Ok, maybe he's really a "failure" as they say, but do they think it changes if they keep repeating it and make it even more rebellious by saying how useless he is? They tell him it's worth nothing and he behaves like this as spite, nothing will ever be solved if they don't try to help him and talk to him.
Also, there something called the “labeling effect” where the person becomes what people call them because they start to believe it themselves. It’s like a self-fulling prophecy. Makes me wonder what came first with Mammon 😢
