Just sitting here and going thru my "liked videos"....Came across this again......Closed my eyes, listened.....More than once.....Its the raspy, fills, silent notes, ups/downs, octave changes in one breath, and that makes me happy and smile and my day is better all of sudden.....Isn't that what music is all about? This is excellent and I love the husk in Lauren's voice. It's quite melodic/flowy compared to the original. It'd be great to hear some more 'bite' - that powerful grit & hint of aggression that feels close to desperation which Chrissy brought. For me that is a distinctive trademark of this song.
Her huskiness ruins it. She can't hold a candle to Amphlett.

Lauren, Wow! I grew up listening to Chrissy (& Mark; the Divinyls), they are are part of who I are. I even hung with Wazza very briefly in the late eighties. Girl I reckon Chrissy would be proud. There'll never be another Chrissy, but your voice, your delivery, you categorically nailed this. I absolutely love it. Mark is a genius & if I can say, Divine(yl) intervention made this happen after more than a decade, I'm glad it happened to give us a most authentic & awaited revisit with you on vocals. Listening to you, it's nostalgic. That's the highest compliment I can think of. Thank You!

I've been a massive Mark McEntee fan ever since his Air Supply days. He is one of Australia's top guitarists who I rate very highly. So disappointed the tour has been cancelled.
Mark was only trying to revamp Divinyls to get money, no one could ever replace Chrissy.
But was a lovely cover lauren done, she has a new fan.
