This is indeed a pretty neat animation. The mixed jester/magician aesthetic was very nice, and the fight scene was eye-catching. The creator of Violet, Rebonkulous, has actually created a previous animation centered on Violet, called “Violet Duelist Demo”, which I believe takes place chronologically before “Violet vs. Dummy”; that animation ends with Violet starting the walk this animation begins with. A neat fact is that the main fight song in that beginning animation has its melody reoccur when we first see Violet here, which suggests it’s become her theme in the same way Gold Rush is GildedGuy’s.
What’s interesting to me about Violet is that, despite the real-world context surrounding her and Gildedguy, the two characters are pretty stark contrasts to one another. Gildedguy is very modest about his art while Violet’s a bit of a show-off, Gildedguy always had his star to seek out while Violet’s wandering seems more aimless (even their accent colors are opposed reds and blues). I’m curious to see how such a new character will navigate the same world.
