Guys, i was in the Philippines for the first time last month, a few of the things they spoke about were true and some were not true, i did my research and i had a great time loved it and i will be back for sure, people need to realise when they travelled to another country things are going to be different.

😂 Thank you for a really entertaining video, after spending the last 35 years as an expat working throughout the world, last 15 years home base is Laguna, I can honestly say the video you shared honestly depicts about 80% of US & foreign travellers who are completely unprepared for their trips to places such as the Philippines. It has been awhile since I've visited there, Flew into Manila and visited and stayed in San Fernando, Quezon City and Angeles City. there where large stores in the malls nearby. The people are friendly and easy to chat with. They are just crazy trying to make things look so BAD. It is true those things can be found and seen but I would never visit another country without the proper research and finding the best options for a vacation. The Philippines is a beautiful country. I plan on returning in the near future and head to the Dumaguete area.

This popped up again today for me. His face tells me, "did you see the women I could have had there?". Then her with her "I'll LET him talk about....". Compare 1st world to 3rd world countries? Well ok, that makes sense in someone's brain. Have you been to Chicago, LA, Atlanta? Step outside the airport and you want to turn around and fly back out immediately. You don't go down to Atlanta at night (and haven't for decades) unless you're going to a concert or sporting event where there are lots of other people, and even then you don't hang around afterwards for long.

I couldn't stomach them for very long. They seem to be very polite and friendly to the viewers, but as travel professionals they missed the mark. It's difficult to take or receive guidance from people who obviously make bad decisions. I hope they can travel to countries and get away from the big cities. Life should be enjoyable, looks like they were tired when they got off the plane and rented near the airport. Manila, Angeles, and Cebu..? None are vacation spots, yet they all have so much to offer if the effort is there. Good vibes guys 👏👏

You guys are great together. 1st I subcribed to Gio and then he mention Maya and now I am subscribed to both of you! I am retired been living outside of the USA for over 5 years. Because of your videos my wife, mother-in-law and I are all going to stay in the Philippines for 6 months. We will 1st start in Cebu IT Park, but I just hope they do not have a toilet with a hole in the ground or a garden hose spayer without written/pictures direction on how to use it. LOL 🤣

I watched their video and felt that it was their opinion, through their eyes. Though no doing research, holding a bad experience over to explain why you shouldn’t move to the Philippines shouldn’t have been made that way. Maybe it was for clicks. But using stock footage not from the Philippines is not good, especially when you know that their video would be critiqued. Glad to see that you did a reactionary video because someone that subscribes to everything Philippines and moving there would possibly see both.
I love the jeepnys. Once you learn the route and the fees it’s great. I liked leaving the driving to a payed professional.
It is obvious these people did not do their homework before going to Philippines. I researched for 2 years before I went to Iligan City in Mindanao. There are USA style supermarkets mostly in the malls. Restaurants all over the place with signage, you would have to be blind to miss them. Whats wrong with riding in a Jeepney ? At least gibe it a try you might have fun. There are also trisikads and Motorellas in addition to Taxis. Last thing I would want to do is rent a car and drive. My research on where I wanted to go, Iligan City, Mindanao paid off for me many times. I have made 13 visits there and plan more. I always stay in a Hotel which has hot water and air con for about $15 USD per night and the room service can be very economical.

If they watched any of the good foreigner Philippines vloggers you would see exactly everything they talked about upfront. I have looked at renting air B n B in the Philippines and have found exactly what gio said and ones like they have said . You need to do research before hopping a plane, be prepared , which it definitely sounds like these folks have not done . Not quite retiring just gonna move too the philipines. I'm only 37 not and planning to move there in the next 5 years. I'm also single and think filipina are gorgeous so wanna settle down there but in not American I'm canadian and life in canada is far more expensive than the US. Also I've spent 6 months between Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia so I know what it's like around there
These two didn't do their homework before they traveled to the Philippines. Some is kinda true, most is false, and if you do your homework, then meet some Filipinos when you arrive, your trip will be a breeze.. After watching their video I wonder if they even visited the Philippines..
Having watched this my first thoughts were they didn’t visit outside the city in Manila which is just way overcrowded 😳 I found the temps nice and between 26-31c
I only found no hot water in the province outside Moalboal but I adjusted quickly 😊
I tried every mode of transport and had no problem although didn’t hire a car because I wanted to actually look around 😂

My goodness the Jeepneys are of the great parts of the tourist experience in the Philippines.
You only want taxis and buses why are you bothering to come you can ride buses and taxis all day in the west knock yourself out and ride them.
We purposely avoid them and opt for Jeepneys and tricycles every chance we get just to embrace the culture and have fun.

Watching Gio in the past and still, I really like his calm professionalism and truthfulness on all his videos. He’s real. These people come off as being fake to me. They obviously made quite a few bad decisions in their travels in the Philippines, but I guess it's paying off big time for the click bait RUclipsrs (such as them) The Philippines is my home since I retired and I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be and I've traveled all over the world.

With the right attitude you may live wherever you feel best.
Everyone can produce a list of negative or positive points, but without the attitude you go nowhere.
I could also make a list of negative points about the US, for instance:
1) food (junk, fast, unhealthy, no food labels)
2) medical health care only for the insured (in Italy it is for everyone)
3) violence and drugs and regular mass shootings.
4) too strict laws to abide, and too harsh consequences for not complying.(The US has the highest prison population)
5) too much social disparity between the rich and the poor
6) ladies over 30 do not look very attractive
7) very bad educational system.
8) boring language and no gestures. In Italy we love speaking, we love using local dialects, we love gesturing with hands. All this to better convey our message.
9) culture and history. US vs Italy Is more like Barbarians vs Civilized. No colosseum, no small historical towns, no historical remains. Take a walk in an Italian town and you will see, at any corner, something beautiful.

My list of points are simply a provocation. I don't actually mean it, because, even if what i wrote is true, you cannot judge a country by simple points.
I visited the Philippines and I enjoyed it. I visited approx 86 more countries in the world, rich countries and poor countries, and honestly i would be able to live in each of them. It's just a matter of attitude, no matter the good points, no matter the bad points.
I do not understand them saying no one has ever covered poverty in the Philippines. I have seen many videos on it and several vloggers are making donations and giving out helmets to children. If they wanted an idea of what it was going to be like where they were traveling, they should have watched Krypton Trekker. Many people have talked about the traffic and how bad it is. I would say everything that they claimed no one ever talks about has been covered 29:19 by you guys, Paul Old Dog, Mike from Mike’s Philippines Retirement, Filipina Pea, and many others. This video is crap. These people cannot even figure out how to wipe their own butts😂. I love my bidets.

The problem with the street food is that many do not change the oils that they cook the food in. They will use they same oil until they absolutely have to change it. NOT ALL, but many.
Visited Manila on business in 1998-1999. Wouldn't even consider renting a car there THEN. However, really enjoyed riding the Jeepnies, I'd hang on the back and enjoy the ride. My business partner there provided me with a car and driver for important meetings.
