Quite an honor to be remembered in 3 different places. Robert Johnson was quite the legend. Thanks Jordan for being so caring and thorough in your research. ❤️🙏🏻
Found Robert Johnson through an acoustic blues guitar class in college. An excellent mixture of man, myth and music. Thanks for sharing the stories and journey.
Another fantastic episode Jordan. You are such a gifted storyteller & artist. We all admire & appreciate your work! Safe travels to you & Jah. Love from Houston Texas.
Very interesting video. When I lived in Cleveland, Ohio I used to go out to hear a man named Robert Lockwood Jr. He'd play in some of the blues clubs. Lockwood Jr is the only person to have learned from Robert Johnson and was considered a step son of his, of sorts. I've spoken with him many times, a very nice & talented musician. Died in 2006 at 91. He's another blues legend.
"Crossroads" is one of my favorite movies. Robert left us with 29 songs, ain't no more. You have to add no 30 yourself. Great vlog and the Delta is on my bucket list.
Amazing blog Jordan. Thanks for sharing . I think we should call you the "Journey Man for the Every Man". You bring so much to all of us who don't get to explore the corners and crevices of America. You rock!
I'm so glad your telling his real life story the way Robert Johnson should be remembered . 3 locations of his graves wow!😯 the people love him in that town. The tree location was gorgeous and his epitaph just loved it. Thanks Jordan look forward to more of his fascinating story.
This was a really great tribute to an artist whose story is shrouded in myths and legends. The fact you filmed it on the anniversary of his birth created quite a special atmosphere. Many thanks Jordan.
I loved this vlog. I'm a life long lover of the 'Delta Blues' sound and still love RJ's music & talents. Check out Cedric Burnside sometime. He's another authentic Delta Blues musician keeping that sound and music alive for us to witness first hand. Got to enjoy these blessings while they are still with us. Thank you, Jordan! (and as always, Mwah, Jah!) 🎶🎶🎶
Roberts life was definitely the stuff of legends, thanks for the tour and background story, well done. Looking forward to the follow up. Blessings to you and Jah 🌞💕🐶
Hi Jordan, well, there really was mystery here with three graves, the amount of photos and what he died of. Robert certainly did a lot with the few years he was here. Great vlog Jordan.
I always enjoy stories of the old acoustic blues guys! There is so much myth and legend about Robert! I really enjoy Peter Guralnick's little book about Robert. Such a strange life, with so much tragedy!
Very interesting video. Thanks for telling his story. I look forward to you covering more on him in the future. Sorry about you not getting to see Willie. He's great to see live. You and Jah travel safe and take care.
Jordan, thanx once again, for taking me to the places I probably won't ever visit, but the next best thing is right here at my fingertips. I won't even try to understand 3 graves. the one w/ his very own handwriting is the most touching. Jah was on screen for a half second, and he nearly stole the show. that guy is too cool for school(and too cute to boot).anyway, this winter I got my old YAMAHA re-strung finally, and started teaching myself slide in open E. I sound better than I expected to, while even having the balls to recently try it on my Strat. and RJ has always been an idol of mine. THE ROLLING STONES' 'Love in Vain' cover w/ Mick Taylor is a true testament to this man's brilliance. and 'Terraplane blues' is my personal favorite of his. I remember reading a quote of his. "blues is a disease of the heart." I saw Johnny Shines interviewed a while back, when he made some great common sense, by saying, "you can't buy or sell a soul .so just forget that legend" . y' can't argue w/ common sense. please, Jordan keep up the invaluable work !
I'd like to see the show 'AUTOPSY', devote a show to his death. there certainly is more than one blues song concerning someone being poisoned. that's when musicians led dangerous lives.
Jordan, you amaze me. Discovering our hidden jewels in Mississippi, right in my grandma's backyard, so to speak. I swear I'm going to run into you one day. Welcome back.
I live in Lorman, Mississippi..I would Love to travel and see all these sites..I'm not far from Hazelherst, Mississippi..Thanks for sharing these stories..💕
Fascinating vlog! I remember watching that Ralph Macchio “Crossroads” movie years ago. Ironically, I kept thinking of the song The Crossroads - but it’s the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony version.
I have the 1990 that'll be early 90s of Robert Johnson two CD set that in a fat case, it was found at a Goodwill store 3 years ago. The case it's like you see the doors greatest hits or a musical CD in a fat case. Thanks for sharing this history and information that is educational.
Another great vlog. Definitely feeling the first grave is the right one. Funny story, when that compilation you mentioned came out back in 1990 it was selling so well a Sony executive asked if Robert was available for a tour. 😄
Thank you Jordan. This was interesting. I have heard of these stories, but I didn't know that it was base off of a real man. I wish I was able to travel like you do. You always do a fantastic job making these vlogs. 👍😎
I really appreciate you doing these videos. You're showing us a side of Americana that most people will probably never get to see. I do have to let you know that Robert Johnson being a Black man in Mississippi during that era is why an autopsy wasn't done. They simply didn't care. This is very similar to Sam Cooke almost 30 years later when police failed to properly investigate his murder in California.
Wow! What an awesome journey you have taken us on again! He belonged to the 27 club before it was famous! I can't wait to see where you take us next! Please say hello to you mother! I still love the video, when you took her to Macon, Georgia 🌹❤️😉😎 P.S. give Jah a pet from me!😊
I love your style Jordan. Thank you! Subscribed because of how you stop to read the plaques and signs, often overlooked but valuable to me. Nice work! ❤
The same thing happened to the "godfather of soul" James Brown according to his son. In 1954 James Brown went to the crossroads. There he met a "man" James Browns gave this "man" some shoes he had brought with him. But before he handed them back to James Brown the "man" danced in them and THEN gave them back to James Brown. James Brown put them on and the rest is history. James Brown son said his father told him what he had done to achieve the fame and told his son not to do the same because it wasn't worth it. So " what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul" But REMEMBER THIS IF YOU HAVE SOLD YOUR SOUL, the devil LIES AND SAYS THERES NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. he's LYING. CRY OUT TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND HE ALONE WILL SAVE YOU AND SET YOU FREE FROM the devils CLAIM. AMEN
wow what a sad interesting story bout Robert. I think the first grave is where he's at , anyway's I've never heard of him. I look forward to know more bout him. Jah he looks so comfy. stay safe Jordan and Jah.
Great vlog again Jordan!!!!!! I read somewhere the whole Robert Johnson legend of multiple graves, was so to confuse the devil from claiming his soul..... Hugs to Jah xo
Fascinating! I knew of Robert Johnson through the Eric Clapton song and the Crossroads movie as well. I didn't know a lot about his life only his music and who he has influenced. Awesome that you were there on his birthday too. Thank you again Jordan- I am always in where the road takes you and so glad to be along for the ride!!😊🥰❤️☀️🦩
I went to a blues festival in Mississippi a few years ago and went to where the locals said the actual crossroads is where Robert sold his soul. Who knows if it really is the spot but it was sure fun to go. Thank you for another fabulous vlog. ❤️
I have been watching a few things on Robert Johnson but love your take on it and the places you visited. Can’t wait to see your other vlog on the rest of the stories 😊
Bobbie Gentry recorded the classic "Ode to Billie Joe" who famously "jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge," near where you were, and may have actually crossed over. Excellent video, as always. Safe travels-Joe from Joplin MO
Thanks I never heard of him but have listened to Robert Plant music. This is very intriguing! I'm only about 90 miles from Greenwood, Ms. I definitely looked these places up to visit next time I go through there. Thank you! Next time you're in the area consider a meet and greet.
Oh Wow Jordan Robert Johnson had the most unique story i have every heard of, I enjoy this video you telling the story of his life what an excellent job you did. Thanks for showing they lovable pup JAH laying there having a lazy day riding with his good pal, can not wait to see what the next video is going to be i know it's going to be awesome.
Mr. Jordan! Love your Channel Dude, because I can tell, you're always in "Flow (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi...a good Read)"..your "Calling" in life. You are Also NOT one of the few "youtube Bigshots" whom feel they have more important things to do then read comments. YOU , sir, actually read these things. So, much obliged for that! Wish I was as Goal Directed as you are.
Became aware of Robert Johnson when I purchased the box set of his complete works. The Mississippi Delta is an interesting part of America and until recently was very poor and downtrodden. With the rebirth of the blues every community now has blues clubs and blues themed restaurants. By the way the Eskridge grave was covered in poison ivy so if you come down with a rash that’s why. In any event your trip through Mississippi has made me homesick. Good job
Hi Jordan thanks for another very interesting vlog…I had not heard of Robert Johnson before, but am now looking forward to more vlogs on Robert Johnson. As always another fabulous vlog 😊 👍🇦🇺
Why did I have a feeling you’d post this video today? I was literally thinking a couple days ago if you would do a video on the father of modern blues. Thanks for making my wish come true today.
The first cemetery looks like there are not many graves, but it is probably full because back one hundred years ago many people could only afford wood crosses as grave markers. Since wood will rot, the only thing you see is the stone headstones that are left.
Great Vlog Jordan. So Glad you Did this One.😁. I was Always Fascinated by his story.♥️. Thank You Jordan for taking us along with you😁💜. I'm gonna Binge Watch All You're Vlogs Someday cuz I know there's Alot of them I've missed.💜. Thanks Again Jordan,. Safe Travels to You and Jah 💜♥️
I love that you posted this today!! I'm getting ready to head down to Tunica/Robinsonville for a few days (taking a break from packing since I saw this in my subscriptions!), and planned to hop on down to Clarksdale while there. Both the touristy and alleged actual Crossroads are on my itinerary (in addition to Deak Harp's shop). I learned a lot about Johnson in my music history classes, saw Jack & Ozzy Osbourne visit the spot, and now I'm finally getting to go see the site for myself 😆
Daze w/Jordan the Lion…. When you talk about the cross-roads or other mysterious places, will you explain what is the cross-roads. I never heard of it. Please respond. Thank you.
What I don’t get is that it states 26 years old on the certificate whilst the gravestone states 27 years old? Very thankful for these vlogs, Jordan. Hope you’ll visit the crossroads.
Interesting story...you hear of alot of entertainers in Hollywood who gave their soul for fame...you can find so RUclips different actors and singers who say so out of their own mouth.. Bob Dylan... Roseanne Barr...Jane Mansfield.. etc..etc ..goes on and on ..what a price they paid because I feel its equal to the mark of the beast..once you do it....your done...there's no repentance...no hope.. always enjoy your videos Jordan..I really liked the 2nd one with Gunner Nelson..I'd love it if you could do another and ask him questions from your viewers..it would be 😎 cool take care..God Bless.and give Jah a pet for me ❤️

Dropping that hat on Mr. Johnson's grave made my heart move. Great episode. I believe the first site where you left the hat is where he Lays.
I've been to Clarksdale Mississippi. I've seen the Crossroads and the most likely graveside. Great story The people were great!
Jordan, you amaze me. Discovering our hidden jewels in Mississippi, right in my grandma's backyard, so to speak. I swear I'm going to run into you one day. Welcome back.

If that is poison ivy on the Eskridge grave, the groundskeeper of the cemetery should remove it out of pure respect for the gravesite.
There is a Robert Johnson museum in Hazelhurst ms
Nice video, pure class when you laid your hat.
You are doing a very important job, history is important you deserve million s subscribers thank you ❤️🇿🇦

The original member of the 27 club.
Rip Robert
Great video 🎸🎶 but being a musician myself you never want to sell your soul to play better. You want to get as much soul as you can lol
Does anyone else see the Demon in the picture on the right next to Robert?
5:34 He died on August 16th. The same day as Elvis.
