This is actually an interesting time capsule to the 90s when a popular idea was that fractal math would end up being able to describe complex behavior. It ended up being bunk, like other ideas from the 90s featured in the this game. But I can see why it was fun to imagine some kind of deeper understanding of fractal math would come down and bestow us with knowledge to solve intractable problems.
Even if the human race where to go extinct and be replaced by A.I., Robotics, and nanotech...that would be the right decision. And if it ALL must go ....we should at least leave a library/monoliths. also, The Hive is a suffering imposing and suffering self-imposing PIG.
"a spinon carrying its spin -- the property making the electron behave as a tiny compass needle -- and an orbiton carrying its orbital moment -- which arises from the electron's motion around the nucleus."
I'm looking for a recording of the following quote without background music, "As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism." Can anyone help
@jmitterii2 i think what he means is that "behind" them is quarks, in matters of size. as that is what he was speaking about. smaller and smaller components. not neccessarily that they are a part of the electrons. just that quarks are even smaller :). that is my view anyways.
I loved the video and i thought also the music fitted. Also the police sirens in that music. I was just sad that after 5 minutes the music got a little to high volume until 6:40 D:Otherwise i favourited it ^^ Best character in the game
The music gets a little loud around the 5:50 mark, so it's hard to hear what he's saying, but i've heard them all so many times it doesnt matter. I love Zakharov and his quotes. Thanks! =p
@@Jimmy-vt3ge None of that is an issue if you are playing against AI. And in such games, early advantage is the key advantage. If you capitalize on your early advantage, later disadvantages don't matter as much.
The Zhakarovian code does not, & cannot, specify the nature and position of all truth, & may contain falsehoods, though it may be representative of views & good for analysis/reflection/experience/sampling/use/etc.
You might be right, but I played Deus Ex a *lot* and I don't recognize the music... It's probably something else. Same type of music though, atmospheric techno(/trance/whatever)
I think if you interpret it loosely it's talking about the transition from one type of particle to another, more fundamental type. What I objected to more was this: Begin with a function of arbitrary complexity. Feed it values, “sense data”. Then, take your result, square it, and feed it back into your original function, adding a new set of sense data. Continue to feed your results back into the original function ad infinitum. What do you have? The fundamental principle of human consciousness. I'm not aware of any kind of recurrent neural network or whatever that acts like this. It seems like it would turn into squealing meaningless feedback very quickly, as when a mic is too close to a speaker.
+Muhammad al-Khwarizmi no, because you square not an initial set of "sense data" but the result of function's interpretation of that data. It actually sounds very plausible. After all, we filter all the input from our senses through our mind. You can witness it with optical illusions. At first you "see" one thing but then your mind realises it's actually may be a different thing and you start to "see" this different thing even though visual input stayed the same. What happened is a very complex variation of what Zaharov described.
It's not the best-written line, but the idea is that he is listing the "levels" of particles, one under the other, that we've found over time. He wants to keep going and find the truth of it all.
"Behind electrons we find quarks." Wow, wrong. Electrons cannot, at least not discovered yet, be broken down. Quarks are particles that make up hadrons like protons or neutrons. Electrons do not break down any further themselves. You can have larger electrons like a Tau.
Great game. To my mind - this game was ahead of its time and was underestimated at 2000s. Special thanks to Sid for this faction, for creating Russians AS NORMAL and WISE peolpe, instead of dumbass Hollywood's stereotypes about us! Also thanks for critically important correction - the SURNAME of Prokhor! What the moron (in the beginning) named him "Saratov"? It's name of one of our cities, it's NEVER uses in surnames! I guess it was a russian voice-actor, who pointed at stupid "surname". So Zakharov (Захаров) is OK. So I think it's easy to understand, that "University of the Planet" is my favourite faction. P.S: fuck the religious fundamentalists! ;-)
THIS is how a real Slavic accent sounds like. Bravo for Fiarxis for hiring an actual Russian to do the voicework.
Real educated, intelligentsia accent, yeah. Not just Ivan Ivanov who learnt English in school.
it really isnt maybe it is for a city slicker but not a real slav
@@LumpyBumpyAcidFish an 'academician' is not going to be some gopnick ffs, of course he will sound like an urbanite intelligentsia
Heard someone at my work who sounds EXACTLY like this, I am told he is Polish. Very very surreal to hear it.
"That species shall be exterminated, I tell you, EX-TER-MI-NATED."
-Academician Prokhor Zakhalek.
real glad the team got a legit Russian to voice him... tissues-> teachers
you know, I think that's why the quotes sound so good. they have legit accents. they also speak their lines with conviction.
the one game i wanna see revamped, resold, revived and re-sold
The one of the lenses on his spectacles is a magnifying-lens, so it makes his eye appear larger when looked at from the outside.

"For i have tasted the fruit."
The quiet sass in that book title is just epic.
@@dynamicworlds1 Hardly epic or even all that sassy. A fairly predictable title from a Richard Dawkins type in fact.
Would love to read that
Don't mind me, Miriam, just TRANSCENDING HUMANITY over here.
what is this supposed to mean? He was trying to transcend humanity?
AND WIPING OUT WORMS
Miriam "don't mind me teaching the planetmind about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, 'genius'."
“Will we next create false gods to rule over us? How proud we have become, and how blind.” - GODWINSON, Miriam. We Must Dissent.

I am quite open to wearing Zakharov's bling of science.
These definitely NEEDED to be uploaded. I tried that project eons ago, but I abandoned it. Kudos for the effort and thanks for sharing!
behind electrons we find quarks, each layer revealed reveals new mysteries and also new mistresses...
LOL
"That species shall be exterminated, I tell you, EXTERMINATED."

Heinrich Zakharov.
That "ex-ter-mi-na-ted!" tone is *_so_* reminding of a soviet professor persuading someone, you don't get...
The music gets so loud around 5:54 that I can no longer hear the quotes...

My favorite faction by far.
Logic, science and understanding will be what humanity will grow better ! Even if we have to grow less human due to it !
Zakharov's protégé, Prime Function Aki-Zeta 5, is even better IMO
His faction is actually technocratic. Where man must adjust to technology no matter the result rather than make technology benefit man.

Thanks for putting the music in. I've discovered more amazing sounds created by humanity.

I still play this game. It's much better than most of the crap out at the moment. I always play as Prokhor Zakharov
They should publish "For I have tasted the fruit"
The most interesting ideology out of all the factions. Technocracy crossed with morbid scientific curiosity.
There's so many awesome quotes in this game. Academician Prokhor Zakharov was and is still my favorite.
the red and green circles are lenses - the difference in size is only perceived thanks to the differing magnification.
Zakharov is only interested in knowledge. His passion for this makes him a very attractive character.

Michio Kaku looks like Prokhor Zakharov.
And chairman Yang resembles Lee Kuan Yew, the founder of Singapore.

Are electrons really made of quarks since they're fermions? I thought only baryons like protons and neutrons are composed of quarks.
Technically, both quarks and electrons are leptons.
