Cowboy Tears took a few months to grow on me and now I really like the different sounds he went with. I can get not liking the silly country vibes but Playing With Fire may be one of my favorite songs by him and Suitcase Full of Cash is pretty damn good also. @@DancingwithGhosts Seems like Oliver may be going back to his old style. Looking forward to what's next. Have you ever listened to Arden Jones? He reminds me a bit of Oliver.
as a fan of about 2.5 years this new album is a massive disappointment. i would only 4 or 5 tracks on the album to be good. the rest ranges from just ok, to really bland and forgettable, to just earbleeding in california's case. since the life goes on success everything has gone downhill in terms of both music and oliver as a character. btw speaking of life goes on, yeah the studio version is terrible but i would really recommend listening to the pre-release live performance. the live version has better production, its in a lower key, and it has an extra rap verse that makes me wonder why he removed it from the final version.
oh god California was easily the worst track on the ablum how the fuck could he have heard that back in the studio and been like ''yeah that sounds good'' and i like the remix of ''on and on'' a lot better than the original version, haven't heard the live pre-release yet

i just hate his character. i feel like it’s supposed to cover up his insufferable personality, because there are a couple times where it doesn’t feel like he’s playing the character, but he still has the same terrible personality traits
He was actually one of my favorite artists but then life goes on came out, and even worse the remix for jerk came out. He still has potential but I’m one of the guys who “liked older songs” or think mainstream “ruined their music”. I personally think the same thing happened to carti, after they released one subpar song becoming a hit, they begin coming out with mediocrity. Only a few gems
I find it hella funny when people can’t get behind an artist who they like progression into their true form of music that they like. And call them wack when it’s actually the person pointing the finger like this old Greg lookin dude that’s the wack one…
i get the point of his whole complete persona, but as long as he goes on his living meme satirical thing has become more and more cringe (at least to me) he released 2 new songs and will release a new album in september, the new songs are cool and all but they are annoying if you compare to the old ones. im honestly not hyped for the new album. i really loved tree and oliver tree but yeah here we go again

The cowboy character was supposed to represent The mainstream genre with but with its own twist on it(or at least that’s what I see with it). If he's actually doing his last show ever, my theory that he made a country album to try and get Atlantic Records to part ways with him has some validation. If not, absolutely idiotic move based on country being the most popular genre of music in America.
Apparently my Sister's friend used to date him and he called her shit at singing and he called her ugly. im just im just mad he always seemed like such a good guy. and im sad that he's just he's just not. Oliver, if you're somehow reading this Get yo ass outta here.
I'm definitely happy that oliver us trying new things. Yes, the cowboy persona is a bit much and the music videos can be kinda..... But I love cowboy tears and every time I listen I like it more and more! I get that Cowboys tears isn't really a country album, but it has a country theme. Maybe it's the lyrics or the way it just sounds idk, but I am definitely happy that oliver tree is trying new things!! Also, about life goes on. Life goes on isn't the best if his songs. I like it, but Hurt or Cash machine would win me over easily. Oliver is happy that he got a huge boost of success from this song, yet he is also a but disappointed that it wasn't one of his better songs that he put work into. He also stated in the Logan Paul stream that life goes on is over 8 years old and that he didn't put very much work into it. Either way, I'm glad oliver is doing new stuff and I'll always be his biggest fan! (Also, oliver tree's new song "I hate you" Is actully really good. It's like a mix of cowboy tears and ugly is beautiful.)
I started listening to Oliver tree because of life goes on and on. Agree that his first album is really good but I don't agree that the deluxe was a totally trash. I really like all in all and life goes on and on. All in all is a great song and while I don't like life goes on like his other songs I think it's still quite good but I might have bias since it's the first song I heard from him. I also don't see why he switched to cowboy music but I really like most of his songs on this album and mabye because I started listening to him just before he switched to cowboy music, I didn't really mind the switch
I made a follow-up video to this that talks about him ditching the cowboy look and his new hit "miss you"

@@DancingwithGhosts damn
@@DancingwithGhosts I total y agree with this comment
@@lasercams i mean it's grown on me but it's not nearly as innovative as his earlier stuff or Ugly is Beautiful.. he literally blew his load on his first album
great video josh!
thanks again Patrick!
I love basically all his songs.
Listen to his words. I get the vibe he’s another Chester or Dolores. Tons of pain. Tons of healing and love.
Nice vid 🤠😭
haha thanks
Check out his music when he went as just Tree. Splitting Branches is the album. Your welcome
i checked it out.. it was ok.. ugly is beautiful is way better
@@DancingwithGhosts 🤣 its good too lmao... just saying that his new stuff isnt half as good as his OLDEST works
Oliver Tree is the best and I like everything he puts out!
I think the reason why he did’int like oliver new grove is because he listion to a country song
He’s creating a better multiverse than marvel with all his characters and art, let the man cook
when he dropped hood i thought he was gonna be game changing bro
Oliver has returned to form a bit recently, althougha bit more poppy.
And he's apparently doing one massive show soon.
so out of retirement for the.. 3rd time now? lol
@@DancingwithGhosts pretty sure "retirement" is just a running joke to him.
Seriously i fucking just started listening to this guy
I don’t know I’ve enjoyed a lot of what I’ve heard from Oliver. Yeah there’s garbage in there but there’s some really great stuff including things he’s sung on like Forget It. I can get not liking the silly country vibes but Playing With Fire may be one of my favorite songs by him and Suitcase Full of Cash is pretty damn good also.
I honestly can’t wait to see what comes next for this artist.
Much like yourself he’s the first artist that I’ve really liked in a long time.
cowboy tears has grown on me .. more of a slowburn.. ugly is beautiful was pure fire though.. you could hear the years of pre-production for that one
@@DancingwithGhosts Seems like Oliver may be going back to his old style. Looking forward to what's next. Have you ever listened to Arden Jones? He reminds me a bit of Oliver.
@@collector1338 yeah im gonna do another video on Oliver Tree and hanging out his cowboy hat
I saw him as gimmicky. But i loved his first gimmick, his weird tiger king country star persona is a miss with me. I just hope to enjoy his next one
yep, agreed
Man the second album is a masterpiece to
that carousel line was in reference to Melanie Martinez because he's sour grapes. she had the last laugh tho
All the respect i had for him went away when he was featured in a dhar mann video
Reject Oliver Tree, Return to Glass Animals
as a fan of about 2.5 years this new album is a massive disappointment. i would only 4 or 5 tracks on the album to be good. the rest ranges from just ok, to really bland and forgettable, to just earbleeding in california's case. since the life goes on success everything has gone downhill in terms of both music and oliver as a character. btw speaking of life goes on, yeah the studio version is terrible but i would really recommend listening to the pre-release live performance. the live version has better production, its in a lower key, and it has an extra rap verse that makes me wonder why he removed it from the final version.
oh god California was easily the worst track on the ablum how the fuck could he have heard that back in the studio and been like ''yeah that sounds good'' and i like the remix of ''on and on'' a lot better than the original version, haven't heard the live pre-release yet
So I just watched about 5 of your videos, for how bright the colors are in the must've triggered a Powerpuff girls thing
.the name salami swami just got pulled out of my brain file..that was a Powerpuff girl enemy right?
i wouldn't know :0
@@DancingwithGhosts i guess you're ba few years younger than me.i would pretty much only watch cartoon network if I was anywhere for weird cartoons and adult swim.the old powerpuff girls was good and funny..the newer ones are t even as good.lol
Now what because he’s releasing a pop album soon
Freaks and Geeks is very reminiscent to Daniel Johnson to me and I like that.
I knew who he was but I didn’t know why he was famous. I enjoy h3 time to time& knew they’re big fans. The more you knowww
i would say he's internet famous.
Back in 2000 when I was a huge fan of Mindless Self indulgence, when they had just released Frankenstein Girls and I first heard that, I thought they would be the future of punk rock. I'm so glad my younger self had no clue that they would turn into a Hot Topic band and punk would die 😔
yeah back in the day i knew a lot of people who liked that band.. a lot of chics liked them which i thought was interesting
i just hate his character. i feel like it’s supposed to cover up his insufferable personality, because there are a couple times where it doesn’t feel like he’s playing the character, but he still has the same terrible personality traits
Only a few gems
its sounds like you never understood Oliver even when you liked him my dude. Whoosh.
He kinda fell off hard.
He's still here. Going hard.
I find it hella funny when people can’t get behind an artist who they like progression into their true form of music that they like. And call them wack when it’s actually the person pointing the finger like this old Greg lookin dude that’s the wack one…
Preach 😂, he had me in the first half. Had to dislike the video because of what he was saying about the 2nd album.
i get the point of his whole complete persona, but as long as he goes on his living meme satirical thing has become more and more cringe (at least to me) he released 2 new songs and will release a new album in september, the new songs are cool and all but they are annoying if you compare to the old ones. im honestly not hyped for the new album. i really loved tree and oliver tree but yeah here we go again
Just sounds like an artist has evolved you don’t want him to, people change man why expect him to keep making the same thing forever
The songs sound the same to me 🤷♂️ but then again everyone has a different cup of 🍵
To be honest I really agree kinda wish he would stop the country fake music and go back to normal pop/ hip hop music
No way he dissed brass monkei
Literally, "life goes on" is the only song of his i like...
ew why
@@DancingwithGhosts just sounds good, repetitiveness is not a bad thing. And maybe not the only song of his I like but one of the favourite
"the first new artist I've liked in awhile"
Ok grandpa
cowboy tears grows on you trust me its some of his best work you've gotta let it grow and I personally prefer the new Oliver tree in his interviews he puts a lot more of his own personality into his new character and is far more interesting then the spoilt kid persona he used to have the bowl cut Oliver will forever be classic but I feel there's a lot more substance in this new version of him
nah bro its a decent album with about 6 goodish songs if u want some of his best work listen to his music before he was signed to a lable and listen to all his unrelased shit its 1000x better the cowboy tears and uib is far better then cowboy tears to

i think if he spends more time on his next album he could be soon mainstream even. he has 30 MILLION monthly listeners. he still has a chance.
Yet he’s laughing his way to the bank. And that’s the whole point.
to make money? art be damned? wow what a shallow way to look at things
@@DancingwithGhosts I can't see a better reason. It's no different than Doja Cat and her song MOOO!. It was literally ironic in that it seems so terrible including the video. Yet she's made so much money from it.
All things are money, generally. Life is short.
@@aakburns The idea is supposed to be that every persona has its own idea behind it. The cowboy character was supposed to represent The mainstream genre with but with its own twist on it(or at least that’s what I see with it). If you don’t like how it sounds that’s fine I respect that but calling it a cash grab seems very disrespectful
If he's actually doing his last show ever, my theory that he made a country album to try and get Atlantic Records to part ways with him has some validation. If not, absolutely idiotic move based on country being the most popular genre of music in America.
its absolutely not his last show, he has a new record coming out.. oliver tree is a gimmick machine
Apparently my Sister's friend used to date him
and he called her shit at singing and he called her ugly.

And. it's still famous
when he was trending on life goes on he was getting attention and then he goes with russian music to country music smh
I'm with you dude. Was a massive fan of his first album and was sorely let down by this new one. Great analysis of his career so far too!
Thanks Rob, yaa... that 1st album you could tell he put years into making
I’m sorry but how many views has “Life goes on” 270 million give or take. Cannot say it’s a flop😂
Cowboy tears was great it was like he played red dead 2 and created an album
I love all of oliver tree music for some reason I like life goes on I'm new to oliver tree don't get me wrong
Should've trusted your instinct and edited out that bit toward the end where you sounded like a wounded angry ex-girlfriend. 😂😂😂
Wasn’t he being misogynistic tho?
That is why Melanie made the song Moon Cycle dawg
i have no idea
Also I would be super disappointed if this was his last album
Wait y’all know this is just bit right?
