      I purchased this EXACT model from your Ferntree Gully store only YESTERDAY. We arrived in Aireys inlet this afternoon (Christmas Eve) and set up camp including the amenities tent. Only to find that the pump on the Thetford 565e doesn't work. SOOOOOO DISAPOINTED! I know it's not YOUR fault but after biting the bullet and thinking I'm buying the BEST model porta potti on the market I just can't believe IT DOESN'T WORK!! Pump makes the noise but NO WATER pumps out! Any advice?!
      So pissed that we spent so much money on a BRAND NEW CAMP TOILET THAT DOESN'T WORK out of the box!!

      Somebody replied on their other video and then water line from the tank to the nozzle was cracked or something. Sounds like it was a common issue.

      @@gavincoleman777 Hi Gavin, very sorry this one has taken me a while to reply to. Having a dead on arrival unit is very, very annoying. We have seen a couple of other units on the most recent batch of toilets we've received from Thetford with this issue. The issue is the hose from the pump to the flushing outlet is most likely split, meaning the toilet pumps the water, and then loses the water back into the cistern. It seems like someone in the manufacturing queue is too rough with the hoses - as there are plenty of toilets in this batch that have been fine too. We're working with Thetford to try identify the issue currently. To help you out on holidays. You can try to tape up the water outlet in the cistern. Or, a simpler solution is if you have a bucket of water beside the toilet - you can manually pour water into the toilet. Once you're back from holidays, we'll be able to sort out the top tank for you. Sorry for the hassle. We are big fans of the Thetfords, and they're usually very reliable but we are seeing more problems than we'd like with these toilets currently. Kind Regards, Tentworld team.

      @@tentworld Thanks so much for getting back, I actually pulled the pump out and cable tied it back on. Now it works like a dream! Very simple fix in the end and very happy with the unit! I’ll delete this post very soon. Cheers 👊🏼

    I bought this toilet a couple of years ago - it really is excellent. You do have to remember to pack spare batteries (if you want the flush - we've "manually" flushed it with a glass of water with dead batteries). Everything is nice and easy, height is really ergonomic. I laughed at the bit where you said you really don't want splashback when emptying - yes, I agree with that! A Lot. lol.

    The 365 model with the manual pump works just as good and you do not have to worry about batteries.

      @tentworld  Год назад

      Agreed, the 365 does work very nicely. Still, for some the electric is a nice convenience.

      @@tentworld Many professional utility-repair persons will use their own portable toilet located in the walk-in cabins of their spacious utility vehicles (vans, SUV etc.) to avoid using client's facilities. This is a preferred solution.

    that looked like it was leaking A LOT!!! (mainly when he took the top part off, but also when he went to pour out the contents from the base section). What's the go with that?

      @@tentworld I just had a look again..... 3:40 is when he takes the Top section off and it's dripping water (look at the video on a Computer Screen, might be too hard to see it on your phone), which looks like it dripped onto the base section..... so when he tips the base section out at 4:16, it looks like the base section is leaking too, but it may not be.

      @@DonsShedok yes I see that. This is just due to Deon focussing more on the camera angles and the presentation rather than being careful with ensuring all water from the top has been fully drained into the toilet before disconnecting - as you would if you were actually using this toilet and concentrating only on this task, rather than also talking to a camera. Rather than demonstrating with only water. Feel free to come into your local Tentworld - most of the stores have these on display so you can have a fiddle with them before committing. Please do give your local store a call before making the journey to ask if it is on display - so that we do not let you down. Portable toilets have been hot property with so many people doing bush camping with Covid.

    I literally wanted to see the button design when flushing, what kind of push-down it requires… but the cameraman literally cut that part out to show the hole…
    So do you just hold it down? Do you have to keep pressing it?

    Still no demo where the chemicals go. ?

    • @tentworld
      @tentworld  Год назад

      Hi there! The Pink chemical goes directly in the upper cassette aka flush tank (this being the toilet itself shown at 0:44) and the Green and Blue chemicals go into the waste tank, (this being the bottom section of the toilet) an easy way to access this is using the manual opening on the bottom cassette aka waste tank as shown at 3:48 in this video. Hope this helps!

      @@tentworld thanks I got this for my mum who is fragile after a fall. And has mobility issues and can’t get up stairs. My time it would be good to recommend an assisted frame for it as we’ve have had to order one an hope it fits. There are loads of people who buy it for this reason. I’m hoping it works out for her.
