or any other platform is a luxury only some hardworking(also a bit of luck) are afforded.
Thanks Kaz, not so much about money more about support and views, even my last video.. 1.2k views for a 6.7k channel is pathetic. Only 20% ish of my subs watch my videos. Hence waste of time.
Enjoyed all your content mate, keep us all posted if you decide to go again with it, even the big channels don't have your skills with the edits. Burn out happens to us all, im going through it with work atm. In the mean time have some adventures and enjoy the fuck out of them 😊
Maybe focus less of the financial side of YT and treat it as a hobby. People DO enjoy your content. - not every channel HAS to make £££££ to be successful. - displaying your obvious editing skills is a success off the blocks!

I see so many RUclipsrs clearly suffering with their mental health, counting their likes, their views, subscriptions etc. it kinda puts you off wanting to make videos. You do a great job editing your videos. Now comes the constructive criticism.. I started watching your videos, as I'm sure many did, because I'm interested in mountain biking. You went off the beaten track and started to sup board and hike. I do sup boarding but I'm not interested in watching videos on it. I don't like hiking as I seek an adrenaline rush which I get from mountain biking. I think you would have been better maybe having 3 separate channels. MTB, sup, and hiking. Then you could see what is doing well and what isn't. Unfortunately you can't expect people to be interested in everything you do. That's probably why some videos don't get the hits. I do think your editing skills are good enough for TV but I think you just need to stick to the things you enjoy most and don't try to people please. Just for reference I enjoy videos on off piste trails like the golfie in Scotland, Wrekin, Mallards pike etc... Good luck anyway.. hope you see the light..👊

(small violin time) i got tired of the hate and flack constantly from 2 or 3 mtb channels, constantly spreading s* about me, accusing me of stealing GPX files (off a public kommot site.. yeah work that out) making a video on me, slagging me and my riding off, even making a video on me, wanting to get my patreon sticker and do a video burning it. Being told they were glad i broke ribs and hoped i would get cancer (no joke). Much of it was because i dared to criticised Rob Rides review of my bike, as I stated you cannot review a bike if you have only ridden it for half hour and got paid. There was too much toxicity and people believed the sh* said about me. The hiking and van life gave me a freedom away from stress, and i enjoyed the freedom to be creative again. I also didn't get anything other that friendly support and encouragement from those communities. I appreciate you comments, and thank you for support. I wont be back on YT for a long time.

You are clearly talented at producing and editing videos. There's always a better and faster mountain biker out there so I wouldn't worry about that. I did my first race this year at Ard Rock, I'm not competitive at all. Wasn't out to win just hoped I wouldn't come last in the grand Vet intro category , which I didn't ( result!).. just have fun and don't worry about what others think. Not saying this camping/hiking/est isn't good but I'd have 2 chanels one as bogt (find it ride it) and second channel as this. Paul messner just done it on his channels. As for you just enjoy what your doing pal and film it, not every1 gona like it but over 6k people do.

Iv tried so hard to make it, I just can't the quality needed for youtube, having to do everything yourself is exhausting, and it costs me money. I only make around £16 a month now on youtube, so after costs of editing suite, music licenses, and time and effort it just can't go on, it was making me bitter as to why other channels get 10k 20k views but I cannot get 500. And mtb is very niche….I don’t see many producers and I bet the ones to try only 5% earn anything decent to sustain things
I make £16 on average from youtube. And it costs me software, music, time and travel. Not sustainable and with youtube not caring when i spoke to them the end was never far away. Thanks Carl. I will probably sell all my camera kit and try recoop some money.
Enjoyed a lot of your videos over the past few years from the MTB to what it is now.
Unfortunately this is reality, being able to support yourself or earn big money through RUclips or any other platform is a luxury only some hardworking(also a bit of luck) are afforded.
Thanks Kaz, not so much about money more about support and views, even my last video.. 1.2k views for a 6.7k channel is pathetic. Only 20% ish of my subs watch my videos. Hence waste of time.
Enjoyed all your content mate, keep us all posted if you decide to go again with it, even the big channels don't have your skills with the edits.
Burn out happens to us all, im going through it with work atm.

Maybe focus less of the financial side of YT and treat it as a hobby. People DO enjoy your content. - not every channel HAS to make £££££ to be successful. - displaying your obvious editing skills is a success off the blocks!
Thanks Adam, I am so unhappy with my life, job, single, no kids, no wife or gf, I put 101% into trying to change my life through RUclips as so many others have and will do. I just don't have the talent or ability to make engaging content, it's no fault of anyone, I just don't have what it takes. Thank for you support over the years mate.
Why not go back to the thing that gave you the most success?
The mtb community was very toxic, how dare i speak out about Rob Rides and my bike....and other channels constantly giving me s* for everything i did killed the pleasure. Trail finder, Hall Marc trails and Stopadoodledoo can now pop the champagne. Thanks Gaz.

I see so many RUclipsrs clearly suffering with their mental health, counting their likes, their views, subscriptions etc. it kinda puts you off wanting to make videos. You do a great job editing your videos. Now comes the constructive criticism.. I started watching your videos, as I'm sure many did, because I'm interested in mountain biking. You went off the beaten track and started to sup board and hike. I do sup boarding but I'm not interested in watching videos on it. I don't like hiking as I seek an adrenaline rush which I get from mountain biking. I think you would have been better maybe having 3 separate channels. MTB, sup, and hiking. Then you could see what is doing well and what isn't. Unfortunately you can't expect people to be interested in everything you do. That's probably why some videos don't get the hits. I do think your editing skills are good enough for TV but I think you just need to stick to the things you enjoy most and don't try to people please. Just for reference I enjoy videos on off piste trails like the golfie in Scotland, Wrekin, Mallards pike etc... Good luck anyway.. hope you see the light..👊

(small violin time) i got tired of the hate and flack constantly from 2 or 3 mtb channels, constantly spreading s* about me, accusing me of stealing GPX files (off a public kommot site.. yeah work that out) making a video on me, slagging me and my riding off, even making a video on me, wanting to get my patreon sticker and do a video burning it. Being told they were glad i broke ribs and hoped i would get cancer (no joke). Much of it was because i dared to criticised Rob Rides review of my bike, as I stated you cannot review a bike if you have only ridden it for half hour and got paid. There was too much toxicity and people believed the sh* said about me.
The hiking and van life gave me a freedom away from stress, and i enjoyed the freedom to be creative again. I also didn't get anything other that friendly support and encouragement from those communities. I appreciate you comments, and thank you for support. I wont be back on YT for a long time.
@@BOTG_Adventures wow I didn't realise you were getting extreme hate. These people are toxic and should be ignored (easier said than done). Jealousy usually fuels it. You are clearly talented at producing and editing videos. There's always a better and faster mountain biker out there so I wouldn't worry about that. I did my first race this year at Ard Rock, I'm not competitive at all. Wasn't out to win just hoped I wouldn't come last in the grand Vet intro category , which I didn't ( result!).. just have fun and don't worry about what others think. Maybe a break from YT is what you need . Come back stronger 💪. If you fancy a ride sometime let me know.

So realy dose it not shows that you would have been better keeping this as a mtb channel...? Not saying this camping/hiking/est isn't good but I'd have 2 chanels one as bogt (find it ride it) and second channel as this. Paul messner just done it on his channels. As for you just enjoy what your doing pal and film it, not every1 gona like it but over 6k people do.

Thanks Bren. Yes I know it failed epically. 6.5k subs but average of 500 views and less than 2 mins of watch time. I simply couldn't keep giving it my all in the hope.. and youtube just wouldn't help me, they were not interested when i spoke to them, my videos were not getting listed, of found, and many don't even appear in searches but small channels with 50 subs do..
Nooooo Andy/Boots/Demon/Para! I think you've come a long way with all you've learnt with editing! The world still needs you and your videos! Me and the wife like to lay in bed and watch your videos (not in that sense! Although that one video, when you...nah!). We enjoyed your journies on this channel and I've been a fan of your other channels too. I know how passionate and involved you get when creating these masterpieces, it's just a damn shame it's a numbers game. Anyway, I hope can come back and show the world once again your skills and talents.

haha I glad i inspired you in bed ha ha made me laugh. A nice comment thank you. Iv tried so hard to make it, I just can't the quality needed for youtube, having to do everything yourself is exhausting, and it costs me money. I only make around £16 a month now on youtube, so after costs of editing suite, music licenses, and time and effort it just can't go on, it was making me bitter as to why other channels get 10k 20k views but I cannot get 500.
