I am from Paris so I found people in Seoul super normal/ friendly 😂 I guess most anglo countries are friendlier so there is more of a shock. We don’t compliment or talk to people on street either. Everybody poker face in the subway and you’ll always find someone staring 😂. I even found that costumer service in Korea was much more polite. We are quite stressed in huge cities where we take the subway a lot so we just keep to ourselves and try to be as fast as possible so that tends to make people more stern I guess. I don’t think it’s something against foreigners
It's actually nice to be in a place where I can't understand what people are saying because in places where I can understand, they're extraneous comments like "she's walking and eating at the same time" from strangers who want to start drama from social norms but not the law 😅 I say jokingly, cuz I was eating a skewer at the time, here's a skewer, poke your eyes out if you're unhappy with it but in reality it was a universal her man checking me out for too long and she said something passive aggressive thing 😂 I haven't developed a resting botox face because I'm numb to it all now, especially when I realized natives and others face the same pettiness...they stared a lot in Japan because they think I'm Korean because an English teacher told me there was a hate crime a week before I arrived because a Japanese kicked a Korean with a stroller on the shin 😢 what is wrong with people and government brainwashing 😅
