I'm a 16 yr old girl scout and since i'm in cheer dance and drama it has been an extremely easy dance to teach the young ones i really like it!! Cant wait about a lil' under a month left!!

I am a 16 year old girl scout. Most of our service area participated in a flash mob at our encampment, including girls from kindergarden up. It isn't about it 'looking good' its about the feeling of unity. Even if you can only do a small part of the dance it's that small part that matters.

i understand you guys' doubt, but in southern california, we did this at a county fair. at the time, my troop was going into fifth grade and girls of all grade levels participated. it went really well and it was a really fun day.
I am a 10th grade girl scout and I went to DC and I did the flash mob. I thought the dance was very fun and I'm even going to dance it through our town's fall parade today! 3

I'm a college cheerleader and cheer director of a gym. I was asked by local girl scouts to help out with learning this dance- NO WONDER!
1. These counts do NOT make sense. I learn and teach dances for a living... and this is one of the hardest.
2. The instructor in the video does NOT count properly or even in a way to follow the counts.
3. If I'm struggling, how are young girls supposed to do this?!
I agree with needing a mirror image... and I LOVE the idea of a flash mob! so good luck ALL!!

i learned the dance using the mirror image someone put up in a week. i am an ambassador though so for me it was easy. i cant dance, but im pretty good at it. but you can't learn it all in one day.i recommend learning the chorus and the grape vine thing first, and then work on each small verses separate (5 total)
i can not believe that i will be doing this in Washington DC in a couple of days!!!!! just finished swaps for it!!!! yep 31 hot glue gun burns mostly because i cant pay attention... CAN NOT WAIT... i pretty much know the entire dance!!!!but thats because i have had previous dance training but whatever... I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE U ALL THERE AND I ALMOST COULD NOT GO

i learned the moves quickly and a girl scout like myself took time into the moves and im trying to make up some myself and you will see me on the whitehouse lawn for the 100th year anniversery

Flawless dance, my only issue is with the repetitive lyric "ignite the world on fire." Igniting something is by definition setting it on fire. 8/10
Its just a song ok do you think the song means burning the world? *facepalms* Every song has a lyric if you come up with a song and you did that issue lyric you have then why you do it? Just learn a Girl Scouts help people not do something stupid

Created a mirror image video and posted on my page. Not the best quality, I literally used a mirror and a camera, but it's working well for me and my girls.
We really need a mirror image of this for the dancing impaired and technologically impaired (like me!) I hooked this up to my TV for my girls to learn and it is very confusing since everything is opposite. I am more than willing to flip it but I have no idea how to.

@scouter9933 Try playing the video to the mirror. That way she is backwards and moving the way you should.

Well, I want you to know that I myself am a girl scout also in 10th grade. I understand that girl scouts is an important and meaningful experience, but I really don't believe that many older girl scouts would participate. I thought the idea of a flash mob sounded fun, but when I saw the dance and heard the local troops SAY we were going to wear our uniforms, I knew it would BOMB from the start. If they maybe made a less-cheer like dance and didn't wear their uniforms, it could have been great.
@leeeeenda1 There is a way but you need to use a third party website and download that program. I put together over an hour of GS video for a council event, and if I can do, anyone can.
I love the idea of the flash mob, but wish this video was shot from behind the dancer so this could be used more easily for instruction. If you try to watch and follow her, every move is backward!

Until they get a mirror image up, here's what I was planning to do: I'll stand in front of the girls. I'll play the video so that I can see it (but the girls cannot) so I will be doing a mirror image of her. The girls will be standing in front of me, so when they mirror me, they will actually be doing it in the right direction.

I am a former professional cheer instructor and former fitness instructor. This dance is really too long for its purpose. With the different ages & difference in dance experience a shorter line dance that repeats would have been more appropriate. I volunteered to teach girls in our area that are headed to D.C. This should be interesting. The girl doing the demo does some moves different when it is slowed down for the instructional portion.

This is a great idea but the directions are horrible. There should have been a video shot from behind or mirror image with directions (I know there is one that a girl did but it has no directions). I am a leader of a Daisy troop. Way too many different moves and too many quick direction changes that will cause them to lose their balance. 4.5 minutes is way to long for a Daisy. Great idea but insane that it is mandatory. Tired of being told what to do with little guidence!
i THOUGHT it was going to be repetitive so i and others would be able to learn this and remember this faster but this is sad they expect us to do this?????
This dance is way too complicated for the girls to learn. I deal with younger girls. I am not sure how well this will work during Rock The Mall. Everyone will be close together.

There's a "mirror version" already on youtube. It's no good. This lady here just simply needs to turn around and do the same thing she did here with her back to the camera, unless that's what you are calling a mirror version, then .... get on it :-)

Good thought, but way tooo long. The choreography is all over the place. Girls of all ages will not be able to learn this and do it. Nice try.

Way too long and complex to learn. Anything longer than the Macarena is too much, especially for the younger girls. This has over 15 8-counts to learn...I lost count, to be honest--and it takes an hour of rehearsal for every 8 counts, usually, when getting a dance down. Not within the skillset of most girls.
i myself am a girl scout and i am a cadet and do u really think I or any of my fellow CADET girl scouts are gonna wanna dance this cheesey dance and song? you at least could have made it more modernized and not so tecno,,, i really am dissapointed

Best intentions, horrible dance. Sorry. the steps don't make sense.
I am sorry to say that NO girl older than 6th grade would participate in this silly dance. I know that I as a older girl would kill myself if I had to dance to this. I also want to say that when you make a flashmob, you don't organize the girls in the uniforms and announce "Ok girls, are you ready to dance?"
