    Couple extra things to note
    1: It's not an infrared detector, you can confirm this by looking through it and pressing buttons on your tv remote (if it uses infrared of course). In fact, it can't explicitly identify hidden cams, it just helps reflect off camera lenses.
    2: For the lens finder, you can set the led's to pulse which I personally prefer, by holding the 'GS' button down once the led's are on, with 5 different pulse settings accordingly.
    3: There's also a vibrate option instead of that screaming tone. Once the unit is on, simply press the 'MS' button. Crank it up to test it to see which mode is on.

      @@austinpratt9235 I know this is old but just in case someone else wants to know when it pulses as the lights shut off the camera lens glare should go away as well and then once the light comes on it should reflect again so it helps in identifying it.

      Heads up whoever is looking to buy: the newer model K99 does come with an actual IR detector on the back. More effective at detecting hardwired cameras by turning the lights out and using IR instead of RF detector.

    Ty so much for this video! I bought one of these because i do home health for a living and I thought that the older son or father or some one had put a camera (other than the ones they told us about) in the bathroom and so I wanted to know. But i couldn't figure out how to use it. I thought I did but I wasn't sure. Turns out I was using it correctly, thankfully. But it's still nice to have confirmation. And frankly I don't use it because i wasn't sure. But now i will. I travel several times a year and work in ppl's homes so i think I'll like having this toy

    I bought one from Wal mart it only detects hidden camera i dont think it will detect hidden microphone. I visited San Antonio Tx i was there for 4 months to be exact. The maintenance man had put a sewer line inspection camera on my vent. I got a ladder and i saw it and i pulled that shit and it detached from his phone. That SOB has been spying on me thru the vent. I had broke my lease because of this. Ladies this is a true story. I bought this gadget detector it only works on hidden cameras. Maybe it is not working for hidden microphone maybe there wasn’t any microphone inside my apartment. Huge lawsuit. I love my K18 detector.

      I had one given to me my sister found it in an a storage unit she bought, and didn't know what it was, but knew I collect all kinds of tech(I have 3 different Geiger counters, a wooden scanner/printer, a model 4 Tandy TRS-80 to name a few.) And while it may not detect speakers, it does detect wireless communication, turn the dial a little over halfway(one solid green bar should be lit.) and make a phone call on your cell near it, it should go off(like in the video). An emf detector should detect active mics, not 100% sure. I think might test it out(I have 2 emf detectors, and you can turn your phone into a EMF detector with an app, how well that works, never really tried to figure out, but be careful some are safe others may be full of malware. And yes I would recommend women, or anyone concerned with privacy should get one. Specially if moving into a new place, staying at a hotel motel or air B&B or regular B&B or if their landlord or neighbor seems creepy to get one.

    It looks like you have to get pretty close to the source for it to go off… Plus I couldn’t really tell the difference between the camera with the infrared on or off… In the ad it looks like it makes it shine really bright so it’s easy to see… Not so easy to see in your demonstration. This will be useful for me to find cameras… So that when I walk around naked… I know where to stay and so they can get a good view. Thank you.

      I personally would not recommend this if your objective is to find hidden cams. I've been using mine for some time now and while it _can_ help to potentially identify a possible lens, you'll be using it for hours.
      I find it's a real hit or miss with that.

      He had to get close because he was using a low sensitivity. It depends on your environment. if you have Wifi and dont want to detect that then yes you lower the sensitivity and get close. Generally you want to do a sweep for things anyway to locate them you want to be close to find their source.

      Vehicles that have gps trackers usually have strong earth magnets. Even if the gps is off, the magnet detector will very much help identify where one could potentially be. This is just a hypothetical reason to help understand it.

    • @NPCSN
      @NPCSN 4 года назад +2

      Microphones, speakers, and gps tracking cradles all have permanent magnets and give you another way to detect things. Also when current is passed through a conductor it will induce a magnetic field (probably too small to actually detect with this device) so you can pick up on operating electronics even when they are not actively transmitting.
      That being said, this is not my field of expertise. I’m a mechanical engineer, not an electrical one, so most of this is just running on memory from college about 15years ago. But the theories should be sound. If anyone knows better please feel free to correct me.

    I have a detailed question: I'm getting this low frequency, high hizzing sound throughout my house. Note: "I have been followed for some time lately. I'm being extremely cool about it; although what I assumed to be an investigation has turned into a plot." I've noticed if I'm talking inside or listening to something, this sounds gets louder. I have used voice memo to verify I'm not losing my noddle's. Plus I've sampled a few sound decibel meters app. Now... Is this an indication that my home is wired and could outlets be a way for someone to chime in on my privacy? Thanks in advance.

    Does not detect GPS signal, you can see lenses reflection, as for magnetic probe, another magnet would do that as it repels from the target magnet, nice toy, not serious detecting equipment, you need radio frequency oscilloscope equipment for that, expensive but works, I've tried all these cheap versions from eBay and Amazon and none of them detect GPS signals, this is a toy and nothing more, I'm surprised the box does not have MI5 CIA approved on it,

    What about GPS ??

    • @willworknow
      @willworknow 4 года назад +1

      The magnetic field detection is presumably for the magnet that holds a GPS device to the underside of the vehicle. That said, what if it's NOT magnetically coupled to the vehicle? GPS is a receiver and does not intentionally radiate. The key word, intentionally. The only way you could detect it is by detecting some type of EMI unintentionally radiating from the board, which if it passed FCC approval, should be minimal, but still somewhat detectable with a spectrum analyzer. This is the same theory as a radar-detector detector. A radar detector is a receiver but you can detect unintentional radiation of it's IF and crystals that get heterodyned up to something that radiates that you then detect. If I were to build a spy cam, I would have it record to flash and then upload the video once a day, in the middle of the night. The RF section would never be active. This is the first device I have seen with the lens spotter.

      The LED's are used to find reflective surfaces such as on camera lenses. The purpose of the viewer is to intensify this visual. The led's are also able to pulse which to me, is my preferred mode. It helps make it easier to differentiate a possible reflection or light source. The light source would stay lit, and the reflection blinking.
