Enjoy your analysis. I've always felt the most important traits for a quarterback are accuracy intelligence toughness and leadership..

All you need to do is watch AOCs tape from college he moved around the pocket pretty well, in fact he ran around a fair amount and made a lot of good plays and some bad ones too. I think the staff last year wanted to avoid turnovers and had him on a very short leash. He actually was a good QB on a mediocre team gunslinging the ball all over the place. The knock on him if anybody watched the PFF draft recap (or watched it live) was that he was too reckless at times and needed to clean things up in the NFL. Go back and watch it they were actually pretty high on him. His 40 time was 4.7 actually the same as Mahomes was but obviously he was not as elusive but he moved around pretty well. He actually was a pretty impressive college QB who messed up and missed a chance to be a 1st rd pick if he'd of come out after his junior year. They asked him to stay one more year to try and get to the Big 10 championship game and even though they did, the team wasn't as good as the year before and got killed by the national champs Michigan he did throw for a lot of yardage in the game though. I'm sick of people with negative opinions who never even watched one of his games in college if your'e going to talk a lot of sh*t at least be a little informed.

The defense is going to be top five, maybe top three, in the league, but defense shuts doors on games, they don't win games, often. The defense is going to account for approximately 2-4 wins at most, which means that the running game is going to have to pick up the slack, because the QB situation is right there as the worst in the league, alongside Denver, Seattle, Carolina, the Giants, and Minnesota.
O'Connell did not show me enough to warrant suggesting he is going to make a huge leap forward, which is what would be required in order for us to contend in the brutal AFC. 6-11 up to 8-9 is the best this team can hope to achieve. Frankly, I would be OK with 6-11 or lower, because we need a lock-down corner, which we should have taken this draft, and we need another top tier WR, as this is likely Adams last season with us. His cap hit is absurd and is only going to get worse.
It would be near ideal to get to 3-14 so we can honestly eye one of the top 3 QBs in next season's draft, but this team has too much talent to fall that far.
As a Raider fan since 85 it has been tough sledding, but if we can just find that A- to B+ QB we could easily be in contention regularly again. Here's to hoping.
