Hate average speed cameras, I don’t speed but they always make you wonder if you were just a little over so wait patiently for a few weeks to see if a letter arrives. I do believe that many if not all average speed cameras face forwards and don’t take a rear view meaning bikes don’t register, if you look at them it does seem to be the case but still don’t want to take the chance.
I feel sorry for young people who were born into this nanny state. When I started riding motorbikes in the early 70s, there was no such thing as a speed camera. The majority of roads in Scotland in the early 70s were not really suitable for high speed riding so you did your own thing anyway. Plus, when dual carriageways and motorways came along, very few of us young bike riders had bikes that were capable of sustained high speed runs. I am now 70 years young and have a Suzuki GSX650F which I enjoy using the capabilities of it when weather/road conditions and presence of plod permit.
@@Jim-nm1en It does make you wonder with some of the roads. They are gradually lowering speed limits around here. Some places that were 60mph for the last few decades are now 40mph and 30mph limits. The roads haven't changed though and it just feels way too slow.
I know the roads to well, A63 there doing night work replacing the central barriers just annoying on a evening during the week, the joys of 40mph average speed cameras
At least they're doing some fixing of the roads somewhere... The ones near me could do with some fixing! The way to follow the diversion if there are multiple is, you have to remember whether yours has a circle, square or diamond on the sign, then follow those signs (assuming they've set up the right icons). I'm sure this is beyond the uncommon sense of most distracted drivers on the road. Did the squirrels try to steal the indicator? That bend looks like it's worth taking slowly: road surface upsetting stability, junction to the left dictating a position that reduces visibility, big warning sign, solid white line (more paint, more pain) and SLOW painted on the road. Nice ride.
They seem to have not bothered with the icons for some reason. Very strange indeed. The bend does need to be slower than the rest of the road but it's one that's incredibly deceptive.

There's a road near me where they all point the same way, meaning i guess you're good in one direction but not the other 😀

It's incredibly dull!

No rain to go with the coffee? Hardly a ride-out then! Makes a change though but... :)
It actually chucked it down with rain on the way back 😀
Oh fishcakes.
