- BMW C600 Sport, How to change oil and NOT ORIGINAL K&N air filter. Please do not clean factory installed paper filter. Original factory air filter has only change interval 20 000 Km, without any cleaning possibility.

I should say that I came back to original air filter Mahle LX3013 with change period every 20 000km. One of the best car magazine in the Czech Republic laboratory tested the most common air filters and KN air filters was not as good as the original one.
In Greece we have HIFLO FILTRO HFA7604 instead of MAHLE is it also ok?

Next year during the spring I'm going to do a bigger maintenance in 20 000 km. It means change the secondary chain and CVT belt with rollers. If I will have time, I will take a video also.

What is the 8 mm tool you used on the bottom drain called? I need one. Never minf I got it off with a large 8mm allen wrench.
it is standard 8mm imbus/inbus/hex

It is my general behavior. I'm shaking every liquid things before use. Milk, juice and also the oil :)

Thank you for the help. I took my C650GT to the BMW motorad dealer (2.5 hr drive) for an oil change and they charged me $368 CAD. I need to learn how to do this myself! Im assuming it's the same procedure for the C650GT. Also, if you get a chance to answer, what is the oil spray you put on the air filter before installing it?
Hello. If you have installed the original paper filter, DO NOT USE ANY SPRAY please! Original air filter has only change period 20 000 Km, without any cleaning possibility. Filter Mahle LX3013.

I did reset mine with ISTA + which I generally using for cars but in the settings you can change it for a motorrad

Hello. I'm not sure my answer will satisfy you fully. I'm from Czech Republic and we have here local company which makes high quality professional tools. Brand name is Tona Expert. Don,'t you have tu unscrew 3 screws? 1 silver on the down side, second and third are similar black screws(17mm) on the side part of the engine.
I don't think it is really needed. But you can try and You will see if some some oil will be behind. But I don't do that.

I don't remember exact amount of oil. I always bought 4 liter canister a used what I needed.

Watching this reminded me why I don’t buy BMW bikes..... it’s the excessive use of torx!
make a habbit to change oil every riding season if you ride less than 10000 km or or every 10000 km . the engine will say big thanx to you. why like that ?
few years ago BMW made mini cooper one 1st gen with 25000km oil change interval , but there was no oul pressure sensor in the engine. so LOOOOTS of mini engines ( ep6 and ep 4 ) jus died bacause of oul insufficiency . and fresh oil means - clean engine

There is electronic sensor for level of oil. So if your C650 bike is in the straight position at the main stand and your oil level is at the MAX line despite that fact you can see the OIL CHECK alarm, I'm afraid is better to go to the BMW service. I just can say. I changed oil at my BMW C600 four times, exactly as I showed at the video without any problem. I also every year connecting the bike to the diagnostic tool and I dont see any foult code there and everything works. So this is the reason I'm telling to you, you propably have different issue and is better to go to the BMW service and accept the price :)
It's not really necessary to have BMW do the maintenance. Just pay them to tell you what's wrong, and you do the work yourself if at all possible.
did you ever find what was the issue. I read many forums that it is nothing wrong but a very sensitive sensor
The sensor is extremely sensitive. Follow the procedure in the manual, you have to let the bike run on center stand for a bit, shut off, then WAIT a while before checking the level. Even my BMW dealer overfilled the oil the one time I let them do the oil change.

Hi, I'm sorry, but probably I didn't understand your question clearly. Anyway I will try to answer as far as I think I understand. I prepared the list of things I should buy for maintenance in 20 000 km. It is really lot of stuff and it is not a cheap :) I'm not the professional BMW technician so I don't want to write something without experience before. Pls. wait till the time my maintenance will be done. Highly likely end of May

you over filled your oil filter. how clumsy can you be. half filled would have been enough.
If you can use a factory oil filter! ;-)
Is the c650 gt the same?
I dont know GT. But the engine is the same. I think most of the service activities will be very similar.
