As a regular tomato grower, I cut off all very low leaves, all suckers, and keep all leaf branches trimmed, I leave all flowers so I can get lots of tomatoes, good air flow, and I tie up my plants so they don’t fall over. But this is so interesting to me! I might give it a go next year!
You’re doing most of the steps to get towards a big one, do a few more and I bet you you can get one over 5 pounds maybe even 10!!
Hey Chris, really enjoying the series on giant tomatoes. For those of us not in the Wisconsin area, where can we get seeds from the line of plants?
I’m in Minnesota but I can ship tomato seeds worldwide….. I would love to see everybody growing these giants so until I run out of seeds I’m offering 10 seeds for $10 shipped anywhere in the world. Although I am out of my 9.06 pounder I do have some left from my six pounders and seven pounders that I would be happy to ship out…. If you’re interested send me an email at Gardenofgiants@yahoo.com
Wondering if sunny day length has much of a factor on it ?
As far as producing a mega…. No.
In terms of growth I believe the sunnier location the better for growing giant tomatoes, but at a minimum I do six hours of direct sun.
Have you ever used fox farm fertilizer products
Nope not yet… I’ve heard good things about them though.
@@GardenofGiants well I just ordered a combo kit off Amazon. I've also heard good things. I'll let you know what I think about it
Yes definitely let me know what you think 👍
