    Electric travels along the outside of the copper. Which is why stranded wire is less resistive compared to solid wire. Basically your setup will conduct more current with less heat buildup. Keep up the good work.

      Solid wire has less resistance than stranded wire not the other way around.
      Stranded wire becomes a better choice for its flexibility.

    Excellent timing. I got my first 100ah lithium battery from power queen almost two weeks ago. All my sealed lead acid batteries are dead. One I got back in 2009 in december I think. The other two were in a power scooter and from 2013.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад +1

      If you take 3 Lead Acids, and add 1 of the 100 ah Lithium to them using a VSR in the circuit, you get 1/2 the cost, 300% the power, 30% more lifespan, and 25% more stability with the ability to run high amp Inverters. Stay tuned, I did make videos on this.

    Twice I ordered copper washers and was sent brass. Then I found another source through Newegg which were actually copper. Your "copper" washers look like brass in the video. Great idea by the way with the laminated bus bars. I have to build some with 2, 90 degree bends so your idea will make that much easier to form. Thanks

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, these I am using are those 85/15 washers for battery lugs. Supposed to not get corrosion on them. 85% copper, 15% tin antimony mix. No zinc or odd metals in them. I get them from NAPA Auto parts. Made for riding mower batteries. Good for 250 amps as claimed by them, made in Wisconsin. To get pure copper washers the best source is Graingers or Zoro.

    Laminated Buss bars are not a new thing, but you are right to do it the way you do.
    Back in the day I had to install my first one in an airport hangar. It was to link to a 400A 415V infra red heating unit control. I swore blind it would not carry the load and was firmly put in my place by Merlin Gerin (the manufacturer). It just felt too light to me so I took some pics of it .... way before mobile phones .... and on arriving at work the following day was told I had come close to burning down a jumbo jet (I think they exaggerated there a bit) but they did fly a team to the UK from France to replace it overnight ..... and they wanted me sacking for not torquing up the bolts.
    Well they did right up until I told them I had photos that did not match the new bus bar size!
    Strange how some things pan out! Nearly 40 years later I am about to retire from the same company ;o)
    How do you go on with temp monitoring of those stacked batteries. I am sure you check it but notice there is no air gap round them. Do they stay cool?
    I don't need to ask about the bars temp ...... they Are Cool ;o)

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад +2

      The batteries have a top to bottom taper to the case, they are not totally squared. So They have a 8mm grid shim on their bottoms to level them while laying sideways, and a behind the group look would show over a 1" to wall clearance and a good airflow around them. The final mass of the copper is 25mm wide and 3.25 mm thick, the equivalent of 1 x 1/8" with 3/16 x 5/8 copper washers compressing.

    I went to Lowe’s and purchased 3 gage copper pipe and smashed them with an iron mallet to get as flat as I can get them and it works fine with over 100 amps flowing through them.i smash the copper pipe as flat as I can get them to illuminate the Hall effect creating a magnetic field. That field can drop the desired voltage required, depending on the of the person and preference of the all out

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад +2

      The Hall Effect is very unlikely in your set up to any real loss or effect without introducing a ferrous material significant for passive magnetism. The bolts or screws may eddy some but not to a point where your power is hampered in any way. If you call a local AC/HEAT or PLUMBER and ask for 12" plus long scrap copper pieces Type L and Type K soft and offer them 2X the scrap price you can save a ton on buying it at retail.

    Hi . On your battery connection..should not the 2nd E made of this copper bussbars be oriented the same way as the first one? For symetry and equal resistance? I am thinking you want all those 9 12v batteries take or give same current. Keep up this videos ..we have alot to learn from you !

      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад +1

      You would want the travel to be balanced if you intended to pull near the max available normally but since this is 36 volt and the intended pull on them is about 50% at anytime this is OK. In a high use scenario you would X , -- and E the design for balance.

    as a scrapper im wondering about melting copper and pouring my own bus bars. would it require any special purification?
    a small setup to dress and shape the copper bars would not require a lot, and the removed material could be used to make the next bus bar?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад

      Purity should remain near the same if you use the right crucibles to do process and scoop off any slag of oxalated material from it. I have made custom bars in the past this way. You just need to exceed 95% pure to achieve the goals.

    How can these be less work intensive and cheaper than pounding out 1/2" copper pipe?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 месяца назад +1

      The 1/2 or 3/4 pipe is the premium way to do it, but the reason for the video was the copper tape is heavy enough, and handy enough that it should be shown as a option for so many who can make things similar from it when copper pipe is overkill or not available.

    I may have missed it in another video-why 36v rather than 24 or 48?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад +2

      Safety since 36 is many hundreds of percentages safer than 48 volt, Peak efficiency since the Mosfets and Diodes are at their natural highest performance between 29 and 44 volts, and the 36 volt is the most impressive way to charge with a 48 volt wind turbine in low wind areas.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад +1

      Copper, Always use only Copper. Even Red Brass is less effective than Aluminum in DC power. People think that brass is a great conductor, it is not actually due to the alignment of the electrons in brass compared to copper.

    Hello Brother John and Little Sister. Have you tried out the New HQST 100Watt 10BB Panels yet??? I might order some. Some of the spec numbers are better, some maybe worst ??? I don't know what all of the spec numbers mean in relation to output. I can't wait to see a video comparison of the 9BB to the 10BB. Thank you. Sportsmobile83

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  7 месяцев назад

      Avoid the 9bb, 10bb and what ever next they use to sell you panels with 0.68mm thick cells. They will degrade so fast its a loss to even buy. Only BluSun and Renogy have the 9bb with a full 0.90 cells. My absolute best find WHILE THEY LAST is the Rich Solar 5 full buss amzn.to/3vJg1mA and I am buying as many as I can while they are available, soon they will be screwed too. They have the 1.12mm thick ergocrystal mono cells, Best known as Taiwan made Q-Cells. I am trying like crazy to get 50 of them ASAP. They already stopped selling singles, won't be long then all you have is the new junk. I would rather a micro crack in a cell happen and loose 2% over a total hazing the thin ones have and loose 70%.
