Thanks for vlogging even amongst these allergy attacks. This is why I keep following you because you always keep it real with us and not just show us the rainbows and unicorns. I hope your eye has gotten better by now. Allergies in the Spring and Summer time can be brutal. Mine are usually in the form of a running nose and sore throat or coughing.
I recommend having a full blood screen allergy test done. It could be a food allergy or allergy to a preservative which makes it incredibly difficult to pinpoint unless you have full blood panel done
hello lizzy you could put some black tea bags on your eyes, it is known to calm irritated eyes. just soak them in hot water, drink the tea and let the bags go cold again (without squeezing aaall the water out, it should remain watery) then put them on gently (just like cucumbers). xo
Allergies are the worst. It can be so hard to pinpoint what’s causing the problem. I have an allergy to the pollen of a specific flowering tree, but it took like three rounds of tests to find out what it was. Most of the time it doesn’t bother me but for like three weeks in April my eyes swell up.
Allergies are so awful!! Have you always had Lilies in your house? I'm extremely allergic to lilies and most spring flowers actually (lilacs etc) my eyes swell up so bad from them... if the lilies are new to your home they could potentially be the culprit.. Anyway I hope you get relief soon... xo
I absolutely adore your vlogs but I also come to find out what music you've been listening to lately - whenever you post a new vlog, the music you've chosen is always the soundtrack to the rest of my week!
I hope your allergies clear up soon Lizzy! Also I'd love a video about your favourite comfortable bras/undies etc, always struggling to find flattering and comfortable bras, love your work xo
Lizzy, I’ve woken up a few times with a swollen face, re some allergy or another, it is always worse in the morning, i know it can make you feel really low (especially when taking anti-histamines), but hopefully it will pass super soon. You always look lovely anyway and your very sweet. Be good to yourself, take care x
Hope you are feeling better by now? Allergies are awful. I suffer from hay fever and often have similar symptoms; they were especially bad when I was younger. Thank you for sharing this blog when you were not feeling the best. Your honesty and 'real' vibe is appreciated. x
Hi Lizzy, so sorry you’re poorly... I had the same reaction years ago and discovered it was caused by kiwi. I had eaten a million kiwi before that but then suddenly my body said no to it. My discovery happened very unscientifically: I ate kiwi at breakfast one day and my face started swelling in the evening and my eyes were huge the next day. Took antihistamines and wondered about what was wrong for two weeks (the reaction had passed by then), decided to have kiwi with my muesli randomly another morning and boom. I then made the connection. I tried eating kiwi since and my face and eyes swole every time without fail... so now sadly I haven’t touched a kiwi in years. All this to say: it could very well be a food allergy, especially since you were traveling and not eating your normal day to day stuff. It could also be something you are still eating or drinking and have suddenly developed an allergy to which could be why it’s persisting 😞 Hope you feel better soon and please do the food allergy test 😘
Really sorry about your swollen eyes, hope it clears up soon. I am a big fan of you and your videos. So I was quite shocked when your mum came into where I work the other day. Xx
So weird seeing you vlog in Harrogate, that's where I live! Love your vlogs, always make me feel so calm whenever I watch them, hope your eyes are better soon xxx
I hope you are feeling much better now, and that the allergies are gone. I totally feel your pain- I have the past couple of days had som slight irritation on a small part on my gum were my two front teeth are- not sure what is causing the reaction and hope it is just the toothpaste I use. I have also had strange problems with my ears and eyes this year- the doctors can't figure out whats wrong with me (they did not really take my problems seriously). 2018 is not really going well for me health wise.
Get an allergy test done. Rule out a dust mites, seasonal allergies and other common allergies. I developed allergies to papaya and ginger even after years of consuming them on a regular basis. Also, if you’ve changed a medication recently or are on any medications talk to your doctor about whether or not it could be a side effect. Good luck! Looking forward to hearing how it goes and hoping it goes away soon! I know how it feels! But we all love you swollen or not! 😊
Aw Lizzy, hope your eyes clear up soon. I have been getting a very similar reaction repeatedly over the past 6 weeks, so brave of you to continue filming. I just hide myself away ahaha
I’ve had something very similar happen to me before! I discovered it was both eyelash glue and any eyeshadow with red dye in it! It never took quite that long for the swelling to go down though but they are definitely things to look into!
I feel for you Lizzy, I know how frustrating and annoying allergic reactions are. I have extremely sensitive skin and eyes and now and again wake up with a random reaction and eyes like golfballs...Antihistamines and hibernation are the best tips haha. To prevent reactions I never change my washing powder, don't use anything perfumed and only introduce one new product at a time and observe very closely how I take to it..
Random allergic reactions suck! I get them every now and again and usually don't track down what caused it. If you get itchy eyes make tea (without milk) let it go cold. You can pop it in the fridge. Use the tea bags, directly on your closed eyes for 5-10 mins. I laughed when someone told me this but it does work! It soothes and brings down the swelling slightly too. Apart from that, keep taking anti histamines and the eye drops prescribed buy your doctor. Hope you feel better soon x
I've had similiar experiences with this kind of thing myself. Not sure what I'm allergic to either since the swelling seems to last for days like yours did. Ice packs and benedryl work best for me. Licorice tea is really good for a sore throat. Thanks for sharing, your candor is really great and appreciated.
Hate allergies, I get eyes like that too. Pro tip (I've had seasonal allergies for years!) and it's probably what you have? Anyway, my tip is to wash your hair (or at least rinse your hair) every night before bed during the worst weeks, where pollen are all over. A lot of pollen get stuck in our hair during the day!
FEEL BETTER LIZZY !!!!!!! I admire like how positive you stayed through out the vlog. But if you're ever really not feeling well please don't feel like you have to put out a video, like you health is way more important. Hopefully it's not something in your apartment that's causing it. ❤️❤️❤️
I had an eye allergy on and off for about 1 year because I couldn't pin point what I was allergic to. It turns out I'm allergic to liquid eyeliner and pollen. It helped me a lot to use warm eye pads. Hope yours has cleared up by now!
Liz you have to be very careful if is a nasal problem you should check it out. Sinusitis sometimes when it gets chronic can cause puffiness in the eyes and you can get a serious infection from it. I really hope you feel better soon. Take care
I feel your pain girl. I once applied bee pollen on my severe acne skin based on a recommendation and I woke up the next day and was completely unrecognizable. Turns out I’m allergic to bees. Btw my skin broke out cuz I was eating so many things my body was allergic too. I hope the doctors can diagnosis your symptom soon. There is light at the end of the tunnel so try to stay positive 🌞🌤
My husband recently brought me a bouquet of wildflowers from his bike ride. They've been in the house for a week and I had terrible headaches for a week and couldn't figure out what caused them. I finally googled 'allergy headache', made him throw them away and voila! my head is back to normal :) So this could be a case of seasonal allergy to something that's in bloom right now. Hope you feel better now!
Allergies can be such a horrible hassle. I've had them since I was little and they've put me in the hospital too many times to count. Swollen eyes, swollen throat, swollen nose, swollen everything lol. Take care of yourself love!
Hi Lizzy, I had the same thing with my eyes, just recovering this year, took me a year of trial and error to find out I developed an allergy to nickel. Found in a lot of foods like spinach, kale, mushrooms, tomatoes. I cut back anything fragranced in my products and washing powder to make sure it didnt agravate it.Mine became so bad at first they put me on steroids and the 180mg antihistamines. Im 37 and never had such an issue, apparently you can develope these things. Good Luck! x
I had a similiar thing but with dry sort of dermatitis on my eyelids as well as extreme puffiness, due to stress during a difficult time! And it resolved itself xx
Oh honey, hope your allergy is clearing up by now. You can get reactions to things you've never had a problem with in the past, weird but it happens, so don't write anything off just yet. It's happened to me a couple of times and it's a drag getting to the root of the problem. The flower is Hydrangea, as mentioned below, it's troubling me though that you have a vase on books !! Lovely film, so open and natural. Be well X
Thanks for posting this, keeping it real as always! I had something similar off and on for 6 months, cycling between puffy like yours and red itchy panda circles around my eyes. Turns out it was my ex boyfriends cat 🤦🏻♀️ even just putting my face in his jacket in a hug made me swell up.Topical steroids helped me a ton, the doctor can prescribe something stronger than hydro-cortisone! Hope it dies down soon and you figure out what it was xx
Ooh, sorry for your allergy struggles! You DEFINITELY looked better in the last clip , there was a little more definition to your face, which had been covered by puffiness in the video earlier. I hope you find the cause or at least a solution! The white flowers on your coffee table are hydrangeas. I think straight-sided vases are the best! I wish you would do a testing basics on work appropriate summer shoes - my office dress code does not allow toeless or backless shoes so it can challenging to find shoes that look and feel summery and that are not too hot (!!) but that are office appropriate. I think the heel-less part is really overly strict (hello slingbacks!) but this is the code I must abide by and maybe others do as well.
Back in january i had a terrible allergic reaction in the face, out of nowhere it turns into a patchy red puffy hell and it takes about half hour to go away. The inmunologist makes me a blood test and nothing unusual appears there 🤷🏼♀️, so from there i started to take anthiestaminics every day and the problem desappears. Some times this things remain a mistery 🛸. Some tips that my dermatologyst have me and help me with my allergic dermatitis and sore face: stop using any cleanser on your face and use only warm water, stop using makeup in your eyes until they are completely good and then switch your maskera for one that you can remove with water (clinique ones are great and also hipoallergenics). I hope you get better!
If you use Garnier micellar water that could be it - I had the worst allergic reaction in my eyes from that and they were swollen, red, burnt and flakey - was gross! Hope you feel better x
I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. I hope you feel better soon. I had a horrible reaction, my face was so swollen, it was like I was the one who lost badly after a boxing match. That said, they did some tests and I am allergic to tree nuts (all nuts are tree nuts except for peanuts which are legumes). I suddenly, out of nowhere, developed this allergy. Not to scare you but my swelling took a month to go down. Nuts are everywhere. Obviously I can't eat nuts nor food with traces of nuts. And I used to live off of almonds. No more. Good luck and good health ;(
I had a reaction like that from using brown paper towels from a rest room now I only use a white paper towel and pass on the brown it must have been a chemical I think from the paper towel that caused it, maybe think back if you’ve used something new that could have gotten close to your eyes?
Lizzy I had the exact same thing happen to me on the Wed that's just passed! Got off a long haul flight, eyes and face felt really strange and basically ended up with swollen eyes and cheeks for 3 days. Didn't use any new makeup/clothing, so I figure I must have picked it up on the plane. Loratidine really helped, and washing the eye and cheek area with very warm water (boiled and left to cool). Hope you're feeling better, I had a big meeting and I was equally frustrated/worried I would shock everyone! Sending love Xxx
Lizzy I've been a loyal follower and I sent you two or three messages on Instagram with regard to fur fashion please would you be kind enough to answer under username DrQuin be kindly appreciated
I once had a similar allergy, my eyes and lips would swell up really bad. My doctors found it could be food preservatives. I changed a bit my diet what really helped. Hope you get better soon 😊😘
My sister had the same symtoms as you and it turned out she had a rare form of mononucleosis (even though she didn't feel particularly tired)! Hope you will feel better soon !

such a nice vlog Lizzy! hope you get back to yourself soon. just wanted to give some feedback - 'mong' is actually a derogatory word against disabled people and could very well offend some of your disabled viewers! you are usually very eloquent with your words which was why I was disappointed to hear it from you! maybe it was just a slip of the tongue! x
Thank you so so much for this comment I completely overlooked my use of that word and I’m so sorry. also thank you for pointing that out in such a kind way!!! Xxx

i work at zara and we love picking stuff up off the floor. In actual fact, its the only reason i work there
Alex Ivory 🤣🤣🤣
This is the best comment i have ever seen. Hahaha
susannah sweeny what can I say, RUclips comments, picking things up, I can do it all
Thank you for sharing and being genuine where others would (understandably) not. THIS is part of the reason I enjoy your videos so much xx
Your music taste is insane!!!! I'd love a video showing some of your current favourite artists/albums etc
Hope you feel better. Really respect you for being a blogger and putting yourself out there in this way. Not many would do that.
Thank God for moms! When we're sick we always want mom
I'm so sorry about the nightmare allergies! I so relate to the nighttime review of all of the things you should have said. Horrible for sleep!
Hope you feel better soon. Still enjoyed the vlog. Thanks for sticking with it X

Ah poor Lizzy. You really are a trooper - putting up a video despite being poorly. Well done to you for carrying on. And thank you. X

Poor you - it might be the lilies and flowers in general causing the allergy. I'd try a week without cut flowers, and it might improve. X
Aw man hope you you’re feeling better, feel so bad for you
This is so relatable! Don't worry, Lizzy, it will end! Take care!

hi Lizzie, i adore that black ribbed tank top you were wearing, could you share where it’s from? hope you’re feeling better x

Lizzie do you use micellar water? I had been using it for years and all of the sudden my eyes had a massive reaction to it very similar to yours!
I once had a similar allergy, my eyes and lips would swell up really bad. My doctors found it could be food preservatives. I changed a bit my diet what really helped. Hope you get better soon 😊😘
Maybe you’re allergic to those new flowers
Yay a vlog!
Is it strange to think that you still look reallyyyyy pretty with allergies😂 get well soon! Great video!
My sister had the same symtoms as you and it turned out she had a rare form of mononucleosis (even though she didn't feel particularly tired)!
Hope you will feel better soon !
This sort of thing can be a version of hives called angioedema. Just watch that you haven't been eating any unusual high histamine food like a lot of strawberries or fish or shellfish. Otherwise anti histamine is the right course.
Liz Seville wow I said the same thing as my Dad was recently diagnosed with rare hereditary angiodema... not life threatening but an epi-pen is recommended in case the swelling reaches the throat
Feel better soon
Well done you Lizzie for keeping it real ! My son same age as you has similar allergies going on !
aww! no hope you get better. I would of put ice on my face and taken allergy medicine.
I have these allergies when I use new facial cream. be very careful...though they are expensive...especially perfumed ones.
My friends eyes did the exact same thing one year on holiday, it was too much sun exposure?! It had never happened to her before and hasn’t again since.. was a weird one x
It could also be ocular rosacea. I had that and it was misdiagnosed for years as allergies.
aww lixzzy, feel better!
We wonder what could've caused the allergic reaction! Either way you are beautiful, hope you get better soon!
I have the same allergic reaction tho many things. Some airborne as well as some foods. Usually when my immune system is weak I end up actually having a full on flare up. I would go grey already tested if I were you because mine have become worse over the years. As my reactions progressed over time, the symptoms changed and the last time involved closing of my nasal passage, huge eyes and the hospital.
Hi this is random... but I would like to say that I get the same kind of allergic reactions. I literally have no idea what they are from but every day I take a Claritin pill and another pill and they seem to help most of the time. When I get a reaction, random parts of my body get swollen... like a patch of my arm or my eye does. Even sometimes my lips 😭😭 I hate it so much and the next day, the part that was swollen feels sore
I had very similar allergies 5-6 years ago. Appeared out of nowhere and my dr just told me to take benadryl (antihistamine), it went away in a couple of weeks and I haven't had it since. I still dunno what I was allergic to...it's a mystery.
Hope you get well soon!
Hope you feel better soon. You look great puffy eyes or not!
I've been dying to know what you thought of your Everlane Tote that I saw on IG. I think you had it in Blush? xoxo
Hi, if this keeps going it may be time to ask the doctors about antibiotic eye ointment. It usually a 5 day treatment but it works great.
P.s. oldest son is also allergic to cats and lillies. Youngest one peanuts/pollen/grass and feathers. Me - Im allergic to the lot !

This happens to my eyes when I get too much sun.
Ps also if it were that avoid nsaids like aspirin. I had that kind of swelling and the cause was aspirin.
Maybe its those new flowers you bought?
The white flowers are Hydrangeas

I had a very similar reaction when eating clams
PS for shooting, just rock some REALLY big sunnies 😊
such a nice vlog Lizzy! hope you get back to yourself soon. just wanted to give some feedback - 'mong' is actually a derogatory word against disabled people and could very well offend some of your disabled viewers! you are usually very eloquent with your words which was why I was disappointed to hear it from you! maybe it was just a slip of the tongue! x
Thank you so so much for this comment I completely overlooked my use of that word and I’m so sorry. also thank you for pointing that out in such a kind way!!! Xxx
Also try a warm compress over you eyes
hope your eyes get better
