I have the lone peak 6 and I love them for light hikes and off road running, they're really comfortable, have a super wide toe box. Plus their zero drop sole is great for people who wear barefoot shoes most of their time.
I got the 6s at the start of this year, nice and cheap because the 7s were being released. Absolutely bloody love them, they held up so well last weekend on a trail run in Wales with lots of mud and rocks!
I honestly dont see why shoe manufacturers havent made shoes this way from the start. I guess the ultra movement is pretty new and the light weight hiking gear has created a different class of pedestrians.
The sole of these shoes are as if inspired by a saber tooth fang to bite into the crags of a stone and resist slipping down. Then some engineer had the brilliant idea to also put rubber fangs facing forward to bite into the earth upon decent. Couple that with the fact they will dry out overnight practically. All the while providing a top tier plyometric exercise (being zero drop) and I’m left with nothing more to want in a trail shoe.
I've just bought the Timp for no other reason than a change. I usually have the Saucony peregrine and Altra Lone Peak in my rotation but fancied a change and so far not disappointed. The extra cushion is noticeable on a long day
Love my lone peak 6, I bought them because of your review of the LP5, I’ll likely buy them again when these ware out. Thanks for putting out great videos, you rock!
i use the altra 6 trail runners there so comfy i agree when they get wet they just drain so quick almost feels like your foots just damp and not wet in a way good review i love all your videos :)
Thank you for sharing! Ive loved my lone peak 5 and have put over 600 miles on them, I just bought a pair of lone peak 6s. Ill have to try the 7s next!
I'm in the market for footwear on a through hike of the GR 11. I picked up the Xero Fusions but they aren't much good for wet rocks for slip. I'm packing 25-28 lbs all in. Do you think the Lone Peak 7's would be ok for that? Is there enough shoe there?
Nice to hear your opinion on the new 7s as I am interested how they stack up next to the 5s (which I have been using for a year or two). From memory I think you used the 5s on the Cape Wrath trail and I wondered if you still got on with them. Do you use the stock insoles ? I find them to be a little sponge like when it comes to soaking up water. Anyway all the best. Thanks. 😁
Cheers for the vid. Like you my altra 5's are on their way out after 600 odd miles. Same thing where the tread is what's going. Best shoe I've ever owned and completely changes the long distance walking vibe compared to a boot that would just blister me up no matter what. Will deffo be getting the 7s now :D
Great review. You should mention this other channel more in your regular channel. I'm sure many, tens of thousands of your other subscribers would happily subscribe here too!
1st time I I tryed mine on I rolled the top of the heal padding downwards, now all the heal padding is at the bottom of the heal which is really unsupportive.
Zabardast! Nice sharing as usual! Great love and respect from a solo mountain hiker friend from the Hindu Kush Mountains Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
I've got the 6 I tried them on a few camps but with the added weight I could really feel the stones under the sole so don't work for me in that way but for day hikes with no weight there very comfy the no drop felt a little strange at 1st but you soon get used to it.
I have some Altra lone peaks and they came apart after only a few months and I don't even use them that much :( The top is coming away from the bottom by the ball of the foot, just behind the toes.
Legit, Altra Loan Peaks are devolving. The toe box, the zero drop, etc. are all still there. But the construction and design of little things is lacking.

Yes!! I asked.. you delivered!!
You're welcome mate

Quite small feet for a 7ft 9inch tall burly Yorkshiremun 😂 Thanks for sharing, another great honest review as always.

The peregrines were a game changer for me evenry time I go out in boots now I regret it and wish I had taken the sauconys
@@rocketiain84 give the Saucony Xodus Ultras a try. They've just brought out a new version so the previous version should be cheaper.
I've got the 7's, but honestly the 5's were easily better imo, so friggin comfortable, and not overbuilt.
Great video, hoping you come out with more videos thanks for the review

DUDE I had no idea you had a review channel. Great news!

They've changed the sole away from maxtrac or just a different tread orientation?

Thank you mate, awesome informative video. No fluff, great content.
Nice looking shoes, thanks for the comparison. If they are size 9 what size foot are you normally (did you feel the need to size up)? Atb Andy
I didn’t need to size up. No need for thick socks with these
UK people are lucky to have that color way, I dint think we have it in northamerica
Great review Paul. I was interested to know if the new 7's would drain as well as the 5's or 6's and its great to hear they do :). Cheers.

Now looking at these you bugger! Been toying with trail runners rather than boots. Just curious have you ever tried hi top altras?
Never used trail runners but I’m tempted now. Shame they don’t do them in all beige 😂
heer is me, watching you., holding a shoe - Bostin
Do you recommend to get the all weather ones for some wet protection?
Absolutely not. They use really bad membrane and you want your feet to breathe and dry quickly.
I have the 6s and the 7s and I really prefer the 7s. I wish there were better colorways though!
I'm getting either these or the speedgoats
Love to know your thoughts on waterproof vs not..!
Hi mate what's your take on the all weather version particularly the mids ? Cheers keep up the good work 👍
i recommend the 6 over the 7
Care to elaborate? Or are you just going to let that hang there?
Try a set of enertor insoles in them, game changer for hiking!!!!
Zabardast! Nice sharing as usual! Great love and respect from a solo mountain hiker friend from the Hindu Kush Mountains Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
Much love mate
I'm really thinking of getting the lone peak 6s there on offer at the moment but I do like some of the colours of them 7s
You could even get the 5’s super cheap
@@OutdoorDaze I went for the 6s in the end🤣
Hi mate thinking of getting the 5 s myself look awesome and think you done them great justice look the dogs bollocks 👍❤️🦶🦶
Nice! Have you ever taken a look into barefoot trail shoes? I'm not sure whether to go for those or something like this!
I have a pair of barefoot running shoes and I like using them for runs but never used them for long hikes
I have shoes made from suplexed cows udders. Very comfy teet to toe action. 🥊🐄🍒

They’re more for super light hikes I recon mate. But like you say, great for day trips too
I have some Altra lone peaks and they came apart after only a few months and I don't even use them that much :( The top is coming away from the bottom by the ball of the foot, just behind the toes.
You want to email them mate. My 5’s have stood up to all sorts of grief
@@OutdoorDaze I might do if you think it's worth it. The fit on them is really nice they just haven't lasted 🤔
Shite I've got my paperwork to do now I've got to stop for 8 mins!!
I'll save you 8 min...... I like them
@@OutdoorDaze mate I'd watch your vids over paperwork anyday, looking forward to the next instalment on Sunday
Did you have any issues transitioning to no drops with the first pair?
I’d been doing a lot of barefoot hiking so I found it really easy mate
