- Is this Rusty Foxbody (better known as the BEATER BOMB) the Midwest’s Small Tire King? It’s hard to say for certain because there are so many FAST and well built setups out there, but it’s not often we see this Beater get BEAT! It’s a common thing for us to run into Joey as he’s one of the most active local racers we know, so it was no surprise to see him at Coffeyville, KS this past weekend for Coffeyville Street Drags. Coffeyville Street Drags is an event where a public road is transformed into a drag strip for a day and racers get to legally street race each other, putting them into some of the most raw racing conditions possible and showing which driver has what it takes to command high power against low traction!

After all the setups this guy has had, I believe he really doesn't remember lol.
Honestly I don't think he has anything much different to anyone else. Joey's strength is his ability to tune a car to a surface. Anyone can make power but being able to put it to the ground is a whole other thing.

The flagger has some balls standing between small tire cars on an unprepared track that's super narrow.
Fuckin a, one tire slips and you got 1200+ horses pointed right at your knee caps.
yeah, that and people crowding the starting line is a bit much....people don't seem to know how dangerous this is....ever bumped a car into a wall at 3mph? you feel it, imagine this shit hitting you. We used to just race with windows down and count down, nobody around to hit.

I've been a Beater Bomb fan for yrs but the whole "secret set up" thing is just stupid, it's stupid no matter who does it. What difference does it make if ppl know what engine you're running. That "track" is absolutely putrid. It's like it's a contest these days, "let's find the crappiest unprepped surface to race on"..."Hey guys, let's set up a track that has railroad tracks at the end of it". I even seen one episode where, instead of racing on the prepped track surface..... they said no no let's race in the shutdown area. Where soon after a camaro ran off in the field totalling the car. What's so bad about the traditional prepped track???
