You are really good at responding to comments. It is like being a remote tech club (that would make you club president). I spent my weekend putting a Lavaleer under a shirt with tape (watched videos on that) for a video on where it is legal and illegal to smoke (cigs) in Manila. Why the hidden mic? Well, I was somewhere that I NEVER go and it turned out to be very sane/normal but I guess I should finish the video.
Hi! That's a great comment - yes and you are an honorary member of the club! 😀 I also saw a video with suggestion that putting a lav mic under clothing can help cut down wind noise. I think I tried that a couple of times but didn't do enough experiment before/after to see the effect. I'll give it another go, as I do record outside a lot
Thanks for the controller hint! I bought the model you showed, and it worked right out of the box. Definitely better than the virtual one in the HoverAir app. One question: What's the gizmo you used to hold the phone and the controller in one hand?
Hi Jim, thanks for the question and glad the controller will be useful. The gizmo I just threw together with bits and bobs of standard adaptors that are common and widely available. Here's a video showing how I put it together: ruclips.net/video/Mnixg361NKg/видео.html
Hi - yes the Micro is the alternative controller, one that can have the buttons mapped (which I use personally) - this is the Micro which is a bit more plug and play I suppose. Thanks for watching!
I ordered from amazon the Nargos 8Bitdo Zero 2 mini controller. Great help and I set it up as you suggested. Everything works like champion, I used about 6 times and it is fun. The only question I have, how long the battery charge lasting in the controller, or how do you know it is time to charge it up, before it dies on you?
Hi, that's great that it help and the instructions were clear and it worked straight away. I've not really tried seeing how long the battery lasts in the controller other than it will out last he hover battery for sure. I' imagine a few hours though not really tried. Also I think it flashes when it's near out of battery.
i have a problem with this controller, i follow all the instructions, but only works in the hover app the select button for start the video... but if a go on a app with keyboard the keys works perfectly, do you know what im doing wrong??
It's actually a home cobbled together one with bits and bobs of readily available adaptors. I can do a video showing what adaptors I used and put it together if that is useful
I think it would indeed be useful. Would you please show us how you did it, and give us links? I like what you did with it; I’m even “noodling” over here in the US thinking about whether or not I can do the same thing with my phone. It looks like you have two phone holders…one with some sort of base device connected to it. The base device has a ball joint articulated into the most extreme downward alignment, again connected to a second phone holder. Beautiful execution. I think I would like to jury rig it so that a second elbow joint could allow the controller to be in parallel with the “bottom’ of your iPhone so that the app might be able to run in landscape mode with the controller beside it. However I don’t even know if the app can run in landscape. Most importantly I’d like to have US Amazon links to the parts that you are using. Thanks for putting this video together. It is incredibly helpful!
What happens if the hover x1 disconnects does it fly away and does it land manually when pressing down. If it disconnects from the controller cannot land just by holding your hand out
I can manage to connect the gamepad in keyboard mode, I can even type gibberish text in other apps but inside the hover app, it show the game pad diagram (so it know it's connected and working) but the hover X1 don't move (it move in virtual key if I switch). And I can take picture/video with the select button so it's working, but it won't move.
Hi - sure, on Amazon UK: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081HNH39K on Amazon.Com www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Gamepad-Keychain-Controller-Raspberry-Turquoise/dp/B081HML6MP/ Best wishs
Hi - that's a good question. I don't think so as it needs to be in keyboard mode but I will have a play with my PS4 controller and see if I can get it to work... I'll let you know if I'm successful
Hi - this phone holder I put together with standard cheap mobile clamps and tripod adaptors and here is a video showing how I put it together: ruclips.net/video/Mnixg361NKg/видео.html

I noticed that other people use the “micro” version of this controller!

Hi - did you put it into Keyboard mode by holding the R button and switch on, and then pair?
Hi. Thanks for your video! What is the name of the phone holder with a side attachment that you used?

Hi - as far as I know if it disconnects it just lands or hovers where it is -

Would a regular bluetooth gamepad work?
Hi - that's a good question. I don't think so as it needs to be in keyboard mode but I will have a play with my PS4 controller and see if I can get it to work... I'll let you know if I'm successful
Does this controller work *without* the Appon a phone? 💭 (thinking of giving it to a child…)
Hi - it can only be used with the Hover app loaded in manual mode, so won't work without the app running
For your phone holder have you a link ?
