The best to describe this game was growing pains. I really liked Vini and Mbappe, they really understood each other in this game which is nice to see. My only issue was the defense from Fran and Vasquez. However, Fran still was the reason we got the goal and him being subbed off for Mendy near the end was finally what all of us were asking. Vasquez though, I can't defend though, he really wasn't too good or too bad this one around and was the reason we bled in the goal. This game would've been so much better with Dani but Lucas will make it work, I just feel it.
Agree with everything. I thought Vini and Mbappe both linked up well and had a way better feeling with each other! Fran I don’t remember too many defensive lapses from him but yes if Carvajal is there I don’t think we give up that goal or it’s at least a tougher shot.

Here are my thoughts: 1. Don Carlo got outcoach. He thought that Vigo would take advantage of Carvajal's absence but Vigo's attacks mostly came from the left. 2. Fran Garcia played badly on defense. Vigo would overlap behind him and allowed them crosses to the box which led to big chances. 3. Jude pocketed Alonso. Jude played wide on the right to cover Vasquez defensively so he could not play in the center. Vasquez playes okay as he got jude. But he needs to step up his leadership when hes the captain. 4. When Rodrygo came on Jude played more centrally as Rodrygo could cover defensively. 5. Modric played the midfield up top with Fede and Jude covering defensively. 6. Vini should play the 9. He could do it better than Mbappe. 7. The back 3 of Rudi, Tchou, and Eder is okay as long as they play more deep to cover for counter attacks.
My thought 1 Don Carlo purposely tried this new formation thinking that Vigo is less powerful club but they attack much better. Sadly the formation was not that briliant 2 Don Carlo had Jude project this season where he pratically put Jude in various position (just like last season camavinga project 😅)
In my opinion we've lacked creativity in the midfield. How many times this season have we seen a creative pass like the modric one today which allows one of our front three running into space behind the defensive lines. We're either building up possession passing sideways and backwards untill the ball gets out to the wings and vini is running at defenders or we are hitting them on a counter. Again, the lack of creativity while we are dominating possession is in my opinion why we're not creating chances like we see from teams like arsenal, city, barca etc. I don't see camavinga or fede really have or show the ability to make those passes. Modric does. Jude sometimes. Guler can. Maybe we need to look for a creative midfielder next summer so we can see through balls or chips over the top of the defenders to play vini or mbappe into space

The problem is that Madrid has box to box midfielders but need a good central midfielder who can pass the ball yet contribute defensively. If Arda guller is put out there then either, Cama, Beli or Fede should be rested and coach carlo doesn't want that. If I was Ancelotti, I will give this below formation a try. There will be some balance, off the ball Tchouameni will be deep lying defensive support. I think a 442 with rodrygo and Vini on the flanks with Bellingham and mbappe as the strikers would be a straight forward solution. Valverde and thuameni as the double pivot would work.

It’s all good. I thought Fran was helping out a ton on the attack. Did the attack come from his side yes but I rewatched about. 2-3 times and he’s not out of position at all there. Vazquez didn’t come back which let a free runner go. Fran will never be perfect defensively that’s his flaw but he’s good on the attack. When Mendy came in I thought he offered nothing on both sides. Was poor on the attack and defensively in my opinion.

The stats are absolute nonsense. Jude was MOTM and contributed to the game more than anyone else by far IMO. It's such a shame that all his hard work goes completely unrecognised just because he doesn't score. Besides that, the defense was nonexistent. Just not there at all. It felt like Celta would throw a long ball from anywhere and it would end up in our box immediately. Starting Garcia and Vasquez in the same game basically leaves us with only 2 defenders: our CBs. Mbappe was frustrating, as usual. He doesn't run, doesn't press, doesn't risk anything. It's the complete opposite of what is expected from a Real Madrid player. I don't care if he scored, he contributed nothing besides a long shot. The game overall was frustrating and just another embarrassing performance. Celta should have won this; they deserved it. A lot of points I agree with you I was confused with Bellingham playing on the right they’re asking him to do a lot and it’s just a demanding demanding role with no real reward at the end of it. He’s just box to box all over the pitch. He’s doing great doing that. It’s just not adding up to a results for him. Courtois was very good. Overall there was a couple saves in particular that he made that I wish I would’ve mentioned more in the video how good he was in the scheme and how important he was. I think a couple times in this game as well, we kind of set up with a really high line that they were able to counter attack way too easily. I guess part of the issue could be too having Fran and Lucas Vasquez as our fullbacks. Not really defensive minded players.

Here are my thoughts:
1. Don Carlo got outcoach. He thought that Vigo would take advantage of Carvajal's absence but Vigo's attacks mostly came from the left.
2. Fran Garcia played badly on defense. Vigo would overlap behind him and allowed them crosses to the box which led to big chances.
3. Jude pocketed Alonso. Jude played wide on the right to cover Vasquez defensively so he could not play in the center. Vasquez playes okay as he got jude. But he needs to step up his leadership when hes the captain.
4. When Rodrygo came on Jude played more centrally as Rodrygo could cover defensively.
5. Modric played the midfield up top with Fede and Jude covering defensively.
6. Vini should play the 9. He could do it better than Mbappe.
7. The back 3 of Rudi, Tchou, and Eder is okay as long as they play more deep to cover for counter attacks.
My thought
1 Don Carlo purposely tried this new formation thinking that Vigo is less powerful club but they attack much better. Sadly the formation was not that briliant
2 Don Carlo had Jude project this season where he pratically put Jude in various position (just like last season camavinga project 😅)

In my opinion we've lacked creativity in the midfield. How many times this season have we seen a creative pass like the modric one today which allows one of our front three running into space behind the defensive lines.
We're either building up possession passing sideways and backwards untill the ball gets out to the wings and vini is running at defenders or we are hitting them on a counter.
Again, the lack of creativity while we are dominating possession is in my opinion why we're not creating chances like we see from teams like arsenal, city, barca etc.
I don't see camavinga or fede really have or show the ability to make those passes. Modric does. Jude sometimes. Guler can. Maybe we need to look for a creative midfielder next summer so we can see through balls or chips over the top of the defenders to play vini or mbappe into space

Rewatched it two or three times today still don’t think so. He wasn’t out of position it was Vazquez who was really far away and didn’t cover back.
The problem is that Madrid has box to box midfielders but need a good central midfielder who can pass the ball yet contribute defensively. If Arda guller is put out there then either, Cama, Beli or Fede should be rested and coach carlo doesn't want that. Next season, it would be great if we buys a young midfielder, who fits the profile of a Kroos or Pogba.

If I was Ancelotti, I will give this below formation a try. There will be some balance, off the ball Tchouameni will be deep lying defensive support.
Mendy will compensate defensively more for the left side. Rodrygo is good at tracking back. Valverde will bomb up and down the right flank (which has been out weakness), instead of running the whole pitch wasting his talent and efficiency.
Bellingham will pull the strings from the middle. Arda Guler can easily replace him anytime.
This Ancelotti just needs to use his brain a little bit like Mourinho.

I think a 442 with rodrygo and Vini on the flanks with Bellingham and mbappe as the strikers would be a straight forward solution. Valverde and thuameni as the double pivot would work.

@@DallyFC camavinga is at his best when he’s doing his box to box midfield role. Thuameni is actually the best defensive midfielder in la liga. And Madrid usually drop points without him. So thuameni is the first choice for that defensive midfield role. Valverde should be next to him as the cm.

I disagree with you about Fran Garcia. He was too high in the celta vigo half as shown by his position heatmap. In contrast Vasquez convered as much the Real Madrid's half and the Celta Vigo's half. The Celta Vigo's goal is also coming from Garcia's side. Also, i think Tchouameni and Militao should have been on Swedberg. Tchouameni was behidn the Celta's attackers
It’s all good. I thought Fran was helping out a ton on the attack. Did the attack come from his side yes but I rewatched about. 2-3 times and he’s not out of position at all there. Vazquez didn’t come back which let a free runner go. Fran will never be perfect defensively that’s his flaw but he’s good on the attack. When Mendy came in I thought he offered nothing on both sides. Was poor on the attack and defensively in my opinion.

The stats are absolute nonsense. Jude was MOTM and contributed to the game more than anyone else by far IMO. It's such a shame that all his hard work goes completely unrecognised just because he doesn't score.
Besides that, the defense was nonexistent. Just not there at all. It felt like Celta would throw a long ball from anywhere and it would end up in our box immediately. Starting Garcia and Vasquez in the same game basically leaves us with only 2 defenders: our CBs.
Mbappe was frustrating, as usual. He doesn't run, doesn't press, doesn't risk anything. It's the complete opposite of what is expected from a Real Madrid player. I don't care if he scored, he contributed nothing besides a long shot.
The game overall was frustrating and just another embarrassing performance. Celta should have won this; they deserved it. I wish they did, so we'd have the numbers to argue Ancelotti's terrible job this season. It's unsustainable.

A lot of points I agree with you I was confused with Bellingham playing on the right they’re asking him to do a lot and it’s just a demanding demanding role with no real reward at the end of it. He’s just box to box all over the pitch. He’s doing great doing that. It’s just not adding up to a results for him. Courtois was very good. Overall there was a couple saves in particular that he made that I wish I would’ve mentioned more in the video how good he was in the scheme and how important he was. I think a couple times in this game as well, we kind of set up with a really high line that they were able to counter attack way too easily. I guess part of the issue could be too having Fran and Lucas Vasquez as our fullbacks. Not really defensive minded players.
