I named my horse after Hidalgo. He pasted today and I played this for his funeral.

A man has achieved inner greatness when he has learned to let go, be it property, women or animals he tamed. Attachements... enslave.

Why is this movie criminally underrated as we drown in a deluge of marvel/DC capeshit? :(

Why do other people have to appreciate something in order for people like you to evaluate it's being good or not. Nothing is overrated or underrated, its all relative and exactly where it should be in being good or bad. As long as you liked the movie is all that matters.

@xXAngelface1Xx Well guessing he figured Hidalgo wanted to be with his own kind

Why does he let Hidalgo go? I mean, I know its probably the right thing to do, but still... Its like "Why??"

    • @calebdancy1733

xXAngelface1Xx he let him go because he didn't want him to be contained for the rest of his life he wanted him to be free when he dies. Remember Hidalgo was 10 he had about 8 more. I would have done the same if I had the chance

They had fulfilled their MISSION : to RESCUE THE MUSTANG ! What more was there to do than to HONOUR THE GENES THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE BY ALLOWING THEM TO PROCREATE !!!!

Both horse and man were far riders, those who had ridden far from their own kind. Horse in body and man in spirit. As Hopkins rode across the desert, even though he was called cowboy, he regained his identity as an American Indian, one whose heart had rejoined his kind. How could he then not let his little brother Hidalgo rejoin his own kind in body, when in spirit he had never been separate? In the end they each return to their own kind.
