I received one of those hugs by Paul back in 2022. We were in TN at a gathering where he was a guest. I was so nervous to get the hug. Tense. I had already been feeling anxiety about being there and my inadequacy. Which was a lie. When he went to hug me I said, "you don't have to!" Of course he knew that. But he did hug me and I was so tense. So tense. And he hugged me until my shoulders dropped and I let out a deep breath. It was such a beautiful hug. After the embrace he asked me a question: What happened that you feel this way? But! Right before I was to hug Paul I had eaten some chocolate pie. And chocolate makes my breath bad. We were too close and I didn't speak. lol. That is truly why or I would have probably poured out my heart. Thank you Paul for your magnificent hugs that calm a soul!

Your theology is so close even as you told me a few years ago in Denver that you still don't get LDS theology, perhaps because Jesus works through ordinary guys like you, me, and Joseph Smith.
Paul you had such an impression me, and those in your circle like Brad and Baxter. I read most of your books. I’ve been absent from your group for awhile and just wanted to check in on you. I see the Bible as a book of stories just like the shack, it’s just a story . I just wonder if someone as intelligent as you seem had come to that conclusion. The Shack could be as real as The Bible.
Hell is eternal, for each human until repentance. Why don't y'all understand that? Eternal conscious torment continues until you truly come to Jesus. Look at Elon Musk, the richest and most influential man in the world. He testifies of being tormented. But we also know that Hell is not eternal, for on the great day of the Lord, not the second coming, for that is personal in you, but the Second Coming to all, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.
